I remember well the first time I saw her in this in late 70's early 80's at NYCO. No one could have sang and acted any better! Soviero was a wonderfully gifted Artist who deserved far more fame and recognition than she received but her work was outstanding and she was one of NYCO's brilliant stars. The Met might have given her a bit more attention and gratitude than focusing on some rather past it European Diva's but her performances were thrilling and her voice first rate !
