For anybody that doesn't know, nobody went after his kids, and they didn't talk about him because they were mad he was on Stern. They talked about him because he trashed them on Stern after he acted like a friend and tearfully thanked Opie for helping him sell tickets to his second madison square garden show. He was all happy and tearful that his sons could "see their father at madison square garden". What they said was that Dice's kids must be "real proud" that their father was now backstabbing his "friend" for just a tiny bit more publicity. They were right on the money. Dice is a little girl, and was never funny anyway.
Dice was broke and desperate during this 2005-2006 period. Not saying that excuses his behavior, but the divorce-and-Eleanor mess, the VH1 reality show wreck, the push-to-partially-sell-Madison-Sq-Garden while being mocked, and the September fight with Artie ("how long should I wait for the five grand"), four months after this appearance -- guy couldn't pay his mortgage or opening acts during some of this period. He was in a frantic spiral, even if there's some radio schtick layered atop it. Gradually recovered, but it wasn't a good look.
howard keeps saying they're doing his act. WHAT ACT? they talk on he radio and curse. WOW. he didn't say it here but on part 1. just saying, what specifically is he talking about? they're edgy in completely different ways
That'll be a great show. I saw some show he did on HBO, and he was brutal to the audience, which was hilarious. His boys opened for him, and they were really good musicians.
I'm actually seeing Dice at Governors next month (NY comedy club) If he starts ranking on me, maybe I'll use it on him. With respect to the author, of course..
I was wondering if people would get that or not. Well, I'm giving that poem up to the masses. If you ever feel the need to use it anywhere (I don't know why you would), it's all yours. Maybe I should steal Dice's act and go on the road!
I saw that. That was his comeback show "indestructible". His boys are musicians and one of them is starting stand up. His ex wife also opens up for him. I'm well informed about sitting in the front and the risk that is at a Dice show. At a comedy club you can sit wherever there's an open seat. Needless to say, I might be sitting somewhere in the middle - blending in.

They (O&A) were hard-pushing Dice's 2000s tour, culminating in Madison Sq Garden return -- because of his financial desperation -- got so frequent + schlocky that, after plug #2 or #3, they were making fun of him as much as they were promoting him (and arguably "making fun of him" was still sorta promoting him). I think some of this is put-on radio schtick -- just like the CNN "I heard you ran a gym" fiasco during this same timeframe -- but the root issue was that Dice was broke + frantic, and O&A (sort of) helped him, till they got exasperated and frustrated, and started bashing him via side comments, like they do with their second-stringer guests. Then he exploded.
All of these shows have humor value. You have to be a crazy fanboy not to allow yourself to see that or laugh. But the O&A fans are right. He turned on them. And I'm not sure they really went after his kids. They did mention them, to his credit, but I wouldn't say they went after them.
