savitarsavior Flashfan Xd he means well, I think he’s a good brother at heart. My brother always goes for my weak points when we fight (my art) he doesn’t really mean it and I know that. Also this was at a time when men were put under a lot of pressure to be the man of the house and be in charge.
Emily gave up her love basically so Austin could be happy. And he says “you couldn’t just let me be happy.” She gave up what truly meant to her for nothing. Second season Austin and Sue better divorce. And why couldn’t he see in a different scene that sue was happy that she got the dress dirty and was crying tears of joy when she was reading Emily’s poem. You could honestly see how Emily’s heart was crushed.
They dont she has three children it's a doomed relationship her and Emily it's the 19th century unless your Anne Lister who had money to cover up her marriage to a woman. Their relationship will never develop to what it is now. Incredibly sad but incredibly realistic and is what makes Emily Dickinson's poetry so incredibly amazing because she wrote from sadness like most of the mist incredible writers and poems of history and our modern era
@@clarapilier exactlyyy !! and Emily and Sue did continue to have a relationship (people would still deny it, but who tf cares. facts are facts) Austin's and Sue's marriage sucked anywhich ways. Emisue were infact, Endgame ! :) Also, Mable edited (heavily) some of Emily's poems which largely mentioned Sue after they were found by Lavinia. :/. Austin was clearly a jealous little s**t
Hello Singular Steinfeld, I think Austin knew deep down that Emily & Sue were meant for each-other & that Sue would never love him the way she loved his sister. But, as you can see here he didn't care. Austin was determined to have a Trophy Wife to impress Daddy & Sue just happened to be there & they were good friends. Unfortunately, it was a no-win situation for Sue because the reasons she married Austin were merely for financial stability because she he had no choice in the matter, on account, of her whole family being dead. Also, I noticed here how Austin is jealous & possessive. He has this wild look in his eyes.. Like his father, Austin has a Jeckle & Hyde personality. Sweet one minute, a monster the next. The real tragedy here is that Sue, Austin, & Emily are all victims of a society that wants to pigeon hole them in specific roles. Sue is supposed to be the dutiful housewife but only because she has no choice in the matter, Austin will follow in Daddy's footsteps & stay right where he is despite his desire to get out of Amhurst simply because his parents demand that he follow tradition. Emily is expected to find a good man & get married. The only one of the trio that doesn't bow to these social constraints is Emily. And as a result, we got some of the best poetry ever written by a human being. Sue & Emily are soul mates. Whenever Emily & Sue were alone together, they could be their true selves. They were openly happy together. You could see this happiness in Sue especially. But when she is with Austin Sue is clearly miserable, but must play the part of a dutiful fiance/Bride Perhaps one of the reasons why Austin found comfort in the arms of another woman is he knew that Sue would never love him the way she loved Emily. I also think Austin may have had a hand in getting his mistress to edit out all mentions of Sue in his sister's letters & poems. Thankfully these attempts to erase Sue & Emily's relationship proved to be futile in the end As you can clearly see here, it drove him crazy to know that Sue was in love with not only someone else, but that that "someone else" was his sister. My ideal way to end the series would be to have Emily & Sue reunited in the Afterlife where they can finally have the romantic relationship they were always meant to have, but were denied to have in life & they can finally be together forever. They could even get married in Heaven with Emily wearing a suit & maybe the top-hat. Sue wears the Bridal gown that she wore when she married Austin, only this time, she's marrying the true love of her life. What do you think?
I hated this scene, it had a similar vibe as the one her father slaps her. It hurt me how he wanted to make Emily feel so bad about herself and her dream to be a poet.
Sue never really love Austin tbh, even Sue itself never said so, I can't feel their chemistry at all... just hope they'll give us Emily and Sue for the next season, they're the purest couple for me 💃💞
Sakura Fruit if she had done that she would’ve been put in an asylum because that’s what the 19th century was like. Anyone (mostly women) acting “out of character”, control or showing those type of emotions, would just be put away. But yeah lol I wish she did slap him in this scene
I sincerely see room for character development in him like when he assured sue that he wanted to marry her despite her not wanting to have kids I really hope he pulls a Draco malfoy or Jaime Lannister and redeem himself
@@naomiwright5598 He was taught wrong by Lucius, after the war when he grew up out of the shadow of his parents, he married a Muggle right activist, he was civil to the golden trio, he even refused to recognise Harry when he was dragged in the malfoy manor
@@ginnyweasley5812 Sure, I guess I just wouldn't use Draco as the best example of a character arc, especially if you just look at the books and not all the stuff that was added to the books after they were published. I've always loved the example of Zuko's change of heart, it was actually something that was put in the series and not added later, it was well written, and it just made more sense. But I guess you're right, Draco did change.
Reminds me of the Brontë sisters' brother Branwell in the biopic To Walk Invisible and also my mother's eldest brother. There are Men just like that in every family I suppose.
@@jacquetmorgane8520 for example im a women who doesn’t like men but im going to marry one just because of how people are very judgmental not because I love him

@@arabellaaguilar9846 The good things of old time are people tend not to be rude and they would avoid confrontation. If anyone read Jane Austin, they would know it. The cut scene is childish and ill writing regardless of time and cultures.
