On Friday my friend Amelia had a woodworking class with me in 7th grade…she looked at me in 7th period and asked sheepishly if I could do her homework as her family had a get together that Sunday and did not want a Zero-I happily accepted as I liked her secretly…during the weekend I helped her project and placed all plans in her little notebook she gave me on Sunday. I was excited to gain some “points” with her. On Monday she was not in class (had her in 3rd period also) there was an announcement in 4th period to please give a moment of silence for a student who who drowned in lake . My friend had died -Amelia. I clutched her homework tightly and began to cry. Students around me was like what is wrong? I am 56 years old and stil have her homework. I miss my friend today and sad she was taken away so soon. Today I am traumatized by water and drowning. Thanks for reading as this song gives me remembrance to such a beautiful person…

October 2001, our Army National Guard unit was called to Active Duty. I left my wife and 2 sons behind as we were sent to Ft Benning, GA. They flew down for spring break in 2002, and they stayed with me for one of the best weeks of my life. We had just finished our breakfast, and I was about to take them to the airport. The boys didn't want to go. We had never heard this song before, and it came on in the Bob Evans restaurant in Columbus, GA. In the chorus, we looked at each other... and the tears rolled. The boys started comforting their mother and apologized. They didn't notice my tears. We didn't get one more day then, but God has blessed us all these years with a strong marriage and many more days. Two more deployments were tough, but our faith in God and the love of our country got us through. This song has a special place in our hearts, and we tear up in remembrance of that day every time we hear it, as if we were just yesterday. We pray for many more days to come. 4,279 days ago, my wife almost died of Sudden Cardiac Arrest. I've never prayed harder for one more day. She survived and every day since has been gravy. Thanks for this song! Every anniversary we listen to it and remember we got more than one more day.

On Wednesday afternoon I took my wife to the ER for breathing problems. Her oxygen was critically low and CO2 very high. They treated her with a bipap machine and her levels started to move in the right direction and she was moved to the ICU to continue treatment. On Thursday the doctor said she’d stay 3 or 4 days to be sure everything was stable and be released to go home. On Friday a lady from Hospice comes in and basically asks if she wanted to die there at the hospital or at home and we were in total shock. Now in a few hours a hospital bed and other medical equipment will be delivered to the house so she can come home for the last time, short of God performing a miracle. So I woke up in the early morning and this song came to mind as I was thinking of all the hopes and dreams that would go unrealized. It was a little over a year ago things were so different and we bought this house and we’re looking to life ahead together. But only weeks after getting moved in we both got Covid. I recovered but it took its toll on her already compromised lungs and she never was able to leave supplemental oxygen for very long. And so now as I think about the prospect of watching her die, essentially suffocating to death it is nearly too much. I’m bawling like a baby as try to write. But I’ve said many times that none of us are promised tomorrow and that became even more real this week. At least I have the comfort of knowing we have a relationship with Jesus and He is our Savior. We will meet again and have not just one more day, but an eternity of one more days. And then with new, whole bodies, with unlimited breath. Amen!

They went onto to raise the rest of us their children, but there was always this air of sadness about them, though they his it so well. They are both with him again, and now I... My dad passed away when Covid hit the nation, luckily he wasn't infected with it but losing him still hurts. There isn't a day that I don't think about him, he was a man that liked to fish and fry up whatever he caught, and it's the little things like going fishing with him that I miss. I’m currently watching my mother fade away with a brain tumour. It’s horrific. She can’t even stand up any longer. She is so confused and looks like a different person, acts like it too. It’s like she’s already gone, but she’s still alive. Im it makes grieving and accepting things very difficult. I’m finding it so hard to watch someone I love and cherish so much suffer this way. I miss seeing her name on my phone when I’d get a call from her, I miss seeing her dance to her favourite songs, I miss her being there… I miss my mum. I love my oldest son to cancer 14 years ago today (01/10/2022) at the age of 13. He is now officially gone longer than he lived. I am doing well. Life is happy. But he is there every day. Happy and sad exist together. That is the lesson I have learned. I can't wait to see him again.

My beautiful mother, who has been in the hospital since May 28th was found unresponsive Monday night. She was revived, but there is no sign of brain activity among other things. I know she is already gone, but just knowing she is physically here is somehow comforting. We as a family had to make the hardest decision ive ever had to make yesterday. Tomorrow she will be taken off of life support. She was the most kind, loving and caring person i have ever known, and i am forever grateful for the time ive had with her. Only my strong faith in Jesus Christ has brought me through the pain. Yes, I would like one more day, but like the song says you would just want another day with your loved one. My husband died suddenly last year....I didn't get to say goodbye or I love you.....I just got a call that he was gone. Today I got in the car to take our dog to the vet that is just a couple miles from our home, and this song came on the radio shortly after I started the car and played long enough for us to get to the vets office.
