Many singers do not even attempt to sing this because it has a very heavy legacy in minds of the people who love Vysotsky especially because it sounds like his Swan song. As others said you missed the ending where she says that even her own people advised her to not bother with this song, but in my opinion she nailed it like no other, one of my personal favorites of hers. I would dare say it is a masterpiece, and i do not even like slow poetry songs.

This song is a tragedy, a prayer.... this song of a man standing before the eyes of death. Kony is a life that we whip without thinking about the end.... and at the end we ask you not to rush the horses, go one step....Very heavy song.

Жаль, что иностранцы не могут полностью понять текст песни. Просто в их языке нет такого количества синонимов на одно и то же понятие, действие или предмет. Я читала перевод на английский и мне он показался каким-то куцым и немного примитивным. Уж не обезсудьте. Русский очень богатый язык. А как писал на нем Высоцкий, знают очень и очень многие в бывшем СССР.

You stopped the Video before it was still finished, because Diana tell's something important to the Intention why she learned and performed this song and her teachers told her not to learn and perform this Song written by Wladimir Vysotzky a poet which was very critical and the russian authorities where not lucky about him! He died very young in his mid fourtys!

Excellent translation captured the poetry of the song, but possibly interpreting it and pausing on your first view may have taken from the 'flow' Above all that the original singer and their tragic life hold extra meaning to many Russian fans. It is a highly dramatic song, nothing to laugh with. And this song is purely Russian, Slavic, not borrowed from the Mexicans.
