While Adidas has been making some really solid "speed" boots as of late, I think it's tough to argue that Nike hasn't dominated the space with the incredibly popular Mercurial series. In 2024 however, Adidas is looking to change that, with so many people excited to see the return of the F50 series! Everyone seems to love the look, and there's no doubt the boots are great, but are better than what Nike has been up to? Is Adidas actually winning, or are we just being blinded by hype?
We compare the new Adidas F50 Elite to it's main competitor in the Nike Zoom Mercurial Vapor 15 Elite. What are the main differences, how are they similar and of course, which one is better? What do you think?

I got my Vapor 15 elite today, the green CR7 ones, and I can only get the right one on my foot, the left is just too narrow.. am going to have to send the back and try the phantoms.. I just had to return a pair of tiempo 10 and they were the same size but seem perfect

Back then, the Adidas Predator was $160 - $170 and I thought it was expensive already. But now majority of the boots are in the range north of $200. Geezus.

Nike and Adidas have changed way too much over the last decade Both in boot shape and raw materials. Superfly 4 were leagues ahead of the superfly 9, with the exception of durability. Years of R&D just to consistently release an inferior product. Same goes for adidas, Adizero f50 (leather toe box) was the prime era, everything else in the last 10 years has been a downgrade imo.

Used them about twice a week for 6 months before I think the zoom unit was done, I play at about 190-210. Do with that info as you wish.

I'm sure you've been asked this before Josh but what boot size do you wear? I ended up getting the F50s in US10 which feels amazing (I normally wear a 10.5) but you as well know, not every shoe wears the same for different brands and models of the boot.

Seems strange to me people are unwilling to shit on the F50. They are quite ugly (personal opinion). But the lockdown is lacking. The sole plate is boring and not that responsive. The internal cage system is lacking. The upper is "nice" and they are light weight. So if you want a speed boot...get the Mercs. If you want a speed boot with a softer upper...go New Balance...or Mizuno...or Asics...or past season Crazyfasts....but ya know. The F50 is back!!! Reading between the lines....seems like this is a miss for adidas

Adidas just need to bring back the adizero 5 ..version 5 had great traction,lockdown,comfort,lightweight,durable..even the upper was great!

Just purchased Some Superfly 9’s in the same size as what I’ve been wearing in adidas, and I find them to be way too tight being so narrow but also find they run a tad shorter length wise. Anyone else have same experience?

That colourway for the mercs look dreadful. Also the fit in the vapors is the main factor. For anyone with even slightly wide feet, they are extremely painful.

Hi Josh, can I receive some advice on what speed boots to buy? I have a superfly 9 and I want to purchase a new pair of speed boots, should I wait for the new mercs or buy the f50s? BTW I really liked the superfly 9s. Also, will it be worth it to by vapor 16s?

Like I said in the video, if you really like the fit and feel of the Mercs, nothing else feels quite like that. As for buying now or waiting, how soon do you need them?
