This is the most useful video regarding how to fix a malfunctioning dishwasher. This is the first step that one needs to undertake, before dismantling anything...
Thanks for sharing this video. Very helpful. I have a different GE model GDF620HSJ6SS and have a similar sheet of error codes and things to check. In my case, all of the control panel lights suddenly went off and no combination of pushing buttons simultaneously has any effect on the dishwasher, it’s like it’s dead :( so I called for service. The technician checked the washer and concluded that either the main control board or User Interface (UI) board is bad and advised me to just get a new dishwasher because the replacement boards work for a few weeks and quit ! Now after watching this video, I’m motivated to check the main control board and see if there’s any sign of life, I don’t believe in simply discarding a 3 year old $700 appliance without a bit of a fight!
My dishwasher has a problem where the top panel lights and controls stopped working. The main board has 120 volts power going in and it has a steady green light. It also has the 13.5 volts DC current going out to the top control board . I am still trying to get an answer on the correct part needed but I think it might be the top board.
The best help I found after looking for an answer for three days was you guidance, this works also for new models like mine. I dont even have to repce the panel . Thank you very much. JGV Colombia
Great video! Thanks! My service light on the lower board won't come on at all, so I'm going to replace the lower board. My upper panel seems to work fine.
I have the GE GDT680 model. My heating element is not working. I replaced the element, but that was not it. The user interface board they sent me has a "personality jumper" that has to be configured. I ran the test you showed by holding down the cycle and start. They all blinked and the only ones left on were the "autosense" and "lock controls". What does that mean? Also, do you know how to set the jumper on the new board? It's Christmas eve and I could sure use the dishwasher... ;)
My dishwasher is afloat if not exact to yours.... But my lights do not come on at all, nor my dishwasher run at all... It has power to it, even to the door, but control panel I guess is out, you think?
My bottom circuit board solid green, bottom of machine controller board. But my buttons don’t ON. No power to up buttons, which board is dead? Top one buttons or controller?
So if the LED on the main control board is dead or not flashing or lit up then I need to replace the lower main control board? I can't find much information on this. Thank you in advance
I see several people have the same problem I have and that is getting the service diagnostic sheet. Where did you get those. I called GE, emailed them etc and they say they don't have them, so I am wondering how you got them? Please reply.
Hey Judy, I found my service diagnostic sheet tucked into the left foot of the dishwasher, it was visible after removing the kick plate. Apparently the manufacturer places it there.
When you had all lights flashing if you closed the door switch would they stop flashing. or if you held the door switch in closed with a screw driver would the lights all flash in the test mode?
At 4:35 in the video you are pointing to the BOOST light and stated if the lite is lite you would be having an error with ??? Sorry I was unable to hear your comment. Please type answer here
could someone possibly send a link or a screen shot of the service diagnostic sheet ? I have the manual but the diagnostic sheet in nowhere to be found.
It is under the front behind the panel (kick panel) under the door- take out the two little screws, then look on the left side - folded into a 2” square tucked on the side by the foot
The service LED light on my GE model GDT695SGJBB is solid green wether the door is open or closed so I bought and replaced the UI board (WD21X23463). It did not fix the issue. The issue being, no lights or functionality of the UI touchpad. Dishwasher is not working at all. Can you help?
@@nobodycares2354 it turns out that it was the top interface board. It needed to be programmed. I ended up having to call a technician to program the board I had installed.
@@hotrolls3473 Yes I believe there are a few jumpers in a row that need to be placed in the right position (jumpered or not jumpered) although according to what you wrote it sounded as though the bottom control was defective> depending on the model the green led lite should be a steady flash or a double time flash (where the control PCB is square shaped)
@@spookville6632 The board manufacturer did not install the jumpers during manufacturing. In addition, my board needed a software update so I had to call a technician who plugged into my board and installed the update.
