Did Au help solve America's Biggest Treasure Hunt?!! "The Thrill of the Chase"

Guys we did get an answer from Forrest Fenn through a blog. Unfortunately this is not the location of the treasure. He indirectly mentions Au by saying he compliments the other film makers. Which we thought was really great! That is a first with him telling that it is not at a specific location. As we said in the video we had a great time searching for what we believed to be the location of the treasure. We thoroughly experienced "The Thrill of the Chase" Thanks for everyone that showed interest and the good news out of this is the "Thrill of the Chase" is still on! On to the next Adventure!!!
Here is Mr. Fenn's recent (July 10, 2017) response to Mr. Stone's video, which was posted on Dal Neitzel's blog:
"I enjoyed Mr. Stone’s well-presented video. He is a far thinker and has a knack for analyzing. There are half a dozen other videos that were made similarly (Adventures United). The treasure remains where I hid it about 7 years ago. It is interesting that the film makers are so positive while leading their viewers to where the treasure chest never was. I compliment all of them (Adventures United) and am reminded that it’s all about the thrill of the chase. f"
Special Thanks to my friend Perry Stone who invited me on this Expedition

Every video ive watched on this has a reaccuring theme of not finding gold but being blown away at the surroundings and the adventure, reconnecting with nature is the treasure, imo......hundreds have already found it 🗻

I don't believe f built this poem so the treasure could be easily found. Over the course of fifteen years he toiled with this poem. To put a line in it such as " Put in below the home of Brown " & it to literally mean below a person's home is a far reach to reality. I think it's just all way deeper than that.

Very clever name that your initials are for gold on the periodic table, bravo, and also on a fenntastic video. I thought for sure all your clues were spot on and matched with where I would be looking as well, hell your video was even good enough to get a nod from the master. WOW! I will be re-evaluating my solve now, you probably saved me a lot of time and money. Thank you and best of luck in your quest.

If this has nothing to deal with Native American treasures, than this spot is wrong. Fenn was an avid collector of antiques, usually Apache relics. Why on earth would he hide his treasure anywhere other than a place that has a huge value to him? This doesn't look like a sentimental place at all, whatsoever.

You know someone apparently did buried something there though and it's interesting that it was in a location so similar to Mr. Fenn's poem clues :3 Make me wonder what happened to the tree and what was actually buried there then? I mean that's got to be an interesting story too I think.

The poem IS a set of directions, in Stanza 2. If you do not follow those directions, you will not find the solution. For those who must have the answer, here is the one-picture solution: www.dropbox.com/s/u6pbe4edgs96g4j/Using%20the%20Poem%20as%20Map.jpg?dl=0 First you had to find the "right" triangle, similar to the one shown on the front cover of Too far to Walk. Draw lines on Google Maps ("end drawing nigh" means make a drawing to find the end) between the points listed in the poem (Waters Canyon, CO, the vanishing point; Casa Marron, NM, the home of Brown; Angel Fire, NM, the first blaze; and Marvel, CO, starry cant with marvel, gaze). Marvel is not needed but falls on the same triangle hypotenuse line as Waters Canyon and Angel Fire, and is a confirmation that you found the right way to solve the poem using a right triangle. Second, cut out a copy of the poem and place it on the triangle as directed in Stanza 2 of the poem. Blaze #3 is a large painted "nn" on top of a large flat boulder at GPS coordinates 36.6355, -107.2105 Blaze#3 did not become visible until Google increased the resolution in 2016 so now you can still see it with your own eyes by zooming in on Google Maps! - - - -

We don't believe it was buried either friend we think it was put down in the ground 5inches and the top covered with Poplar Bark is our theory From the book "Why don't you lift the Jar lid". Thanks Mrsvegasandrews1 we had fun making it! We have had several people suggest that, and that is very possible. We really wish we could have had that third day to double check. If you decide to go look for it, and find it in the canyon send us a gold nugget if your feeling generous haha :) If I went back I would double check between the Brown House and the Iron Cemetery down the road by the creek. That was the one place we didn't get to check thoroughly. Still waiting to hear back from Forrest. He responded to one email last year but has not responded to the email about our find yet. I guess time will tell.

Thanks Desertphile we heard that also. It made us feel good that he liked the video. I have been a photographer for over 10 years and just this past year decided to get into video work for fun. We are planning a trip to go back out in August to search at a few different spots. We think it might have to do with the Lake County War, and the Meeker Massacre that led to the Ute Indians being removed from Colorado 1880. Kind of like the trail of tears with the Cherokee. I don't mind throwing that out there just because 1. I could be wrong haha and 2 This will probably be the last "Expedition" to look for it as we are going to be focused on working with the travel channel soon. What key words was not circled friend?

+Journeyman Yes we are sure that he has a lot of emails and that is probably the main reason he has not gotten back to us friend.:) We know also about the giving away of money to Charity but still wonder if either it has been found and he is protecting the person that has found it, or if he plans on just letting it roll to keep selling the books for charity/getting families off the couch to explore. Either way though we had a great time on the trip we felt like all the clues lined up and we found what we found. I guess only time will tell... Mr. Forrest Fenn was a genius and will be a legend for ages to come for this hunt. On to the next adventure!

I agree there are far too many points of correspondence with the Chalk Creek site to dismiss it as anything other than the most likely location. We may never know if the box was found or if Fenn decided he wanted to keep it. Or it may still be there. The hole Perry Stone found may have in fact been a decoy to convince others the chest was found. Still, people want to keep dreaming and doing the Lost Dutchman thing and never give up hope that the north side of Denali or a secret chamber under Taos or whatever is the real location. I think the simple answer in this case is the best one---Fenn chose a relatively non-remote spot that he was familiar with in a national forest area in a state directly north of his home state and gave enough clues that it wasn't really that hard to find.
@sambutera7624
@sambutera7624 7 лет назад
It's seems to me the only two clues the video addresses are HoB and the blaze. What about No place for the meek?, paddle up shit creek?, heavy loads, water high etc... ? I would expect the finder of the treasure spot to show a linear progression of convincing solves for each of the nine clues. A near by lake and some boulders is not a convincing solve.

Being from Colorado I found this video quite awesome. I've been paranormal investigating here in Colorado for 17 years and St Elmo is on my list of places to visit. I never heard of the treasure or poem before otherwise I would of gone looking years ago. :( But now I'm curious to find out if there are any other hidden treasures with clues in this state.
@AdventuresUnited
@AdventuresUnited 7 лет назад
Thank you we had fun making the video. If your into Paranormal investigating and your ever in Tennessee I am friends with the owners of two of the most Haunted places in the state. (Old South Pittsburgh Hospital and Hales Bar Dam. Both places we have had crazy experiences) For some reason the owners like me, THEY REALLY LIKE ME! haha They told our team anytime we wanted to come we could come for free. (Usually Charge) We just went diving under the dam the other day and got our picture with a ghost heat signature Jim. Really cool experience! As far as other treasures in Colorado the General Store owner at St. Elmo told us there are quite a few in that Canyon. One story goes that Indians threw a donkey off the side of a mountain with bags of silver on it. A few people have died looking for that one. He named off a few more treasures too. There are some still out there it's just researching them.
@Just_Jim602

Adventures United Thanks so much for the invite to those places! I'm planning on making a trip across country in the next couple years or so and visit some places. I've investigated a bunch of places in Estes Park and several well known mansions in Denver and a few other places across the state and all the historic places here in Loveland where I'm from. I'm busy lining places up this summer again. If you want to chat more you can always hit me up on Facebook. Just look me up Jim Beard. I'd be glad to keep in touch. I'm definitely gonna have to go to St Elmo and talk to the General Store.

Great video! I think you are close as well, I’ve always thought it was in this area. To me... ‘water high’ means there is going to be a waterfall. Browns Creek Waterfall Trail ends at that fall. You won’t need a ‘paddle up your creek’. You might get a little wet, it’ll be ‘worth the cold’. He clearly wants you to hike in the warm months so ‘cold’ I’m thinking might mean water. Anyway, good luck and hope you find it.

Most have centered on Montana, Colorado, and New Mexico. If you take the words that stand out most (to me anyway), I came up with Old Brown Creek. As with most, I believe you are overthinking this. Here is one possible scenario as well and simple. There is a trail in the redwoods of California with the name Brown. A creek of "warm" water "ending" at the trails "beginning" with either the red needles on the ground, the red bark on some trees, or the red rhodedendrons possibly being the "blaze" people speak of? The trail is circular and the "entrance" is the "end" as well. The trees are old and the creek is not deep enough for a boat to paddle. The creek is in a ravine or small "canyon" as well. Obviously they are the "woods" and it is not far from parking to the loop but walking the loop is too far to walk to find it. Anyone in California able to look at the entrance and see the chest? Let me know and your welcome!.

+ScottySquatch That's possible too. If that really was the spot. Which we think it was. I get that man travel gets expensive fast. That's why we made it kind of a one shot deal for this expedition to go look for it. I've got to were I set a budget for different projects and ideas for travel to help keep this going. It's a hard balance though between running a business and doing this project. I just think of it like working out. Push hard for a season to see results later on.

Here is what Forrest said... Question Hi, Did the same 9 clues exist when you were a kid and to your estimation will they still exist in 100 years and 1000 years? Thanks ~Ron "Thanks Ron, thoughtful questions The clues did not exist when I was a kid but most of the places the clues refer to did. I think they might still exist in 100 years but the geography probably will change before we reach the next millennia. The Rocky mountains are still moving and associated physical changes will surely have an impact. If you are in the year 3,009 it will be more difficult for you to find the treasure. f" Can you quote me what your referring to Ken?
@Scott.Farkus
@Scott.Farkus 7 лет назад
I haven't saved transcripts like you have; however, I did hear Forrest say "the blaze is something that will still be there in 500, perhaps even 1000 years". He wants the hunt to go on for that long, so people will remember him for that long, yet he wanted to insure that it can still be found in a thousand years by following the clues; how would that be possible if one of the most important clues was something as short lived as a Birch. A healthy Birch won't last 100 years, let alone a Birch that has been severely wounded. I've lost count of how many people have said that they figured out where the treasure is hidden, but someone else beat them to it. Thing is, they all think it was in different places. They can't all be right, but they can all be wrong.

+Byron Bailey Thanks Byron we had a blast making the video. I know we had a buyer ready if we had found it. Treasure hunters have connections and always work in secret/Black Market, but yeah a lot of bozos cough I mean people would probably take it to Pawn Stars and try to sell it haha joking

+Adventures United As far as if he had any ties there. Personally we believe he does, but we do believe as we said in the voice over. He never mentions the actual location in the book. We find it VERY interesting that he never talks about Colorado in the book. All of the locations in the book point to a place that only he knows about. "A special place to him" It was originally called Forest city. It has the perfect fly fishing spot at chalk creek. Mary Murphy Mine remember Mary M in the book. John Brown "Home of Brown" was the head of that Mine. Etc...

I have only been on the chase for 2 days but obsessed and came across this video while investigating. The trail to this CO canyon is one I followed as top approach. Largely because “home of Brown” seemed like the only possible linchpin amongst such ambiguity and the hot springs connection etc. I almost wish he didn’t capitalize the surname though if this is the correct answer. Easier to say after the fact though. Kudos because unless this is all just step #1 of a basic riddle wrapped in a larger enigma, then I imagine it is all over (or soon to be over) unless you just missed the blaze by x# of feet. The timing of this is peculiar though with the recent death of a seeker and FF deciding what to do about the hunt in general. Perhaps the plot really does start to thicken...whispers...

Ryan thanks for the comment. It became an obsession for me and my friend too haha Yes what made us think this is THE "Home of Brown" was the Mary M headstone in the book. Mary Murphy was a huge silver mine in the Canyon and Mr. Brown was very wealthy and the Superintendent of the Mary Murphy mine (His brother fell 75ft to his death in there). We have been wondering if that was a decoy hole and maybe it could be somewhere in between the home of brown and the cemetery down the wagon road. If you go look and find it send us a link to your video and a gold nugget if your feeling generous. Preferably the one that's the size of a fist hahaha Also yes we have gotten a lot of traffic lately do the unfortunate death of the man looking for the treasure. This has become an interesting subject across America and maybe answers will start to come to the surface

An go down 300 ft and pick up a bicycle. I'm gonna also start exploring some lakes around and see what I can find underwater. I thought about this lost treasure if anyone has ever looked under that lake for it?? If you're ever back here in Co hit me up and I'd be glad to go exploring through the woods with you guys.

Honking... Thinking... same thing haha Believe me when I say I understand autocorrect issues. haha Woah that would be great! I need to look into one of those underwater rovs for exploring. I've never thought of using one of those before. As far as people looking in lakes for the treasure not that I know of, but there is a lake called Alpine lake that Chalk Creek runs into just down the the Canyon. That might be worth looking into. If not for the treasure but for historical artifacts seeing the significance of that Canyon. Yeah I will definitely holler at you if we are out that way again. Our team is always up for meeting/exploring with other like minded Explorers.

Adventures United who knows, theres many places that has shown to match a lot of what he wrote. there is a lot of coincidences if not the place though. perhaps without proof of chest his lips will not say. but the blaze did look man made. ive selected dozens of spots and my son just turned 10, so was planning on seeing a few spots in the spring. more curious now to solving his riddle, no need to say if you dont think appropriate, yet wont know unless asked, but what led your team there besides a striaght road as it would seem he would have come to other towns than that.

Adventures United right on, my wife and I are coming to CO in the fall for a wedding and we love adventure... so we planned a trip based around this, however, if there is no "this" then it'd be nice to search for something else to do! btw, where you were is almost exactly where we figured out from the poem, geological maps and computer from our home in Texas😂😂😂😂... it really wasnt to hard to figure out it was in that area... there is a private airport there and we wanted to throw his bones on top of the chest. but the hole beside the 🌲 with a blazing is SUPER convincing that someone found it, it's a shame they haven't called in and told... not that they have to really tell their name, but if they would send him back that barclet, then he'd know it was found... instead of letting ppl die or waste more ppl time
@AdventuresUnited
@AdventuresUnited 7 лет назад
Cool well good luck to you Chad. Yes the hole was convincing to us otherwise I would not have shared the video. I knew if there would be backlash with a statement this big. I agree that the person should send in the bracelet if it has been found. We had planned on looking somewhere in between the home of brown and the cemetery down the wagon road on the third day just to be sure, but had a snow storm change our plans. If you guys do go looking in that area and happen to run it send us a link to your video and a gold nugget if your feeling generous. Preferably the one that's the size of a fist hahaha jk 23850 Co Rd 292 Nathrop, CO 8123638.708309, -106.337709 Try these coordinates. These should take you right to the Home of Brown If your standing at the Home of Brown Porch we went down the road to the right across the bridge and to the left into the area of Aspen trees. You will see the tree with the Blaze cut into it walking around in there for a little bit. Its more down by the creek though don't go uphill

If you are in the year 3,009 it will be more difficult for you to find the treasure. f" Can you quote me what your referring to Ryan?

@AdventuresUnited
@AdventuresUnited 7 лет назад
+pk sagara No PK Sagara the cemetery was on the way out. The road through the canyon does a loop. The poem lines up with the road exactly. Warm waters halt Mt. Princeton Hot Springs take the canyon down not far but too far to walk (drive) riches new (his treasure) and old (st Elmo mining exchange) put in below the home of Brown. Remember Mary M headstone in the book? She was the owner of the Mary Murphy mine in St Elmo. Guess who was the head of that mine. John Brown.... the Home of Brown has a big marker in front of it that says "Home of Brown" no place for the meek refers to the wagon gypsy chapter of the book. Where Forrest was shy to dance with them. The road in front of Brown Home was an old wagon road. Heavy loads water high follow the road down to the creek... etc... then lead up to spot where we found the 10x10x5 hole in the ground. Then you go out past the cemetery to leave the canyon. Take the chest and go in peace R.I.P. I hope that helps answer your question

Ever considered someone else has worked it out (roughly) the same as you did, didn't find it, and that this was done to deter people from continuing the search, leaving the area free for the hoaxer to continue at their leisure? I'd look again, but I'm several thousand miles away...
@AdventuresUnited
@AdventuresUnited 7 лет назад
+scoobynut That very well could be the case friend. We had talked about that on the trip back. We were hoping to search for the third day to double check and make sure but had a snow storm mess up our plans for that. I would be down there again too but am back in Tennessee now. I think IF it is still in that canyon it would be somewhere in between the Home of Brown and the Old Cemetary by the creek. That was the one spot we wanted to double check but didn't get to. I'm almost 90% sure that someone found it where we came up on that hole in the ground with poplar bark (not indigenous to that area) but I have been wrong more times than I have been right in my life haha if I was still going to search for it that's where I would look. +LIFEvsTRAVEL Thanks LifevsTravel I didn't know that he said that about the pine nuts, but I do remember telling the guys I was with that it smelled good in the canyon like pine trees. The crazy thing is that area where we found the hole with poplar bark beside it there were pine tree forests that surrounded that small area of Aspen trees. It was a unique spot for sure. Again though we are not saying this is for sure the spot but this is where we felt the clues lead us and that hole convinced our team that someone got it. I am waiting to hear back from Forrest still for a definite answer. He wrote me one email last year. I asked him is it near a hot spring where warm waters halt. He said, "Can't answer that Nathan" F hahaha I felt like the scene from dumb and dumber - Big gulps huh well see ya later haha but the second email he hasn't responded to about what we have found.
