Bless you dr Denning, your article about outcomes in normo-immune patients saved my life, literally, if I manage to overcome this monster is ONLY thanks to you, I owe you my life or at least my lungs. You are the only prominent scientist who advocates treating people BEFORE they become incurable, and who actually gives a damn about people spending their lives in bed dependent on antifungals and steroids.

I'm having difficulty breathing and chest pains. People think I'm just anxious but I'm sure I have Aspergillus. I live in South Africa, I hope I can find a doctor who can help me because I feel I could die.

I have asthma and used lots of antibiotics for lung infections which made my lungs weak. Plus I smoked which obviously is not good for asthmatics. But I did give it up. I got aspergillosis and my specialist put me on 50mg of prednisone which he reduced to 25mg and I was on prednisone for such a long time. Steroids did no good at all. Still had the aspergillosis for a long time. I knew I still had it because I used to cough up something that felt like cotton wool plugs. I finally got rid of it by accident. I took a capsule that was an anti fungal that is supposed to get rid of thrush in the vagina. I coughed up a lot of very bright green phlegm and ever since, no recurrance of the aspergillosis. I think I contracted it because I am a keen gardener and opened potting mix without a mask which I have since been told is a big no no for people with weak lungs. I have been diagnosed with bronchiectasis and fibrosis which I have had since 2005. I take ventolin, seretide and spiriva every morning. I am also combating it with exercising and clean eating which is helping a lot though it is very hard for me to breathe when I walk uphill. Not too bad on a flat surface. I also did an 8 week stint at the local hospital doing pulmonary rehabilitation. I was never told what could happen with the excessive chest infections and when I was told I had bronchiectasis, the doctor never told me how serious that was. He didn't explain what bronchiectasis was. I have had to research all my information myself. Thanks for reading this rant.

@@1toshi32 I lost my 43 yr of hubby due to non Tb and toxic mold. He as a gardener too. Gutted. Now me and my chid sick, toxic mold in the flat is everywhere because guy Upstairs grows a ton of weed Abd fungus gets down in the gaps . Only thing I can say is keep doing lung strengthening excerises And keep eye on your lung capacity . Me and my girl still in this moldy London dump. On top I’m sure the scabs on my face are mold related As my girl has them too. Would love a dr like this one but they are rare. Good luck

@@gina2190 I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for your good wishes. As to the mold, I highly suggest you get industrial strength vinegar and spray it liberally onto the mold. It will get rid of the mold. Let it dry and clean it off with a dry rag. I hope you can remedy the cause of the mold in your place. I suggest you either find somewhere else to live for your own health's sake or tell the authorities about the guy upstairs. You should not have to live in such horrible conditions.
