its not hypocrisy.. its what parents do.. they put their son's/daughter's betterment before themselves.. so for them its ok if they neglect or dont burden their child with extra heavy dependencies.. bcs they are aware life is tough for their children so they try avoiding adding into the pressure

So in current time considering inflation will our parents be present for us to do a job again & pay for all expenses for a growing kid, giving home lones, & each day living a life with regret that we r not able to let our kids pursue his hobbies & pressing that kid to do only study so that 1 day like us he/she would get a decent job & that day we fulfill our hobbies which will be killed again with the same vicious cycle ? Most of the parents of a boy c them as their future investment, not their child. In the name of his future they hardly let them pursue their life. & Do U know where this fear comes from our parents? It's the fear of economic crises, financial instability that they faced in their whole life & transferring the same into their kids. I'm observing a family in my neighborhood. Both parents have a govt job. They have 2 male kids aged around 7 & 10. Both boys study in a convent school. There is a stark difference in how those kids r getting nurtured & how i grew up. They both get separate tutors. The elder kid is interested in sports so his parents engaged him in sports activities with local clubs according to his choices. He participates in most of the school sponsored sports events. He is good in his studies too & gets ample access to whichever study material he wants. In contrast to me I'm living my regrets bcz my parents couldn't afford nor support me & the reason was that only my father was an earning person. They followed those societal norms which never fitted according to their needs. So I'm asking could you fulfill my losses/ regrets that i have? U can't. All i have to go with is compromises for those regrets.

ok, just because you got bad parents, don't go starting around bad rumors like "that's how most indian parents are" His dad was not looking to start a fight, parents nag sometimes (and many times they are right) because that pressure make the son do effort which is only gonna benefit him in the long run, how is not better for Nikil. I get that he could have pursued it calmly but parents panic but they just want what is best for you, Nikhil didn't give a logical answer, he just diverted the argument into something else, he said "he'll do it" but there was no seriousness or accountability in his voice, that's why his dad was angry. You don't sound like a mature person

Sure. You jump to conclusions about my personal life with a comment on a video, but I am the immature person here. My that reasoning, you are the irrational parent expecting everyone else to "manage" and adjust to your emotions. Point was that despite Nikhil repeatedly saying this was not the time and place for this argument ( they were outdoors, his wife already fought with her mom which was totally inappropriate btw) and most importantly his mom saying let it go for now. Let's talk about it later. He wouldn't let it go. He kept pushing and pushing until Nikhil burst out that he has been hiding his ailment and then got mad that his son pointed it out.
