Diahann was phenomenal in all ways, and this was one of her most stellar nights. BronzeVenus, PLEASE find Pt. 2 of this performance, which was posted some years ago. When I showed it to her at the time it brought tears to her eyes, and mine. She said, "Damn that girl was good."! Please post it again. As I recall it was her medley of "New York, New York" and "Give My Regards To Broadway". Thanks!!!

This woman is beyond classy!!!!! She just has this regal and dynamic presence unlike any other person. I can't think of any other actress who could have portrayed "Dominique Devereux" in Dynasty the way she did, or even half as good. Even in "Claudine" where she played a maid with six children she possessed such elegance and class!!! Love Her!!!! I am so greatful for being named after her!!!! She is truly a class act to follow!!!! A True Legend.
Was that Dionne Warwick handing off the mic to Diahann? I love the disco-fied version of "Sweetest Sounds". Richard Rogers probably turned in his grave! He was such a purist regarding his compositions!
@blkchk The sweetest sounds Diahann Carrol sang at the openning of the play No Strings she starred with Richard Kiley was very memorable and unforgettable for me because they sang it very elegantly from their hearts .It was the very first play I saw on Broadway..This was New York in the early 1960s .Thank you for sharing this song..However I would like to hear the song recorded for that play..Does anybody have this record?..Nilo APA
