Her ability to write such a beautiful love story with such depth of character in Jamie and Claire is astounding .. and the actors certainly do them justice !

Did Diana say she was 71 years old!! She is so vibrant and beautiful, she doesn’t look like most 71 year olds I know.

Terrific interview. I thought Diana would be very different and yet here she is approachable, open and showing us how important it is to get it right. Lovely woman too.

It is remarkable that the series was able to find so many perfect choices for those many iconic characters. I will always love the books for their depth and variety. You have given your characters very definite character, right down to their marrow. While there are details beyond the scope of a normal human actor, even with the help of special effects and the application of prostheses or contacts. There are also limits to what an actor may be willing to sacrifice, an arm or finger for instance, for a single accurate portrayal. Acting life, after all is, one hopes, long and varied. I have finished reading the series, again, and waiting for 10. Though, being 80 years old, i am not particularly in a hurry to end anything, though endings in themselves are not frightening, coping with possible disability or over protective children can both be a trial. I will say i appreciate the stimulation of your many books, and the very real understanding that life for the older generation does not at all dispense with ambition, desire, passion or deep emotion when they have occupied our life, our hearts and minds from our youth. We are alive to life no less as we age, and perhaps even more so, as we see its potential ending. Thank you for the adventure, and for acknowledging that living and loving is a life long, should be a life long, adventure.

These are the best novels I have ever read. I was just completely gripped. You are a genius novelist.

I love that Diana gets the medical herb lore and the period practices of physicians correct, among the many other historical details, but all those details are in service to the story; she doesn't make the story about the history, or educating her readers, though you learn a lot by reading her books.

"They involve almost everything", which is how the author describes The Outlander series.

Holy crap. What is her secret? She looks my age! Im 45!

I do wish DG would not say 'Outlander' is even 'reasonably' historically accurate. At least in the Scottish part, it is very inaccurate. She did her 'research' a long time ago and, from her own list of books, seems to have read very little real Scottish history. Let people enjoy the books for the imaginative fantasies they are, but saying they are 'reasonably well founded in history' is laughable.

Sorry she is not writing love stories but lust stories.
