The actions must be done in order from left to right, starting from the gold mine. You shouldn't start by the Town Hall (best hand). That matters for the Saloon action, you can't steal the property cards from the current turn as they have not been won yet.
Murr is right: from rules PDF: "Important: For the first round, the Drugstore winner exceptionally make the action twice (draw, select a cerd, discard, and then draw again, selet a new card, and discard again)."
Also action order matters because there might be a new sheriff before deciding the tie breaker for hand town hall (best hand). This came into play when Lincoln took the bribe from Kevin around 29:30. Lizzie would have been sheriff if action order was from left to right.
Then they are THE BEST MISTAKES WE'VE EVER MADE! We've been playing this a long time and we must have been making that mistake the whole time. We'll definitely change it up the next time we play it. I want to get the Cowboys expansion and see how that changes things.
That rules explanation was a bit rough. Being told exceptions to rules (paying money to keep more or less dice) after the game has started and when a player is actively using the rule would be a bit annoying to say the least.
I wouldn't play real poker against Nikki. While I know she has fun at these games, she's always the person with the most calm and reserved face. Pretty sure she could take more than a few people to the cleaners in poker.
39:23 Should you have paid 1 dollar here to keep your two dies, instead of one dice in the end at your last roll? I am just trying to understand if it is okay to keep all your dies at the last roll for free?
It looks really easy to cheat in this game based on the die rolls.. i mean, who can stop you from altering die value under the cup when you have to secretly reveal them to others??
I like having new players, and she was awesome, but please don't bring him back. Usually I watch these all the way through but that guy just. kept. talking. I mean seriously, this isn't tabletop, there can be silence. So I made it 24 minutes and 17 seconds and I will never know who won. Shame, the lady in black was quite fetching and they all had great synergy.
Funny, I just checked where my breaking point was, 25:10, a made it a minute longer than you. Guy is playing it up way too thick, nonstop sounds, jokes, references, just too much.
I'm not sure what it is, but I kind of feel like I know why for a weird reason. His rules explanation was a bit shaky, the order of teaching was off, and he forgot a thing or two. I consider myself a good teacher, but I've been in that situation a time or two, and it creates a weird vibe like he had. You feel like you might have flubbed it, or maybe not. So you start playing around. Keep it light so that nobody takes it too serious when your bad explanation bites them in the ass. And trying to feel out if they understood the game well enough to also joke, or if they were so confused they're too busy figuring the game out to joke. It's weird, but I've definitely had that exact thing happen when I taught a game not so well.
