Diana Ross' is probably the most under appreciated female voice in popular music!

My all time favourite version of this wonderful song. Diana, when she decides to interpret a song, really seems to convey the meaning of the lyrics and conveys the emotional truth of what she is singing, without using it as an opportunity or excuse to dazzle everyone with the number of notes that she can fit into the smallest space, which ultimately means nothing with regards to the message of the song that she is singing, and therefore always manages to connect with her audience and listeners in a way that I have never seen another artist manage to do!! I have had the privilege and honour of seeing her perform many times all over the world, and been her guest backstage for a whole day, and she is absolutely the real deal, on and off the stage!! I got to spend quite a lot of time with her in the early 80’s and shared some incredible times with her that I cherish more than words can ever express. I love her so much, for so many different reasons. My girl...my beautiful Diana.... they sure don’t make them like this anymore that’s for sure!! 🥰🌟🧡

I heard this song this morning on my way to town, and unlike most songs, instead of wanting to sing along, I was listening to every word and reflecting on them. Some days we get so worried about our daily worries and we forget that "When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by If you smile"

I love her in "Mahogany" a movie rarely shown. My favorite real "STAR" ever still alive. She invited me to dance with her, cheek to cheek, for three minutes in front of 15.000 people in the Coliseum in Hong Kong for handing her a red Baccarat Rose. I smile just thinking back although sad that I don't have a picture of it. Only a girl friend living in OZ and the concert organizer Andrew Bull can testify to it. Sadly not like now those years public cameras were banned from concerts.

This is an extraordinary arrangement of one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Those descending chords have given me chills for forty years. Too bad a *real singer* isn't performing in front of it. That tinny, thin voice on top of that bold arrangement is a musical oxymoron.
