Thanks for sharing. I have just started diamond painting and am happy to get this information. I was not looking forward to having to go through “trial and error” to learn about the different companies on AliExpress. I like the cheaper prices I can get by buying from China but not if the quality is poor.
Thank you There are many great companies on Ali Express and many of them aren't poor quality. Use youtube videos to help you decide what companies to use.
Zooya and HOMFUN are 2 of my favourite stores Zooya ship so fast though they have started shipping all their canvases in the bubble tubes but if you send them a message at the time of ordering and request it to be shipped in a box they will do that
Try laying something heavy on the canvas and let it stay that way for about a week or so to see if that will let the glue hold more firmly. Some of the companies suggest when you finish a painting to lay something heavyon the canvases. This pictures look beautiful.
I've had things on top of it for a few weeks lay flat but it didn't seem to help. I've put it in a frame now so they can be held in with the glass. LOL
About the burrs on the drills, I hold them against a hard surface with a placer and cut the burr off with an X=Acto knife. A lot of work, but the drills are square.
Oh no I've just ordered a custom 50 x 100 in squares. I will be gutted if it is no good. It will be my first custom and first square drills too. Beautiful work thank you for sharing x x
Thank you for sharing your experience. My experience mirrors yours. Just a note on Huacan - they are now shipping square canvases without grid lines. I received one a couple of days ago. I am trying to reserve judgement until I do the painting. However, due to eyesight issues, I rely on grid lines to get the drills to fit. I hope this is not a trend that everyone goes to. Round canvases without circles are wonderful to work on, so I shall see.
I'm currently finishing my second of two Huacan canvasses that I ordered. The first (round, full) had the wrong color in the kit. I contacted them and they said they were sending the correct color but I haven't received them yet. The second (square, full) is having the same canvas issues you mentioned. I'm forever using my rolling pin to fix popped drills but it doesn't seem to end. I'm also precariously close to running out of a color.
I have had the same issue with square drills, I find you have to put a heavy book on top for a few days. That worked for me. I really like round drills the best.
I know this is an old vlog but I recently bought 2 DP'S from Huacan and have had no problems whatsoever, arrived undamaged, sq drill were pretty much ok-would order from them again. Saying that, I'm giving Homfun a try next.
I ran out of diamonds with a huacan custom, it wasn't just one colour it was 8! Messaged the seller with the 8 colours I ran out of and they said they would send them. They arrived 2 weeks later and only sent 6 out of the 8 colours, so just bought the missing colours myself
@@create557 I bought my spare drills from diamond-paintings. Co. UK. Excellent quality, 30p a bag and arrived within 2 days. There is also smiths beads. That's if you in the UK x
I got a partly finished Huacan square painting from my sister, and it has the popping drills problem. It makes you not want to work on it when you know the drills are just going to pop up and fall off.
Well all ive had with Huacan and Cherry's answers are totally insane they obviously are having quality control, if she said their improving them right, and why would she comment were improving our quality control well to me that says something now you see huacan covers on Amazon here in the USA they are spreading themselves too thin they use to be alot better Stick with Zooya, HomeFun, Ever Moments by far more expensive but the best another great company Naifei Zhang the owner is a doll to work with ive made many video's on my page we all need to review as your doing it helps all of us
I haven’t watched the video yet but I’m going to later (I have to get to bed…got that famous thing that everyone has…work lol) but I have gotten three Diamond paintings from Humfun for my birthday last year and they are amazing as heck but…my only issue is that, I ran out of drills on all of three of them…I want to buy more from them but should I ask if I can get more drills from them if I do? And I got my first square Diamond painting from huacan. A friend of mine LOVES this company so I got my first square from them. Popping drills all over the place. I love them but man the drills are really popping. It dosent bother me to the point where I’m like “I don’t want to work on this anymore” cause I love it but I have read some of the comments and some are saying put something heavy on your painting when it’s done so I’m going to try that when I’m finished with it
I've tried to get more drills from Homfun in the past, it didn't work well. Best asking on a 'got diamonds' Facebook group in your country and someone will post you some of their spares.
Had nothing but problems from Huacan. Their customer service is terrible, I didn't get any help from Ali Express. Very disappointed. I love Ever Moment, they may be more but they are worth it.
Hi Rebecca, Have you ever done paintings from Baifengchaoyang Store (located on AliExpress)? Was just wondering if you had and your thoughts about it. I've seen some paintings I wanted to try but since I have not ordered from AliExpress yet I wasnt sure if they were good. Thanks
Hi Sandie, I've not tried them, I try to test out different manufacturers when I find ones I like. Maybe send me a link to one and I'll see if any take my fancy and let you know.
Hi darl. I have just found your videos and l just want to tell you thank you, and l appreciate you. I am working a 90 x 70 square drill, and I'm having so much trouble keeping the drills straight. Is there a trick to this, please? Hi from Australia
I asked for a DP for Christmas. It's a large full square drill from Huacan. I'm pretty sure it was purchased for me. Now I'm very hesitant about it. Should I try it out if it comes or just repurchase room another store? What to do.
Hi, I'd still try it. Not all I've had have been problematic. I've even had 3 arrive together and only one have problems - which I think is more the canvas not being sticky which is fixable.
I recently did a huacan and it drove me nuts the dark drills all had stuff on the edges the blacks were different sizes. I am very hesitant to order from them again
I absolutely HATE huacan. I'm so discouraged to do my first and now last diamond painting from them since it came in such bad shape im not sure im going to bother.
Do you seal your paintings when framing? Ever moment tweezers awesome. No trash in their 310 drills. Thumbs up. Doing Huacan at moments. Some drills lifting. I use my roller by pressing it very firmly down on canvas and push it all direction. Not rolling. That seems to work for me.
I don't tend to seal my paintings as most are put behind glass so I don't feel the need. I do roll the ones I've done, but I agree Ever Moments quality is just unbeatable.
You have mentioned several times about IKEA frames. Where do you purchase from? Is this something that is local to you or can be ordered online? And why do you like those frames?
I'm considering buying my first aliexpress diamond painting. However, I wanted to order one from huacan and one from homfun and after your review I'm really doubting about that... Do you know if huacan still has all those issues with the square drills? And is homfun still that good? 😊
