Family owned business that makes a good product...hopefully stays that way. A lot of these trailer firms have been gobbled up by big money interests and it's all about cutting costs and cutting corners wherever possible to make the investors happy.

My last Diamond C dump trailer looked like new after 2 years of use. Even the floor had very little wear and I hauled a lot of broken concrete, bricks, gravel, sand etc. I sold it for more than I paid new so for me this paint system was the "difference maker." Thanks Diamond C.

It brilliant ! The whole process. The whole place. Thank you for sharing.. I own a competitor 5 year old gooseneck 20 foot dump trailer black with yellow sticker 🤪. Coating underneath peels off in 2 foot long sections. Whole trailer needs a paint job but looks great still from across the street. Also watched your dump trailer video and my floor is buckling like you mentioned. Very early on we installed 2 layers of 5/8"plywood. Bottom layer length wise. Top layer width wise. It definitely saved my trailer years of life. ...... Now I want one of yours 😁

Most people just dont realize ...powder can be Great , But metal will rust under the Mill scale so will adventually break powder coat . I seen it myself but didnt realize why until taking my old trailer appart . Great Job Thank You

HAY FOLKS, ANYBODY NOTICED THAT DIAMOND C IS REALLY THE ONLY TRAILER MANUFACTOR THAT EXPLAINS TO YOU THE HOW AND THE WHY. I GUESS THIS IS WHAT MAKES THEM THE NUMBER 1. THEY ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR WAYS TO MAKE THERE TRAILERS BETTER, NOT HOW CAN WE CUT CORNERS,TO SAVE MONEY. IF YA WANT A ROLLS ROYCE YA GONA PAY FOR A ROLLS ROYCE. CHEAP JUST DOESN,T CUT IT.

Ive got a flat deck from someone else that was built in 2002, the paint is just starting to get worn today. And it’s used here in the salt belt. It’s a custom series 2x 5200lb axle 18’ flat deck with 2’ beaver tail on it. Only part that has sucked is the wiring, scotch locks everywhere that are failing. Have taken them all out and soldered and shrink wrapped all connections now. Debating on a new trailer with larger axles currently

Got a flashback to watching Bill Nye The Science Guy as a kid! This video was very informative in every detail, it was a brain full dose of knowledge and history of how the DM coating came about! Awesome to see the process and how intentional every inch of the building is, very thoughtful! Another great video!!! Keep up the great work!!! Every video just keeps getting better and better!!!

I bought a 21’ gooseneck tilt from the competition…2021 model. It definitely had finish issues, especially on the coupler. Does Diamond DM coating prevent that? I’m in the market for a replacement tilt gooseneck trailer. Thanks for this video! Excellent story and info! Subbed. Liked.

Diamond C is the trailer company that cares. When you spend 15k on a dump trailer and 20-30k on a gooseneck I expect the paint to last and look good. It's one of the last steps in building a trailer and there is no excuse to make it right. We've got 3 "Small Tex" dump trailers and all of them look rough. The newest 16ft dump looks terrible after only a year and a half. The powder coast is rubbed off on all the wear points, peeling in most places, faded where it isnt peeling, and is coated right over weld bb's, slag, porosity and some mill scale left behind. Just the finishing of a trailer for work that fails... is frustrating to say the least when you spend so much to begin with. We will be making the switch to Diamond C even if we have to drive a ways to the dealer to pick them up.

Hello and thanks for sharing that process. I have been looking at different brands of trailers for awhile trying to decide on which one to go with. You are right in that some don't use primer and even the ones that do the top coat is often so thin you can see the primer through it. Do you have a quality check that your trailers go through to inspects welds, fit, function of parts etc. before it goes to paint? I have seen recently on RU-vid people who already owned a Diamond C and bought a second one and the quality was not as good as the first. Hopefully there is a process to check things before it goes to the customer also. Thanks again for all your informative videos as it definitely helps a person decide on which type and brand of trailer to buy.

Wow I ordered mine in late June with TSI Trailers it’s 12 ‘ gooseneck dump trailer with tall sides I just check on status they said delivery mid November 😢 dealership says diamond c having issues with materials 😭 I need my trailer now

@@iamangus4319 I haven't called to check on it yet but the only reason I'm supposed to get it so quickly is they already had trailers on order that were not sold so I was able to use one of those spots for mine thank goodness. But they say good things come to those who wait. I hope there worth the wait and price

Great question! We have a color guide at www.diamondc.com/color-guide/. As far as getting close to your maroon. It would be best to get the color code off of your truck and relay to your dealer for custom quote.

Powder coating rots the steel under it when water is trapped between powder coat and the steel. I wood never buy a powder coated trailer again here in Canada.

Hello there! Powder coat done right with the correct preparation procedures + zinc primer doesn’t allow moisture between the steel and the coating. Many companies skimp out on the preparation and any sort of primer to save on $.

I don’t want to be critical, because your line is impressive. But, media blasting steel, without cleaning it first, is simply impregnating chlorides, and hydrocarbons in the porosity of the steel. Again, your line is impressive, but the quality of a coating system is determined by the hidden areas, of the structure. Use an inspection mirror, a flashlight, and a DFT gauge capable of taking edge readings, to determine the amount of coating in the crevices and out of the way nooks and crannies. Any paint system can be a quality system if the surface preparation, and the coating application is done according to the paint manufacturers data sheet, for the product being applied. Epoxy coatings are going to degrade, when exposed to the sun. Epoxies need to be top-coated with a UV resistant polyurethane. The zinc rich primer is considered a sacrificial coating, that will act as the anode when the coating system is damaged, to help prevent the structural steel from corroding.
