When My Craft Joy contacted me and asked if I would be interested in reviewing a custom diamond painting from them I wasn't quite sure.
Over the years I have seen so many custom diamond paintings of people that just look really bad that I've always avoided getting any done.
But My Craft Joy are a completely new company to me so I have to admit that I was curious.
I had a look at their website and saw that they don't just simply scan images for customs and send them out.
They take time look at the picture and will adjust the brightness and contrast, optimize the colour and crop and frame the image so that the subject is the main focus of the picture.
Ok, so they don't just scan the image and send out a diamond painting.
Now I'm more interested.
I chose a picture of my wife and I standing in front of a cherry tree in Tivoli Gardens with Copenhagen City Hall tower in the background.
I proposed to my wife in front of that tree (Yes, I did go down on one knee) and we got married in Copenhagen City Hall.
So I emailed the picture off to them and waited, the only stipulation I made was that it should be square drills. I would leave everything else up to them, including the size.
So this is my very first look at the kit.
The first thing that struck me was how pink the image looked but I can see that the colours on the canvas don't match the colours of the drills.
So this is going to be a very interesting one to work on and watch how it transforms as the drills are placed.
When I finish it, I'll hang it on the wall behind me so you can get a good look at it from a decent viewing distance and decide what you think of it.
I'll also be doing a few RU-vid Lives as I work on it , so you can drop in and see the progress as I go.
