I gotta say, the quality of the commercials are top-notch for its time. The fluid transformation of some toys were great, the strings of the flying vehicles were not visible, the explosions were nice, the dusts seen under Convoy as well as the sparks from the train's rail were so appropriate
The Car Robot Diaclones get a lot of love because they eventually became Transformers, but I gotta say, these Super Robo Diaclones look just as great. Even in present day after many decades of Super Robots, the Diaclone ones really stand out.
I have to agree, man. I know the Diaclone Reboot line is still going on, but I'd love it if somehow these designs were incorporated into a future Transformers series. Like, I could easily see Robot Base and Robot Fortress X becoming Titans.
I think there was a movie called Convoy so that the toy was name after. And later the toy line turn into Transformers. Convoy into Optimus Prime but Japanese people still call him Convoy.
Imagine if Takara actually make a Diaclone and Microman anime before Hasbro and Marvel made the The Transformers cartoon, since there is no Diaclone and Microman anime at all. Would the Transformers cartoon even exist if Takara's two anime was already made?
If diaclone had an anime then transformers as we know it wouldn't exist,it would probably be like Voltron or Macross of being a highly edited english dub of a Japanese show.
It's the early 80s and I'm visiting my family in Tokyo. The floor is tatami, the family is chain smoking cigarettes. The TV is on, commercials between the mecha series of the week. These come on, food is great, family is amazing. You feel like it'll never end
@@stivers56 Wow Jetfire as Leader of the Autobots.😳I read the Joustra MB story well that is a nice hunting ground for collectors and i own a piece from that time. 🥰
Diaclone was just a toy line. It was Takara's partnership with Hasbro- and borrowing from more than a few non-Diaclone-related toys- which turned _that_ into _The Transformers._ In fact, after _Transformers Generation One_ ended its run in the USA and was transitioning into _Transformers Generation Two_ and the first Marvel Comics run, Diaclone was continued for a short time thereafter, and evolved into a new line, Microman, which continues to this day _completely separated from_ its far-more-popular brother franchise. Recently, however, Diaclone made a _very_ surprising comeback in 2017, and was aimed directly at collectors! Look up "Diaclone Reboot", which is produced by TakaraTomy.
Not sure but I usually thought a movie of Diaclone would work since I grew up with Transformers alot. No wait- Bad idea since it would scare kids, even though I DID grew up with the Bay movies of Transformers (except for Age of Extinction and The Last Knight)
