I was there for those 2 days and believe me when I say this lady has magic.... there was a fight and a stampede but she calmed everyone down and after that was nothing but unity, love and goosebumps ...best show ever
Love her! Love the way she sings this song! First time I heard it was the she sang it with Lionel Richie If I’m not mistaken he wrote this song! The two of them together singing this song is just beautiful! !
Diana Ross remain the only super star ever to give a free concert to the public of this magnitude. This historic concert held in New York central park in July of 1983 remain the gold standard for any world class songstress. She did this when she was at the apex of her illustrious and magnetic career. No modern female artiest come close to this remarkable lady.
I lost my Mother six months before this show and this performance always hits me. I always think of my Mom. This was such a powerhouse of a performance by Miss Ross. POWERFUL BABY. My Mother would have liked it.
Nobody but nobody could have ever sang this rendition with the vast array of emotions pathos and joy the way Ms Diana Ross did here on a hot and humid day of July 1983. Every time i watch this I'm move to tears, no one else have ever done it for me.
AND SHE WORKED DURING RACIST DEGRADATION FOR PENNIES! THE REAL MONEY DIDN'T COME UNTIL AFTER SHE LEFT THE SUPREMES. EVEN SO AFTER 60 YRS SHE ONLY HAS AS MUCH AS TAYLOR SWIFT IN TODAY'S MONEY.. THAT SHOWS THE BIG DIFFERENCE SINGERS OF TODAY GET PAID A MILLION PER ALBUM. BS🤬YES SHE EARNED EVERY PENNY INDEED! 😇
I was there...this is by far one of the BEST concerts ever...Miss Ross was singing her heart out; and whatever was going on in her life at the time...she sang it... I LOVE YOU TILL AND ALWAYS WILL MISS ROSS
I attended that concert. It rained and she continued to sing. We didn't leave, got rained on, it was the concert of a lifetime. WG&M days. Precious moments!! Thank you Diana R.🎉🎉
Diana Ross the woman, the life and the Legend. What a Powerhouse talent she is with a beautiful voice. She is the very definition of SUPERSTAR. Bravo, Bravo, Bravo.
Hello Deborah how are you doing today?I've always loved this woman....she got me thru some toughest times of my young love life...back in the seventies and early eighties. Love ya, Diana!
22 THUMBS DOWN?? REALLY?? She remains one of the greatest female singers of all time and this was an absolutely beautiful moment in history. A free concert in Central Park? Who would not have loved to have been there and she doesn't have to do anything for free. Beautiful rendition and heartfelt
Though I was not in that concert, I do feel the excitement and amazement that you felt on that day by watching her sing that song.. Diana Ross is indeed one of the best there is.😊😊😊
I will always love Diana Ross and I will always use Diana Ross where my inspiration for my own singing and her boys lift me up when I'm down and she is the ultimate performer actress and singer
I did not prove read my voice text but the word was supposed to be her voice so I'll repeat her voice will always lift me up when I'm down I've always played Diana Ross songs to feel better and to inspire me as a vocalist and I actually can sing a lot of her songs and a male version so again I will always love Diana Ross she is a part of my life and I've been to a few concerts and I was very impressed she will always be to me a superstar and one of the top performers singer and actresses of the world ♦️💎💎💙💙👍all in one 🌈🌈😇🙏😇
If you look closely she has little gold things by her eyes that make her look like she was crying but real tears started streaming down her face, too beautiful!
Hello Avelina how are you doing today? I totally agree with you ...Diana Ross is indeed a great mega super star...she is such a beautiful and amazing singer
Diana Ross was actually crying while performing and singing this song. What a beautiful Soul! I'm 70 and remember so many beautiful songs from the 60s ... beautiful performance wish I could have been there!❤ Brings many happy tears🌼🤍🔥💕😘💗
Watching this in 2022 and loving every second of it. I can only imagine the emotions of the people there… this has to be one of the best live concerts ever. Love from Tirana 🇦🇱
I'm sorry, but this lady's angelic voice pierces the depth of my soul in the most amazing way! Love you Miss. Ross! And thank you for being so classy and sassy with a heart of motherly love ❤️
I am French, one of my biggest regret: not to be a New Yorker, and to be present at 3 concerts in Central Park. Diana Ross, Elton John, and Simon & Garfunkel. I have since come to New York several times. I love this city.
Can y'all imagine being rained out the day before. And as a star, think will my fans return the next day? And they do, no matter what. That's love. No wonder, she's crying and blowing kisses and blessing them. That's a real entertainer and love for her fans.
Extravagant woman,♀️ my family were there, our toddler, my husband and I, enjoyed every moment even as it rained, our son was comfortably snug and suited in his plush stroller which had protective covering from possible rain we'd not expected, blanket, back up bottles and his mommy and daddy. Diana Ross Concert was phenomenal and amazing!!!!
This performance makes me think of all the gay men who were dying during this time in NYC and San Francisco. 😪 We all love Ms. Ross and she is 1 of our icons. This song makes me cry for my 2 favorite uncles who sadly didn't make it to the 90s. AIDS was decimating a whole generation at that very moment. My uncles mattered and so did every single person who lost their lives. We mustn't forget them! #WhatIsRemeberedLives! Thank you Ms. Ross for giving me and everyone there a precious moment.❤
Truly to date one of the most BEUTIFUl live performances ever. Diana felt the love from her fans. He emotions were genuine. That is why she performed in the pouring rain for them in central park. Lionel Richie had to be proud the way she belted out this beautiful song of his. Amazing After all these years it still brings a tear to my eyes every time i hear it.
I was there the 2nd day. I was 18 years old…. just graduated from High School… I don’t know how I stood up in that heat for that long a time. Couldn’t do it today!!! Maybe Diana gave me the energy… oh I was a teenager
It is truly sad to have a great love and not be able to love him as you would like, because the universe conspired in the opposite way, that is truly terrible, this song is without a doubt and will be one of my favorite songs because what one really feels when loves someone and defines it as his eternal great love. Diana feels this song on her skin and in her heart as those of us who have been lucky enough to hear the song and see Diana interpret it masterfully have felt, nobody like her
Hello Corey how are you doing today?Diana Ross is way too talented...I love Diana Ross, i can't hold my tears seeing her singing with tears in her eyes, she is a great great singer
I wonder who she was thinking of MJ or her dearest husband. He can't be both. Let's just say she had a full love life experience and she's a legend period. Very inspirational.
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in my life. I remember my mother has used this music in a theatrical spectacle of it. Unforgettable. This music of Diana and Lionel saw that she interprets deforms so intense, that I think you have total love for music and respect for the public. Diana is a goddess singing their hearts preformance boots. I was shivering from
Diana Ross, Why does it make me cry with the sweetness of your voice, and song? Each sung word reminds me of remarkable moments in my life. His emotion moves me and his affection for the fans is fantastic. You are and always will be an inexhaustible source of talent.
where were u back then?? this was sooooo huge she sang this an allll of NYC cried!!!! still gets me every time- i loooove her an looooooove this performance so much! never get ova it!
My mother used to tell me,as I was growing up,"anything that's free turns out even better than that of which you've paid for." I now understand that...
Como uma interpretação em um show realizado em 1983 ainda nos emociona em 2022.Lindo de mais...Só podia vim de Diana Ross...Uma das maiores cantoras de todos os tempos...Maravilhosa.
Diana Ross is great, but I am also super impressed by the other singer harmonizing with her. Pity you don't to get to see him in this clip, he does a great job.
I've always loved this woman....she got me thru some the of toughest times of my young love life...back in the seventies and early eighties. Love ya, Diana!
It was the shit, back in the day...I grew up in the 70's and 80's. It was a time when everybody liked the same songs on the radio. Kids never had to worry about school shootings, traffic was light- unless you were in the heart of downtown NY or LA. Gas was .60 cents a gallon. There were no TSA, Homeland security. American's felt safe and secure, no president Republican or Democrat was totally loved, but never hated. The country- looked to the future expecting good, not evil. Nobody had ever heard of PC. Whether you wanted to watch TV, go to movie., or radio..there was always something good on. I never heard of people dying of cancer. Housing was affordable almost everywhere but NY. That was back when you could walk home after dark, ride your bike home from a friends house and feel no threat. I'd give anything to live in that America today. We're basically a police state now. Very sad.
I was on my first ever foreign holiday this day. I was in Central Park for the first time ever, in America for the first time ever, the previous evening, 21 July 1983, with no idea that the gig was about to start, watching so many people pouring into the park in the humidity. Then the storm came and rained it off but the next day was glorious as you can see here. I wish we had seen this gig but I feel happy that I was there in NYC on these two great days when a huge community gathered for this wonderful concert. No politics, no grandstanding, just the music, the voice, the songs. As a Brit, I felt the awesomeness and excitement of America on that trip in 1983 and also the friendliness of their welcome. It was the treat of a lifetime.
I feel like if Diana Ross angelic voice was heard in front of a riot she could calm everyone down and stop any violence right away..so lovely and pure hearted woman💗
Diana remains my idol. It’s 2021 and I still cry when I see her crying while performing “Endless Love”. Kids take care of your mama she is so precious to us. America’s Diamond ♦️
