A dialogue session was held with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Friday after he addressed the Oxford Union, one of Britain’s oldest student unions and a world-renowned debating society with history stretching back to 1823.
To all malaysian out there, ni aku nk cerita pengalaman aku 2 hr lepas. Aku attend 1 seminar di tokyo. Dan bersembang dengan 1 group dari egypt. Dorg ni postdoc di salah 1 universiti di egypt. Bila tau aku dari malaysia salah sorg tu mention pasal Tun M.. salah 1 yg dia ckp kita bertuah dpt pm spt Tun M.. bergunung2 dia puji tun M... aku pelik mcm mana kita sbgai malaysian boleh kutuk macam2... parti mana pn memimpin mesti akan ada kekurangan. Bn dlu pun janji mcm2.. bila menang election smpai next election pun tak buat... same goes to PH.. but at least give some respect to this old brilliant man...
part singapore tu, nak sentuh sdkit. jgan berlagak singapore, klo negara luar stop supply air, gas dll pda singaore, singapore xda apa2, so jgn nak berlagak, indonesia da mula stop supply gas ke singapore. next nti kita tgok apa lgi ye.
i growing up with Dr Tun Mahathir as a mentor someone that i adore so much someone that i idolize and wish to be, when he become PM for the second time i support him even though a lot of people criticize him. btw Dr Tun was soo cute when he said xtau
After Arwah Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Tun dr.mahathir the best PM of Malaysia unchallengeble by anyone in the country till now..He has grate Integrity, honesty and loyalty.Even you can seen your self how he's answering all your questions at the age of 94.He is really a great leader.
At 93 yrs old , I GUESS NO ONE IN THIS EARTH CAN ANSWER QUESTIONS IN A 45 MIN DIALOGUE SESSION WITHOUT HAVING TO REFER TO ANY SCRIPTS OR SKIP THE QUESTIONS …. WE ARE VERY PROUD OF OUR BELOVED PM TUN M …
I am Indonesian and personally so proud of Mr. Mahatir Muhammad of his courage's of many things. He is loudly says that Israel is doing many wrong thing and this is not every country leader can speak about it. He is not worry about what Israel alliance will effecting to Malaysia as a result. I absolutely respect him, wishing him good health and always in Allah protection. Aamin
hahaahhahahahaha as a "melei punde" you support bapa rasisme also known as mahathir. Be honest. Also you're not really singaporen are you? Melei berpure-pure ckp mcm dia luar negara pulak. Pasti la duduk kat Johor je hahahaha bangang.
shasha mohdali yups ... but Tun M already said that his hearing is not that good ... so they should know how to ask question to him in simple & clear ...
There are probably not many Malaysians who will say this, but I will say it. As a Malaysian, I have a LOT of respect for Mr. Jokowi. I was in Jakarta during the Jakarta coblos when Mr. Jokowi first campaigned to become the leader of Indonesia, and I still have a lot of respect for him right now.
walaupun aku tak minat ngan tun m. ni.. tpi aku hormat dgn kebijaksanaan yg dia miliki.. bila dia jwb soalan.. aku faham dlm hati dia nak meluap2 marah sebenarnya.. tpi dia berjaya kontrol perasaan dengan senyuman.. haha
Aku respect dia sebab dia berani menegak kan keadilan dan bicara tentang kebenaran. Soal kecerdasan itu number 2 lah. Semua pemimpin pun punya kecerdasan. Tetapi mereka tak berani seperti tun M.. contoh nya negara arab dan wilayah2 mereka. Gigi jari dan bersiul sementara saudara seagama mereka dibantai dgn kejam dan diperlecehkan ..
haha! Tun Mahathir answer to any question is soooo Malaysian style and suite his true character. Being sarcastic and you have to read between the lines. I guess after 40+ years of answering those same ol Q at 94 years of age his doesn't care anymore to entertain those who won't benefit Malaysian in any way. Priorities got right .
Ya Ben...most of it, Tun answer them by sarcasm,d questioners just not getting it haha... some might be a technical problms, but ya...its Tun technical way of answering without getting cought by "enemy"...haha..brilliant

Nicely done Tun Mahathir. Im a singaporean. That singapore guy really need a one tight slap back to preschool. Learn your manners. And most people there that ask question also need to learn that it is a Q and A session, your opinions is not valid.
Thank you Rafiee. I am a Singaporean and so sad to see a Singaporean ask such a narrow minded question. I hope this is an abnormality, an unpleasant outlier and not a typical Singaporean way of asking a question and carrying with him a predetermined answer that he wants to enforce on the Dr. M
@@jayl9748 yea man, the ignorance from him is quite embarrassing, I fear we are becoming more arrogant just because we are more educated. His manners is somewhat lacking. Is this what we have become as a nation?
We, the majority of the voters in Malaysia so proudly to have Tun Mahathir back again in political scene to lead M'sia, a small multiracial country to rise prosperously in economy,to lead by good example & able to stand with our own principles rather than agreed following blindly with the global powerful jurisdiction thoughts. WE LOVE U TUN! May Allah granted u with longevity to serve our land with rightful dignity. U are a TRUE LEADER by example.
Some of them giving a long and confusing question. A good question is straight to the point, with no self opinion and if possible only a short and clear general statement to make a transition from the previous question.
but again they will say it is OXFORD level and that hows OXFORD level ppl ask question.... tak tahu macam mana nak tanya soalan ,,tapi tak nak admit,.. kebodohan level GABAN !
yea I do agree... the questions are too long. too many words and I can hear no point? do they want him to explain? to justify? or agree to certain point? some sounded like they're trying to push their belief and mentality on him and some questions are just silly... oh well, its Oxford standard, who am i..
@@hycho6893 Amazing. I can see students from Bangladesh , India and Pakistan asking questions in the Oxford Union Hall. Oxford Equal opportunities policy works .
No hate to Singaporeans, but that guy has some nerves...You have to realize he's a 92 years old man and the prime minister of a country...You can have your opinions that's fine but don't be stubborn An empty is better than a full cup...sure millennials nowadays think oh the old ways are done, you can't tell me that I can't do something...But being arrogant and stubborn is another thing entirely, if you don't except the fact that you are wrong, you won't grow buddy Most politicians are kids that has big desires with a child's attitude
The host is very irritating, even I find it difficult understanding some of his questions are unclear. Mahathir re-asked him to repeat his questions several times. The host keeps saying 'that's not the point of the question'. I don't think he has good healthy brains in understanding the implied meanings of Mahathir's answers...
I agree to that! I hate when people always twist the question as if they will get the answer. But all they need is just an honest straight forward answer like what Tun Dr Mahathir just did!
Remember that the audiences are not any tom dick and harry or people can just walk-in and ask questions. The students were selected to be there. I think the questions asked by most of the audiences are quite clear, it is Tun M that did not get it or chose not to understand the question. Even the moderator have to repeat his questions again and again.
Ikr when Tun M respond 'Is it about Israel?' Im laughing my ass off. The guy looked surprised and even stuttered afterward at the direct question from Tun M. He tried to twist it with long ass sentences but Tun M be like 'nah just straight to the point boy. Im 93 y/o. Got no time to waste by hearing your same indirect twisted and repeated question' 😂
@@hycho6893 Do weigh the fact that Tun is 93 years old tho, so spare him on the part that he needs to ask what the questions were again. He answered their questions, but some refused to accept his answers.
Mahathir's response to him being "anti-Semitic" remains steadfast since all those many, many years ago. Excellent, sir! And so is his answer about Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy case.
@@welcometolife4237 its ur right to enjoy what u believe is good. Theres plenty of proven evidents by science also, based on years of studies & analysis that claim this act is not good. Our PM is a good speaker. I just love how he answered all of the questions. You need to think back when youre asking...and understand the answers given by him.. I’m proud to be a Malaysian. 🔥🔥
The moderator obviously could not differentiate between an Israeli national or a Jew. An Israeli will not get a visa to enter Malaysia but a Jew holding American, Australian, British or what have U obviously can enter Malaysia. So much for Oxford.
@@GuyLogen OP stated the answer, "An Israeli will not get a visa to enter Malaysia but a Jew holding American, Australian, British or what have U obviously can enter Malaysia.". Do you need to ask again when it's given? The policy is, Isreal=No visa, end of story. The point isn't about race, Jew doesn't mean they are all from Isreal(Since there are Jews in other countries anyway).
Too easy for our beloved PM, even if this mat salleh try to HARDTalk TunM he probably won't stand the gravity of DrM's intelligence and awesome abilities of public speaking even at his 93s.... #BeHealthTunM
Camni lah, cuba paham pd umur 93thun, kene betolkan negara. Mungkin kita pd usia mcm ni pon xmampu bg talk dan menjawab mcm ni. Dia xnak jd PM pon, permintaan pembangkang dulu dan rakyat. Itu pon kata nya 2thn shj. Kekadang, jawapan kpd sesuatu soalan adalah beri perbandingan contoh kes. Selebihnya, pandai2 pikir. Level dia xperlu explain pjg2 utk nmpk pandai dan jage hati org. Explain pjg2 pon nnti kene kecam dan akan diputar belit. Org luar prejudis kerana x tahu sejarah Malaysia. Tapi kita xpeduli sbb kita sndiri yg tentukan hala tuju kite sbg rakyat Malaysia. Hanya perpecahan dalaman shj buatkan kita lemah. So, rapatkan barisan, capai titik persamaan dalam kepelbagaian budaya.
Tepat sekali...byk perkara diputar belit supaya kerajaan baru lari fokus..rakyat sdh bijak dengan mengubah kerajaan..sila bijak sekali lagi untuk lihat hasilnya..xda kejayaan datang sekelip mata...
Fresh water dengan air process. Dah dpt fresh water harga murah punya lama sampai negara dah maju pun tak habis nak cari salah malaysia. Perangai Singaporean ni mmg tah pape. Muak kdg2 tengok
Kami sokong Tun M. Salam sejahtera!
Think about this...this grandpa...he's 90s flew hours of flight to visit this youngsters...answering their questions...trying his best to full their empty cups...he cant listen at times but he tried with smile and laugh..IT IS COOL.
I love the way our PM answered the question by 'provoking' critical thinking. His way of answering questions showed that he is not a dictator. Everyone has the right to have his own opinion but we don't have the right to force people to buy our opinion.
that singapore boy really playing the victim. you get the water with a cheap price and then sell it to your own people with an expensive price. i myself working in singapore and you know for a mineral water in malaysia i can easily get it at rm 2 and below meanwhile in singapore it's around rm 4-5 for a bottle of water. that's insane right.
sorry to interrupt but? it costs singapore RM2.40 to treat every thousand gallons of water. by selling it to malaysia at RM0.50 per thousand gallons, singapore makes a loss of RM1.90 per thousand gallons. that’s what the singaporean student meant by singapore “willingly sells 11000 gallons more water to malaysia per day”, because singapore makes a loss every time they sell water to malaysia. also, the water in singapore is more expensive because of the higher level of income and singapore + the higher costs of production + the exchange rate between ringgit and SGD. the singaporean student had a lot of valid points, but he was far too rude and he didn’t do his research properly before asking these questions. wish someone else would have been given the chance to do so in order to engage with fruitful debate, not just a mockery session.
@@sab_8498 If what you said is true Malaysian should thank Singapore for being a fool without knowing how to do business. Perhaps donation or charity makes more sense than losing RM1.9 / k gallons
Jeffery Wong you realise that Singapore didn’t have a choice back when the treaty was drafted? In 1962, singapore had little to no resources of water. We were struggling to survive without water, and the water agreement was the only way out. Water was the key basis of all Malaysia-Singapore agreements, and Singapore was afraid if they angered Malaysia in any way or another, Malaysia would then cut their water supply. But now, the tables have turned - Singapore will be able to depend on NEWater for 40% of its entire demand by 2065. However, Johor still depends very much on the treated water that Singapore supplies to them. If Malaysia does not resign, it will definitely be very inconvenient for Singapore, but with ASEAN established, Singapore can simply turn to other neighbouring countries for water. Frankly, Malaysia needs Singapore more than Singapore needs Malaysia pertaining to the water crisis, and the talks of cutting the water supply are frankly all bullshit.
That's a real hero of our Malaysian pm tun mahathir. That young guy better learn how to ask questions. Love u tun, may Allah give u a good health and long life.
27:14 Tun Dr Mahathir: "you are welcome to choose Najib, but unfortunately I think you are not a Malaysian citizen, so you have no right. Are you a Malaysian?" that little singaporean don't have gut to present his nationality in front of Malaysian.
Interesting - A recent survey by pollster Ilham Cenetre found that 59.5% of 2,614 Malay responsdents disapprove of the govt's performance in the first 5 months after last May's general election. Malays form abt 50.1 % of Malaysia's population.
The interviewer continue to asked stupid follow up questions about why the ban on the Jewish people not the Israel government. Heck, who the hell is this people representing in the games? It's Israel, led by the Israel government
That is because Malaysia don't separate sports events with politics, but the western democracy is not like that. The moderator is not stupid just because he did not understand why Malaysia mixed up sports with politics..
+Harvey Ch we just show our view about israel country. not that we judging the individual more over 1 who hold israel citizenship. dont forget it needs a group of individual to form a country. so banning this individual is kind of form disagreeing with a group of individual who supporting the creation of that country. he is a citizenship lives in israel. he knows that was palestinian land yet he is still proudly presented as isrealis sportsmen. we see the act for 70 years of land taking is wrong. so we show it by not recognizing israel participation.
+james hue you know the 1st israel cricket sport team come to malaysia in 1997 and they can participated in the tournament held here? we have shown how we a multiracial and multicultural country can stay peace for so many years by tolerate between each other and hope they can do the same between the arabs and the jews. but still israel doing war crime until now. for my opinion they dont deserve any human right cause they broke all the human right rule more over to be friends with israel country. surely we lost respect to those who keep doing war crimes, human right abuse and cant receive advise from others.
93 years old , and doing an interview this long for kids to understand his perception and views on domestic and foreign issues. If his questions doesn't satisfy the kids , it's because at his age , he doesn't need to filter anything to be politically correct. I'm not sure what sort of answers some of the entitled ones wanted, but it's rare for a World leader to give a very frank and honest opinion without much filter.
Mudah2an generasi pemimpin yg ada & akan datang di Malaysia setanding atau lebih lagi keberanian, kewibawaan, kepintaran Tun M...long live Tun M! Moga dirahmati Allah selalu...aamiin
It's so embarrassing to listen to the interviewer-cringing in fact. In how many ways does he think he needs to attempt a question?? He should do his homework on the Prime Minister. This is a dialogue not an interrogation.
Honestly answering all those complicated without straight to the point questions would leave me stuttering and speaking with long pauses in a 45 minute session with no BREAKS, i would honestly feel embarrassed and faint later on because of the pressure. Respect to you Mr Mahathir.

They dares to ask about us not allowing Israel athletes into Malaysia just because he's just an athlete and not the 'government' of Israel. Wth. Israel literally taking other people's land by killing a lot of innocent children and women which happens to be just a normal citizens of Palestine (just like the athletes of Israel) and this dumbass moderator just closed his ears and eyes on this matter and let the things slide while claiming our PM being racist on not letting Israel athlete set foot on our land.
