Marina Tsvetaeva wrote the poem "In a huge city" back in 1916 after breaking off relations with her beloved Sofia Boyuk and returning to her husband and daughter. It was a period of depression, mental emptiness and insomnia in a huge city. Very modern, isn't it? :-( The poetess explained her unusual connection very simply and succinctly. She said that love between women is wild, and loving only men is very boring. But she called her relationship with Sofia "the first disaster in her life." The rhythm of the song resembles the steps of a lonely, insomniac woman in a deserted nighttime huge city. Diana and Brandon brilliantly conveyed the state of mind of the poetess at that time. Марина Цветаева написала стихотворение "В огромном городе" в далёком 1916 году после разрыва отношений со своей возлюбленной Софьей Парнюк и возврата к своему мужу и дочери. Это был период депрессии, душевной пустоты и бессонницы в огромном городе. Очень современно, не правда ли? Свою необычную связь поэтесса объяснила очень просто и емко. The Russian language is complicated in that its logic of construction is generally different from European and Asian languages. They communicate in images. You need to understand what image is embedded in the meaning, words are secondary. Very often, Russian words do not directly designate the subject being spoken about. Everything is based on images and metaphors, so Russians often told me when I was studying in Russia, “again, you didn’t understand anything, this is not what we’re talking about at all” :) It’s a very complex language, dude. Да, Вы правы. Когда я вижу перевод не просто русского языка, а русской поэзии, на внглийский язык, я понимаю, что эти два текста - имеют разное содержание. В этой песне Дианы Анкудиновой - стихи великой поэтесы М.Цветаевой, творчество не самое простое для понимания даже для русских. Надеюсь, творчество Высоцкого, Цветаевой, к которому прикасается молодая, уникальная, мудрая Диана, проникает в души людей, сквозь языковые барьеры.
Но вы не отчаивайтесь...в этой песне надо просто отдаться образам ночного города Прогуляйтесь летней ночью и вы увидите все эти тени,огни,ветер навстречу ,музыку вдали и тд сорвите цветок...прикусите листик дерева...и почувствуйте себя наедине с огромным городом
