Among all his teammates okumura is the only one who truly acknowledges him and despite always complaining abt his loud voice , accepts him along with it ... it's so sweet ...i want to see their battery flourish as the best ever
They dont know how satisfied is see someone really acknowledge Sawamura, even more if is a catcher like Okumura; before they always talks about Furuya and Sawamura but watch a player who take him seriously is great; remembers me to Chris senpai.
Sawamura really deserved that ace position. He lifts up the mood of the team whenever he's on the mound, plus since he pitches to contact, the defense gets to show off their excellent fielding which I'd assume they prefer compared to just standing there when its Furuya and his fastballs. And he's such a great sempai. I love this guy 🥺
Nah he doesn’t deserved it idk why they gave him the ace number it’s just like giving the hokage position to kakashi while naruto is still there even injured furuya is better than sawamura
@@Encest_5 you clearly didn't see sawamura's development if you think he doesn't deserve to be the ace. furuya's recent performances weren't good at all. it's deserved.
@@Encest_5 i guess u havent seen sawa’s previous performance. man he’s topnotch. he’s becoming unhittable. furuya’s performance havent change at all. it is still good but not the best.
I just realized that Okumura have so much respect to sawamura that he feels like he don't deserve to catch his pitch that's why he kept refusing sawamura and only catch sawamura's pitch if he got into first string
Sawamura is heavily influenced by Miyuki in a good way. The speech about how pitching is an art made by the battery and when he called Okumura his aibō. Back then it was Miyuki who was telling him that stuff but now he's telling that to his kouhai.
@@mayneflynn26 I think Miyuki could invite Furuya or even been teamed up with Narumiya, though. As for Sawamura, I think he would want to show Miyuki all his growth so far by playing against him; therefore, I think that he might be paired up with Chris senpai 🤔
@@mayneflynn26 i more prefer if sawamura and chris as a pair..chris can take sawamura to another different level .. like how he start to teach sawamura about 4 seam and how to control his body..
@@stellpearl8349 Chris taught Sawamura how important it is to develop different parts of the muscle and core to avoid injuries. That really helped Sawamura a metric ton. Imagine Sawamura was facing yips, so many lack of fundamentals and skills, but on top of that being injured. It would have been miserable and maybe impossible to come back from. Chris knew Sawamura's strength and helped him correct his pitching form(as well as the coach). Chris practically created and taught the fundamentals to Sawamura. I too want to see Chris and Sawamura battery when they go pro/college or something.
I love and enjoyed Haikyuu but seriously this one took my top sport anime by miles. The characters development isn't crazy fast but once it happened, it is just so worth all that wait. It is almost slice of life too not just shouen. It makes you really rooting for Sawamura and growing along with him.
Haikyuu and DnA are my favorites, too and I can't really tell which one is better. Both are fun and enjoyable while also have some really meanningful real life lessons. The only difference is how those are portrayed. I think Haikyuu is more popular because people tend to love fast character's development (Haikyuu character's development is just slightly faster than DnA) and more joyful atmosphere (HQ characters didn't get desperate to become a champion like DnA). Moreover, baseball is more complicated than volleyball in my opinion, so for those who don't play any sport (like me), Haikyuu is easier to understand and enjoy.
Diamond no Ace is the only anime that has me come back every so often to look at clips of Sawamura going serious mode while also being himself. It's also the only anime that I can watch the same intence scene over and over again and have goosebumps.
I love how at first.. Sawamura enter Seidou because of Miyuki, then he being taught by Chris senpai and Chris become his favourite senpai, after that,Okumura start to respect Sawamura as a senpai ,learn more about Sawamura and want to become his catcher/partner😄
based on my personal experience, many people stop watching this anime, because in the end, the main character is not believed to be eijun, however furuya 🥴 and this is very frustrating....
@@suckerfor_love I understand your point. But the long build up is what makes it more satisfying than other sports anime like Haikyuu. Haven't you seen the Act II yet?
Act II is the spotlight for Sawamura these first seasons are meant to show the hardships and learning experience for Sawamura which is better instead of being good from the start.
@@robinomana589 alas, I only watched the first season. I am by no means claiming that this is a bad anime, quite the contrary, I think that it has good drawing and styling, as well as well-written characters. btw, I really love anime about sports, however when watching this particular one, I'm a little impatient, because I really like eijun, but for some reason it's like the spotlight was taken away from him.
Can't wait to see this Sawamura-Okumura battery. I just started the anime recently and I'm just on it's Second season and I'm here looking for spoilers. I'm honestly surprised this is not being hyped enough in the anime community. I hated myself for sleeping on this gem for so long. This just became my fave sports anime now. I really love Sawamura to the core. The best ACE Seido could ever have! He's so loud and annoying at times, but he's the source of strength, inspiration, and positive energy of the team. Hopefully they'll give us Season 4 very soon. Edit: Finished Act II few weeks ago and I was able to catch up on the manga as well. Damn, I want Season 4 so much. 🙏💜
I love this new Eijun - A RELIABLE, COOL SENPAI. HE HAS MY FULL RESPECT ❤ I haven't watched the Act II yet since I waited for it to finish but didn't know that it has 52 episodes only. Anyways, I'm so excited to watch it 😊😊😊🔥
One of the best sports anime... it is the first anime which made me cry like a baby... I am surprised most people don't even know about this cause like it's on par with Haikyuu.. Season 1 is of course frustating a bit regarding the third years leave and Furuya stealing the spotlight but this is what makes it interesting! Rather than being good from the start its really interesting to see Eijun's development in season 2 and 3.. It's really satisfying... I highly recommend it.. You don't even realize how attached you feel toward the characters! Hope there will be a news of season 4 soon!!
@@KS-ks6wz I know right! My otaku friend recommended it to me.. and yeah at first I was just so frustated cause Furuya was stealing the spotlight.. but when they lost the match and third years were going to leave.. I swear I was crying like a baby cause it showed how much I already felt connected with the characters.. They are very lovable, hardworking.. After the first season Eijun's character development is just so satisfying that you just feel that the episodes are so short.. I don't say that it's par with Haikyuu based on nothing.. Everyone just watch it's season 1 only and if you don't watch season 2 then sorry your taste..u-umm!!
@@christinathapa3139 @Jay ES I agree with you two.. It deserves more international characters and it is on par with haikyuu!! This is my fav sports anime too!!
@@christinathapa3139 yeah at this point Daiya is just slowly spreading thru the intl community by word of mouth. Hoping season 4 would get enough hype to attract non-fans 😬
I freaking love there relationship so much! They're have such great chemistry not just as battery but outside it to. I wanna see more of them. They makes the best dynamic duo battery and there moments just hits different!
I love that Okumura keeps his promise to Eijun❣️ Unlike the other playboy catcher who plays favourite, and even broke his promises to Eijun. I hate him so much but I love him (⇀‸↼‶)
I love Diamond no Ace and I especially love almost everyone, if not practically, everyone from Seido and other outside rivaling teams! Yes that includes the amazing pitchers, catchers, batters and support!
Im crying...Mc maybe an idiot, but he keeps his senpais learnings in his heart. Wether its about baseball or just casual life advices. He may not notice it, but he's an intelligent guy, just slow and poor in academics 😂
@@ninetailsnet well I guess you can be glad we didn't bet anything, because I did lol (In fact, I have seen myself surprised at this, and I also find baseball to be such an interesting sport. I have lots to learn since there isn't almost any baseball in my country but I'm willing to)
I don't really like him before, he's interesting but pretty mean as a senior and his character is a bit nasty (was mad at him at some moments). But now that he acts as a real captain and senior, I can't help but fell for him. Damn cool guy... Ps : i cried when the former 3rd years retired, I'm gonna cry for the 2nd time on his turn
@@dalasnah1842 haha you're actually right and i cannot explain this clearly but i love his expressions. It doesn't matter for me, when he is mean or a nice captain for his team, he is just perfect. Cause i feel like he is a little sarcastic and really intelligent. And i can still remember when Sawamura went to the Seidou for the first time and for just visiting, Kazuya felt his potential power and his character (i mean he is the "Ace") and also tried to show his 'potential' power to everyone (firstly to himself). This makes me crazy because he is also a crazy person lol. And when he became a captain for the team, that was... a crazy moment. I can't forget his feelings about his teammates and i like his sarcastic expressions even he is a captain lol
I really want to see miyuki to be jealous but the way things are going in manga miyuki is irritating sawamura a lot...I really hope they clear their misunderstanding soon
Miyuki knows the potential both Sawamura and Furuya have, and also knows that he will no longer be in the team after the summer tournaments; therefore, he encouraged the both of them to pair with the new catchers since they will spend another year with them.
@@selvisoundarya7686 Yeah. It was just a misunderstanding but that might influence the current game if Sawamura doesn't stop thinking about it while in the game 🤔
I've been skipping this anime for so long coz I always thought that Major is the best baseball anime but now im stuck here waiting for the new chapter in manga. It's my third time already watching this anime. HELP!! ಥ‿ಥ
Well, for starter, the train scene caught me off guard and here I am watching and reading this anime. Pretty sure the diamond in the title have 2 different meaning to me by now.
I watched both DNA n Haikyuu. I can say I like haikyuu more because the author make all characters likeable even for opponent groups, author focus fair attention to kageyama and hinata while in DNA author make me hate miyuki and furuya...I can't let go that feeling easily 😅
I understand your hate for Miyuki and Furuya(I actually hate Furuya more because he always stole the spotlight for Sawamura and the author always give Sawamura a problem every time he is pitching while Furuya has a nice game) and I hate Miyuki sometimes because he didn't acknowledge Sawamura or even help him when he has a yips(actually not only him but the entire team for that matter because they didn't help him when he need them the most) and for sometimes prioritizing Furuya over Sawamura "because he is the ace", it's just make me mad sometimes but I still like the battery of Miyuki x Sawamura and I'm so excited for future Okumura x Sawamura battery.
Seidou audience panel of this anime r nuts. They get on my nerves. Swammamur plays good nd do excellent pithching that even opposite players get astonished but the audience dont acknowledge him properly or cheer on him most of the time they just know how to bully him 😡
This anime is waaay popular in the past even before youtube reaction.. the problem is the way the MC get treated by the author.. the slow pace is okay but season 1 is basically MC being side character and nobody need to see the next season whereas the golden season is the 3rd one which is the MC season... so propbably never
