Caught me off-guard. Bold choice, but I think this transition to a darker overall feel (at least in the cinematics) will pay off for the Diablo universe.
I laughed. They know the audience if you have ever played a diablo game thats what your arm feels like after 12hrs from all that hardcore non stop click a mouse combat action

I feel that they are trying to outdo themselves with each trailer and the result is just overkill. Kind of how like James Bond movies have gone and some marvel movies where the feats of the character are at least plausible at the start but in the later parts they're just getting absurd. Also for a demon that is supposed to be about hatred I get a much more virus-disease-vibe here, it's not how I imagine a demon dedicated to hatred would manifest itself.
Or you could have just taught that backstabbing asian chick a lesson once so she would know what happens when you steal a soulstone from the protagonist
Lilith literally could have destroyed mephisto once and for all, something that's never happened before......yea we could have another malthael situation but still
I really wanted to beat the 💩 out of my character for not accepting Lilith's proposal. Sure, Mephisto was weirdly enthralling, but you can't trust any of the Evils... Not even the Angels. But I'd rather side with the Mother of Sanctuary.

I genuinely think she would have been _better_ for sanctuary than Mephisto but at the end of the day, she has her own goals and cares little for humanity. This is seen by the fact that she is not bothered by the impact her actions has on people and the lives she ruins. There would be _some_ people she would favor, and she might even attempt to bring back the Nephalem but she would do it with the intent of controlling them.
@@socialcockroach3307 Lilith is a lesser evil but is still evil. She just wants to control and rule over everything. Having said that, she is still like an angel compared to Diablo, Mephisto and Baal. They are basically the devil himself, since all three of their names means "the devil" in different languages.
Bruh just make a movie already! These cinematics are next-level insane! Imagine an entire movie this dark of this quality... the theaters would be flooded! It'd easily become the #1 all time 3D animated movie.

As absolutely insane as this cinematic is I have to give an exorbitant amount of kudos to the voice actress at 1:42. That scream didn't just feel real, it felt VISCERAL!

It just dawned on me that we never did actually SEE the process of Mephisto turning his vessel into a suitable body for himself. And man, the cinematics team did NOT disappoint. It is BRUTAL! Her arm splitting apart and her flesh being used torn apart & used to make Mephisto's new body is insanely creative! Yes, its a nightmare, but I have no doubt Mephisto *would* be that cruel.
You can hate on Blizzard as a corporation, but the artists behind their games are the best on the market. This was absolutely incredible. Only repsect for the artists who put in the effort! ❤

@@RamzaBeoulves My point was more laughing at how every time, the NPC who leaves with the soulstone, is corrupted by it and the same outcome happens all over again. It's almost like we've seen this exact scenario play out in one or two of the Diablo series already... lol
@@Nephalem84 Yeah he's really fun especially when being cheeky. Like the way he said "Yes, I've had a bad few years" and the way he said that in almost a childish "I've been a bad boy" kinda way.
It's an absolute shame thet they have such talented people but still completely failed giving this game the story and atmosphere it deserved. I will give it another chance with the addon, but it must be really massive to fix all the mistakes from the base game.
ive never heard a scream like that in any media. Its like the scream of someone who has been screaming for hours and has barely anything left to give but is still screaming at the top of their lungs. I wonder if this was legit one of the last screams of a massive recording session when the voice actors throat was dyign from screaming so much lmao
there's a difference between dark and grotesque, and this is grotesque, not dark. There is practically no sense of mystery or ambiguity, just gory depictions but everything is in plain sight.
@@framinthor d2 was like this but couldn't show it well, the transformations of wanderer, and the horrifying thing that baal did, look up the remake, that's tal'rasha's face nailed onto his face years later cinematics team is doing wonders, and once they do it, you call it grotesque? they were trying their best for the old examples, the vertex count and the effects didn't get to human psyche tho
@@falricthesleeping9717 how else would you describe the images if not grotesque? I love that it is grotesque but it's not dark. At least not dark in the way I see it, I guess people encapsulate gore, grotesque, evil and horrific all under the same umbrella and name it dark, I think dark is a category separate from those which adds ambiguity and horror that you are imagining rather than the horror that is blatantly presented to you. For example Marius conversation with Baal (thinking it was tyrael) it was dark, because there was a sense of tension in trying to understand the things Marius went through without it being blatantly stated. While in this cinematic, it was just grotesque, it easily shows you what she is going through with gory images instead of you trying to comprehend how bad her situation is. I am not the most articulate person so I can't explain it in much better detail than this but I hope you understand what I mean between the difference of Dark and Grotesque and why this isn't dark in my opinion
They would ruin it with strong female character woke nonsense, just spare us. I pray that soon this strong female character nonsense will stop and we can get back to good story telling and games that aren't focused on checking off boxes

Still wish Lillith was better written and not so easily discarded. If we'd been able to side with her to protect Sanctuary and humanity and Inarius had been the final boss we had to defeat so he wouldn't be able to destroy everything he and Lillith created in a desperate bid to get back to the heavens, I'd probably still be playing the game.

yeah a small team of 10-20 people in a game company will work on a movie because you dont have any idea how time consuming and how many more people they'd have to hire for that
I read once it takes about a year to make these cinematics of a few minutes. You probably can't linear extrapolate how long it would take them to make a full feature film but I guess the production time would be too long and/or the costs would simply be too high. But who knows, with the rapid development of AI software to support the artists (not replace them) some things that are not possible at this time might be very possible within a few years.
Since the beginning of players asking the same question has always resulted in the same answer. Too expensive and would take too much time for them to develop a full length film version of their cinematics. Perhaps that could change some day, but that’s always been the case before.
People ask this all the time. When Disney or anyone else makes a movie. A 90 minute animation will usually take them 8 months to a year to create and animate. A single 3 to 5 minute cutscene like this takes a comparable amount of time and resources. To make a movie like this would be grand, but it would be someone's magnum opus at Blizzard cause it would take somewhere between 10-30 years for anything close to 2 hours of story. Not to mention the server/computer costs to render. That's why we do not have a movie tho

@@Yehoshua66 "top notch" lmfao d4 devs had to sacrifice an entire season to actually create a functional loot system in a game genre that has loot as one of its core principles. this is AFTER 5 years of development and multiple alphas and betas prior to launch.

Great trailer as always but that's all Blizzard manages to achieve. As long as D4 is not also available in a fully fledged single player mode for full immersion, I don't care anymore. Happy gaming to everybody who enjoys it the way it is of course 🙂
Dear Blizzard, I respect you! In the new DLC, I ask you to add 2-3 Raids to the game, preferably every season. plus 2-3 challenging dungeons other than the nightmare dungeons! as well as new activities in Endgame - then there will definitely be enough content in the game! I wish you success! I feel that the game will get better every season and there will be something to do in the endgame. Love you Blizzard!
This is like the 6th or 7th time I watch the trailer now and it's only been out for like 9 hours.. Those screams give me chills every time.. I'm blown away
What a cinematic! I am not an ARPG player, but I loved the theme, vibe, and story of Diablo 4. Now that it has an Aztec theme as well, I cannot say no. I hope it still retains the biblical and gothic themes in its story too.
I know the game needs focus on improving gameplay, but what I like the most about Diablo is the world, lore and stories. I hope one day we can get more lore and deeper stories with each new season or seasonal stuff with the campaign, once the gameplay aspects are more ironed out.
