Her episode #1 performance of "Can't Help Falling in Love" is perhaps the best known. This is one of my favorites from her. Some of her techniques you just do not hear from other vocalists (not counting the contralto)

Diana is the most extraordinary singer in the world. You need to listen to a lot of her stuff - as she has been singing on stage since she was 8 years old and she is now 20. Listen to everything and you will be shocked and fascinated. She's not exactly a singer - she's a mythical Siren and you can hear it. And you will follow her voice - obeying your soul, as millions of people followed. Now she has the title of Queen of chills (goosebumps).

There is another person backing the vocal.

It's a paradox, but after Diana performs any cover, the desire to listen to the original artist disappears .... only Diana ..!! It's an over 300 year old folk song about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song. I'm not sure how many people appreciate the emotional gasps she produces here that absolutely melt me.

When this song was released, performed by Linda, she already had a peculiar performance. This was a television show where the singers were all subject to sing in a different genre each week for two months and Diana was easily the youngest and least established singer, at the age of 18. The show where the orphans and disadvantaged children were featured was called You Are Super and that was when Diana was 14-15 years old featuring Dernière Danse, Human, Wicked Game, Blizzard, It's a Man's Man's World, and Rechenka (over the course of two seasons). for those who do not know Diana's back story, here is a brief outline : abused and abandoned as a child....was MUTE...raised for years in a Russian orphanage...her adoptive Mum provided voice and singing lessons as trauma therapy...Diana is a natural Contralto, rare and the lowest type of female vocalist...is polyphonic ( able to sing multiple tones or notes simultaneously )....and she is a divine performer........

No, this contest is not for young people from dysfunctional homes or orphans, this contest was between 9 Russian song stars, for 9 Saturday nights, each program was watched by a great Russian singer with a great career, the judges were the same singers who voted for each other.
