Thank you for your question. Calibration can include taking measurements and comparing the results to known values. The term “calibration” can lead to confusion because calibration to one person may not be calibration to another. I have the same dial caliper (505-637) which has both inch and metric scales. The caliper is very accurate is in inch scale, but way off in metric scale. The error increases almost linearly from 10mm to 150mm, and reaches its maximum value (almost a full revolution) at 150mm. How can I take accurate measurements in metric scale (I don't use much of the inch scale) with this caliper???
