The One and Only ...Diana Ross Wow after all these years she still has it...i was like 5 years old listening to her albums on our old fashioned turntable. Art and Talent has no age indeed...❤
God Bless Mary Wilson, she was the Supreme Supreme and much love to Florence Ballard as she was the Original Supreme, and without either of these ladies, we would not have our Queen Supreme, Queen Empress of Motown Diana. None come above. Mary Wilson said frequently that Diana wanted it all: All the Lead Vocals, Barry Gordy, the Solo Career....add live longer and go further. Many people have said many things about Diana Ross, but I am here today to tell you true talent speaks for itself. Who you are shows up in your children and the way you live your life. And just from the outside looking, she has done alright. She is now 79 years old and can still sell out concerts and perform for 90 minutes straight (of just singing) and have the audience wanting more! There many who become noted and highly lauded, but few become Iconic, but Diana is!
Thank you for sharing this clip! I have been a fan for 5 decades and I'm looking forward to seeing my girl tonight! I hope she sings "I'm Still Waiting." One of my many favorite songs.
MISS ROSS, SOUNDS GREAT AS SHE DID BACK AT CEASARS 1979, LOVE YOU A ZILLION ICONS. NOTE TO THE ONE HIT PONEYS, LEARN FROM AN ICON / GODDESS; LONGEVITY !!!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Sound people - I'm putting ya'll on blast. Get it together. This is Diana Ross - this is not you little friends you doing favors for. Get it together. - And Yes, Diana was working that fan. She is such a drag queen. I love her.
It’s about nostalgia, the fun the connectivity with the audience and the appreciation for the times the music represents plus we still have her alive. But I hear ya I love those pristine vocals too
She's in her late 70's, I doubt that her fans care if she is enhancing her vocals a bit with prerecorded tracks. Also, no one expects for her to have the same energy she had while performing at that iconic Central Park Concert.
Damn now all we needed was Aja from Rapals Crack Race to do the lipsync and her moves and we got ourselves a show y’allz !!! No teepee no shady cameraman y’allz jejeje 🤪
I love Diana and spent a ton of money for a Radio City ticket, but she's pretty clearly relying on a backing vocal track and her background singers to do the heavy lifting here. She's singing along, but by no means giving a lead vocal performance. The overall sound is nice, but her voice is really buried. We know she can still sing, and it would be nice to hear her re-imagine the songs in arrangements she can handle with a lead vocal, and I understand her desire to get the sound as close to the original sound as possible, but it's more like karaoke than a Diana Ross performance.
I was there last night and of course backup singers are amping up their vocals at points where her range might not have remained as strong, but they do it all seamlessly and it works somehow, she sang Don’t Explain without backup and at 78 delivered, and the audience certainly responded with exuberance, caught up in the nostalgic moment, remembering a time and place in their lives with each song, forgiving her every off note for having this legend help them to relive their youth or some happy moment or inspire them that age is just a number. Smiles abounded!
Not true. And absolutely right, go listen to don’t explain. Nobody is there but her, and she sounds amazing. She sang along to a track here not bc she needed to, but bc it produced a fuller sound
@@gsolomonla Of course, the stroll down memory lane is going to be enjoyable, and I’m fine with the off notes. I am happy to hear her voice as it exists now. I’m don’t find a complete lip sync like Beautiful Love very compelling, but if people enjoy watching her lip sync that’s great for them.
Sighhhhh….when this women passes over and she will like all of us. The sadness and anger with will…OMFG god status …she screwed over so many bk women younger than her (Mills) being just one…the pain I feel looking at her FACE…understanding fulling how complicate she was…ALL FOR SELF!! No matter HOW she framed THOSE YEARS and continues too!! 😢😢😢😢
Yes I noticed this too, she should maybe practice with in ear monitors more, the device she keeps adjusting has two controls on it, one to change the volume of her in ear monitors for her vocals, the other is the volume of the music she hears in her ear monitors. Really these settings should be chosen before a concert begins and slight tweeking during the show if required however it appears she is often changing it during the concert and at times it seems distracting and unprofessional. Maybe go back to stage monitor speakers as she is accustomed to those and has used them up until 2020.
@@dddddadadad1796 we're not being paid 400,000 -600,000 to perform at a show, Diana is therefore it should be professional and well rehearsed. This isn't about the other person's comment which is absolutely a valid observation or anyone else doing better, its about Diana and how things don't seem very well presented.
@@AGNETHAFALTSK0G This was especially heartbreaking to see during her performance at the Queen's Jubilee concert a few months ago. She was fiddling with the buttons from the moment she walked on stage, and in front of a worldwide TV audience, embarrassing technical difficulties blemished her entire set. She's sabotaging herself !
@@STLmurphy20 absolutely, I really was shocked at how she was singing over a recorded vocal on all the songs at the Jubilee concert and when she began the chorus of Ain't no mountain high enough the pre-recorded vocal was completely different to what she sang, at the very end of that song she took the microphone right away from her mouth and the vocal continued with the words 'just call my name ' which she should have been either singing along over or maybe lip syncing to but it went quite badly wrong. Some concerts were excellent vocally- good breath control, natural vibrato and a younger tone, other concerts her voice was very raspy , off key and to be brutally honest not the Diana we know. This isn't about her being 78 and age being to blame it's about how well rehearsed she should have been on a number of levels. Many people have said give her a break she's almost 80 but at the end of the day using her age to justify these issues is not OK.
That is so terrible of the promotoers " this shouldn't be on here "you have mad a laughing stock "out of the biggest motown star ever 😱 everyone can see she's migming we can hear them telling her to turn her recever off 😫she is so much better than that " I've followed her since 1972 " worship the ground she walks on 🥰but that is apsultly wrong 😠
She looks great. Far better than the UK. I was genuinely concerned for her cognitive health, but she seems much better here. Her playing with her mic belt, her fan, her outfit….she’s doing that more & more & more & it’s meaningless & distracts from the performance. At this point in her career she should be doing an occasional performance here & there. She’s a legend and has nothing to prove. But nope, her ego won’t let her. In 5 yrs she’ll be on stage in a wheelchair. The woman is determined to die in concert, on stage.
Seriously?!! Same show, opening, set list and gowns from nearly 15 years ago?!! This looks worse than just laziness. It's like she's lost the desire to create something new and beautiful...then, whine that she's being forgotten...
I was there last night and guess what, same songs, same gowns, same opening and no one cared because the “packed to the rafters” crowd was thrilled from beginning to end, having a blast. What better song can she open with better than “I’m Coming out” or find off with “Ain’t no Mountain”, they just fit and belong like natural laws that can’t be changed. She was fabulous.
I just really wonder if you whining complaining a**holes realize that the venue books the act based on the show and setlist. They want DIANA ROSS… the one that sang I’m coming out at the beginning of her show. And this isn’t the same setlist actually bc she does several songs from Thank You included. And like Gsolomonla said. The audience there wasn’t complaining.
It was a foregone conclusion that you were going to hate it so why do you bother to post your displeasure over and over and over and over...into infinity?
