I used to play 24 hole harmonica. Now I have started playing Hindi songs in 10 holes HA 20 diatonic harmonica. As you have mentioned, it requires a lot of practice to play hindi songs by bending the notes. I am trying to master it.

The thing is I LOVE BOTH... I am playing on a basic 24 holes chromatic harmonica at the moment. But gradually will promote myself to 12 holes chromatic... And then a good DIATONIC... THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO..!!!
Very interesting. One of the best comparisons. Some of other differences which you can cover in another episode (a) the chords that we can play on diatonic vs the chords we can play on chromatic - though both have limitations (b) challenges in octave playing on diatonic because of it's notes layout (c) one extra critical component to manage on chromatic harmonica in self maintenance /care - "VALVES"
Amazing explanation Brother. You are truly a genius. You have a deep knowledge of the scale, tones, octaves, bending etc. I also do play. I may not be as good as you. Arindam too good..have been playing harmonica all my life but never knew all this.. I wish u had played some bollywwod song on two of the harmonicas..would have allowed us to appreciate the difference even better

Arindam Sir, Even though i want to play Bollywood, will Diatonic enhance our quality? Secondly, considering learning curve, if i start with Chromatic, Would it be feasible to switch from chromatic to Diatonic later on?
WOW!! When I wanted to learn Chromatic someone advised me to throw away all my Diatonics. However, I wish all Bollywood songs could be played on a Diatonic as easily as in Chromatic.
@@asen80gmailcom I who have no idea of music notations and can churn out some tunes on a Diatonic Harp feel frustrated when I can't play all that are played on a Chromatic Harp.
We always need good harmonica coaches like you, Mr Arindam. Sadly, there are any number of self proclaimed 'masters' these days on RU-vid who, with their half baked knowledge of the subject of music, are actually misguiding the unsuspecting beginners and doing a massive disservice to them as well as the noble profession of teaching. I for one consider this to be an unpardonable act. Meanwhile I look forward to your next video upload🙂

@@asen80gmailcom thank you.. I checked there are two versions of folkmaster ..one is Maaron Suzuki folkmaster rate RS 876 on Flipkart .Another is docooler c folkmaster almost same price . another is Suzuki Maaron 1072 but the price on amazon is 3000 to 4000. Depending upon key.please suggest.

Thank you and please consider sharing the video. Also to your question, the technique should be no different than standard. However, Silver Star is not worth to learn on, probably. Airy and stiff to my opinion, makes bending harder. Haven't played Easy Rider though. So no specific comments.
Sir I am playing 24 X 2 holes harmonica without slider comfortably. I don't know the difference between 10 holes, 12 holes & 16 holes chromatic harmonica. I have to purchase chromatic harmonica which should I go for?
