No one ever shows preparing diamond paintings fully. But as a new sub, I have been watching all your videos, and I love long videos to start off with. I found this to be extremely up my alley as they say! I loved watching you get your drills into containers, and even more exciting was how you prepared your painting using the washy tapes! I live with my partner in a small apartment, and I have to use our kitchen table as part of where I store my dry goods, so I am left with my computer desk as an end all be all for everything! I do my diamond painting on top of my laptop! I'm 74, so I've had a lifetime of making ends meet somehow. I started off only a year ago doing diamond painting. Before that I was doing adult coloring, but as every good craft begins...I soon was trying out diamond painting! I started with a 30 x 30cm one...but soon got bored with a small Painting. Our apartment is very small and our wallspace is even smaller! LOL! So I have various sizes of plastic folders where I am storing the finished ones, and under the bed they go! I am currently doing mostly 40cm x 30cm ones. I have done 2 slightly larger ones and they are framed and hanging on our walls. But for the most part, I am sticking with the 40cm x 30cm. I DO have 2 individual ladies with vintage outfits that are 30cm x 60cm. I bought 2 pictures for the odd frames and got them at half off, so I wound up getting 2 for $30 at Hobby Lobby! I just have to remove the "SUBWAY" writing on the glass inside! LOL! I have a question for the group. IF I don't have FACEBOOK, how do I get to know when things are happening, like the beautiful ADVENT CALENDAR I missed this year? I don't know how to get the things that are sold on this channel either. I'm an old gal, so you have to be a little easier with me. After I learn something though, I always remember. God bless you, Rebecca, and all of this channel. I have LOADS of videos to watch to learn things. I might even try to make my own version of the 2022 Advent Calenday, seeing it's sold out. How do I keep in touch IF it should ever be restocked? I'd LOVE TO BE ALERTED! THANKX TO EVERYONE WHO IS HELPING ME! I KNOW YOU"RE TERRIBLY BUSY, REBECCA. YOU ARE SO SWEET!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. All things like the Advent Calendar are talked about and announced on RU-vid too. We normally announce the new shop launch items on the first (sometimes second) Saturday of the month and they release for sale the Friday after. They also show up on the website so that you can be emailed to be notified. 💕 All things I mention that are from my shop can be found on my website: www.addmorezest.com There is also sections on the site like Videos, that make finding tips and tricks and other specific video types that you might be interested in. They then link to RU-vid. A link for the Advent Calendar will be available to sign up for and email when it's in stock, this will be in my shop over the next couple of weeks. I hope that helps.
Suggestion: When emptying the little bags of drills into the container think about setting each container on a drill tray so if any drills pop out they'll fall into the tray that can slide off into the container instead of falling onto your table surface. Also working on a piece of parchment paper or plastic cutting mat will help pick things up to easily move if the need arises. Thanks for all your videos and sharing your process of diamond painting.
I like to dump the packets into a bead tray (triangular shape) on top of a bead mat. Then you can scoop up quickly anything that falls off the side and funnel them into the containers. There are seed bead scoops that help putting beads into tubes as well that can be useful for the smaller openings.
I'm working on Moon Goddess, A Garfield Christmas, We Care, All Dogs Go To Heaven (had to put my Lhaso Alpso down the Tues after Christmas wasn't a fun New Years) and a couple of 30x40's. Since I'm retired I do a section on each one. This way I don't get bored working on just one. My plan this year is Mon-Tues diamond painting, Wed. Knitting/Quilting, Thur-Fri diamond painting and Sunday Spinning Yarn to make socks. I'm doing my storage after you, I've learned a lot from watching you thank you so much for all you've taught us.
It looks so pretty all kittied up. By the end it seemed that one of the second smaller container was misplaced, but it looks great for bigger paintings
Love listening to your videos while I diamond paint. You have a soothing voice. I’m working on a dragon - I consider it large but it’s half the size of your tree! 55x95. My favorite storage is a gem tray. I’ve found it to work the best for me.
I wanted to get into diamond painting and that's actually how I found your channel. Your prep vids made realize that it is absolutely not a hobby for me - I'd lose patience and give up half-way through the prep alone. Still, going to keep watching and vicariously enjoy diamond paintings through your work. Thanks!
I do like how you do your manicure, nice to stand out . Again another good video, always love them. This painting is going to be beautiful. I saw that one a couple weeks ago and I thought it was beautiful. I have those trays and they are my favorite I ordered some of the larger containers. Nice that they are customizable.
Just got a text that my first group of canvases that I ordered are at my local post office. Should receive tomorrow. Ordered on April 28th so not too bad. Waiting on about 12 others. Yeah. I went crazy during quarantine.
Here’s a suggestion when using the Darice/Elizabeth Ward Storage System: have two of them available so you can switch out containers when kitting up. Hope this helps. 🤓
I also have a brew while doing my diamond paintings... except mine is of the fermented barley and hops variety 😂 Love the long videos and watching your thought process of kitting up/preparing!
I love this storage system and also have the Lockables. My 28 storage lids are too lose for me to use. I do love the storage pots that you use for your HAED..... may need to invest in one! Awesome video as always Rebecca! 😊💕
I'm new to the diamond painting and I've been watching tons of video's and i have to say this video of diamonds sorting is the one I think I will be using to sort my beads. ty this is helpful.
Here in the US, we can get the Xyron sticker maker and repositionable refills from Amazon. I’m currently working on an eye painting I got from Ali Express and Golden Elf from DIYMoon Shop.
Qianzehui says their round bags are ~400. They give loads of extras! If you ask them for an inventory list, they will send an image of an Excel spreadsheet that has a column for the number needed, a multiplier for extra drills and the number of bags that corresponds to the number with extra drills divided by 400 and rounded up. They often throw in a bag or two above and beyond the number of extras. They aren't quite so good with their squares...I think they get the squares from a different place as they come with an inventory sheet, the regular little bags of drills and an opaque cover.
I wondered if you’d use these containers again. I looked at getting them but went with the pots one like your HAED but mine only has 30. When my Ever Moment custom comes in I may need to order a bigger thing. I’m currently working on my second to last painting in my stash, a 50x35 picture of Elsa, Anna and Olaf for my daughters room. I’m just getting started but it looks like it’s going to turn out really cute! I’m also working on figuring out the sealing and framing of some of these. And setting up my long term storage which I’m going to do after finishing this section of diamond painting lol.
I am working on the same size as you.... It's the Quianzahui waterfall 😊 It's absolutely gorgeous!! I've already done a cottage one by them and it turned out fabulous but finding a frame to fit it.... That's another problem 🤔
I have a few of the 28 case storage. My problem is I diamond paint around 2 3 year olds and they’ve gotten knocked over when I’ve had a row out and spilled more than one color. I’m on my second painting with a 30 pot case and I’m loving it. I’m thinking about getting a 60 pot for bigger paintings but I also work in the living room and don’t have tons of room.
That's my problem too, taking up too much space in the front room and turning it into another craft room. The pot cases are great though. I might treat myself to a 30 pot one soon.
Suggestion: * Pick up a plastic storage container(s) to keep your painting items organized and together. * The painting canvas can be attached with pinch holders to a slim velted coat hanger. The cost hanger can be hung on the back of a door on a wreath holder so it's right against the door surface. * The plastic storage containers can slide into a closet, under a chair or couch or hid behind something when not in use. * Use a small foldable tray table to set your needed items on while working on your painting when spending time with the family. Easily stored away when not in use.
i ordered some diamond painting kits of things that will help and they are coming tomorrow with two diamond painting i’m so excited i still have to finish the one i’m on first tho😂🤦🏼♀️
I'm waiting for a diamond painting to arrive that is 80cm x 110cm full drill. I just finished my first ever painting the other day which was a full drill 50cm x 40cm picture. I couldn't go small to start with could I?
That would drive me batty..I would have had to put the rest of the white in the empty ones, and if some more still empty, that drk blue would work. That way, I would know exactly what was in them...but that is just my OCD at work. Lol...looks great
The one I’m doing is a40x30 it is the second time doing the same picture, first one was to small,to make out anything,it is a unicorn with butterflies and waterfall and rainbow,it is for my second Grand daughter, then I need to finish My Son’s Bass Fish,Then I will do one for Me it is Diamond Art Club Tree of Life,Thank You for sharing Your time with us
I’m finishing DD “macaw” which is a large Toucan. Guess they don’t their birds. I just got 2 new ones from Diamond Art Club. Don’t know which one I’ll start.
I’m new to diamond painting, I haven’t even started my first picture yet, I still can’t figure out how to read the legend. It’s a 12x12 partial drill , since I’m a procrastinator I’m setting a 9 month goal for myself.
When I get static in glass beads I use the method of breathing into the tube or bag to cut the static. Like when you breathe on a window to draw in the fog that is created. I would be intrested to know if it works for the dimonds too. If anyone gives this a try Please let me know.
You should consider purchasing a Zyron label maker, make a color copy of your legend, run it through the Zyron on the repositionable adhesive, cut your labels and place them on your containers. The Zyron can be purchased from Amazon. Enjoyed your video. 😊
@@addmorezest I bought one from C&C and quite honestly I dont know what all the fuss is about. It leaves little bits behind so you end up wasting a ton of time snipping ut all off. If you still haven't got one yet, dont bother.
Im going to order the tools for the diomand painting but I don't know what picture or size to get on the canvas (it's gonna be my first time doing it) any recommendations!
Where you buy the Container for the diamond painting stones. I looked So long for good Containers for my stones. I love looked the Video to preparing the stones for New diamond painting pictures. Many greetings from Germany
It's a scotch tape dispenser for their Magic Tape. Similar to this, but I currently can't find a link to them, so I'm not sure if they still do the desk ones: www.amazon.co.uk/Scotch-Pop-up-Tape-Dispenser-Gift/dp/B000XSPEPA
Big ones are rolled up and put in the box them came in. I have a video on how I store by 30x40s here: addmorezest.com/diamondpainting/storage (it's the display book video)
I have been searching for the two and a half inch bags that you use to store your leftover drills and I cannot find a store that handles them so I can make my photo box with the three slats like you have can you guide me as to where to purchase these I have asked several times but I don't know if I've ever made a direct connection with you or not
Not sure if you know, but you can order extra containers for these, in pkg of 2-6 depending on the size of the containers. Then you can add more of the size you need. Just trade them out.
Hi Lisa, thank you. Yes I did know, but I'm not sure how much I like them at the moment. They don't tend to be nice to my nails, but they're good to have for some projects.
I know I’m late! But I love doing diamond paintings there so much I’m working on my 4th one I did starry night an bff one an I did the kiss by Klimt an n I’m working on the flower one by Klimt ❤️💝
I am new to Diamond Painting and have had a couple kits that have “rivers?” In the sticky surface. What do you do to correct this? It is very frustrating to me to have a row of diamonds higher than the rest of the picture. HELP PLEASE!!!!
I often just slice the rivers with a craft knife and flatten them out. I've also got a video on dealing with a really bad canvas that may help with the tougher ones. you can find it here: 4kidsat147.com/diamondpainting/tips
I am just now recently started in diamond painting because i finally got some money to get one. The one i will be receiving will be a gift for my dad. It is a picture of my grandma (she passed recently, June 20th, currently July 14th) so I'm super excited and I'm planning on getting more
HOW TO DO UPLOAD AS A CUSTOM ? TO MAKE HEAVEN AND EARTH? AND they have cross stitch the DMC colors so how do you make it into a diamond painting kit is it a custom
The Heaven and Earth is not done from a custom image, it's a blank canvas and one of their patterns. My customs tend to be from Ali Express, I mainly use Ever Moment.
I'm in that "hurry up and wait" mode...waiting for my custom to get here on that SLOW boat from China. It's been sitting there since July 3rd....has not moved.😴😴😴
I’m waiting for a load to come from Aliexpress lol. They are Anime ones. Attack on Titan and lots of The Untamed which is a series on Netflix. But while I wait I’m doing one from Amazon called Painting of the Emotional Life it’s massive 120cms long by 50cms.
What is that grey thing you have your tape in?? It looks so easy to get them cut... You have a link?? By the way, thank you for not cutting the video down, I love to just listen to you talk and do it in your speed!:-) Big Love Form Norway!
Hi Alex, it came with the scotch tape I got about 5 years ago. I've only seen the ones that you get on your wrist since. I'm not sure if it was a promotion. Search for scotch tape strips near you and they might be available.
I do not see any advantage in opening every last packet into containers before starting the painting. If you spill a large container, you may lose too many drills.
No. I reuse this and only use it while I’m working on the painting. Once it’s done I put the spares in little zip lock bags and use it for the next painting.
