Thanks for being there, F.P.A. ! I've been suffering with TN off-and-on for 50 years. I'm not going to go into my experiences over all those years, but it is disturbing to see dentists on Y.T. offering their DTR procedures as effective treatment for the "Suicide Disease". I've been suffering from daily persistant facial pain. Its bilateral and located in maxilarry sinuses and the bridge of the nose. It doesnt fit trigeminal neralgia description and no one knows what it is? When the pain is severe I vomit and I have trouble sleeping. I have tried carbamazepine , trycyclics, Ssri, Snri many migraine meds with no resolution or improvement. I was even given antipsychotic called olanzapine for it. Please I need help Its a torture to live like this...
Did you have your sinuses checked if they are healthy? I also have similar symptoms in the sinus area but my sinuses are healthy. There is no evidence of trigeminal neuralgia on my MRI scan as well. My pain feels like someone is pressing that area and it is numbing and slightly burning as well. My doctor said it’s atypical facial pain. I took carbamezipine and tricyclic antidepressant(endep) but they didn’t work. Now i have started taking lyrica and it is working. How are you going now? Have you managed to find some treatment for yourself?
I have this Faicial Pain for the past 35 years it comes and goes sometime I don’t have it for six months and it comes in a stay there for a month I had a gamma knife I was fine for a few years but again it came back please someone can help me
