I never really considered that he still had feelings for catalina. It makes me like claude more as a character too if he's motivated by love rather than revenge. Great video as always, your channel is crazy underrated!
Tbh at the final mission he did want revenge, he knew finally realized that he can’t get back with Catalina, he knew that he will again have fellings of love to her even from what she has done. He decided to kill her imo because if he does so there is no way for her to screw him over.
I like your theory, but I don’t think it wasn’t Claude’s goal from the beginning. When Claude saw Catalina with Curly Bob and Miguel, he was asked to find information on a potential rat in the Leone family, so killing Catalina and Miguel could’ve made the situation worse and got Claude killed by the Leones as well. No such problems were present during his task to retrieve the package for Donald, but he couldn’t kill her because, in my opinion anyway, at the moment of truth he realised that he still loved her. It should also be noted that it is unknown if Grand Theft Aero takes place after Kingdom Comes and I don’t think she knew Claude was still alive by the point Salvatore betrayed him. It was just a coincidence that both organisations wanted him dead and just so it happened, his ex-girlfriend was the leader. I don’t think he wanted to get back together with her in the end - the money was a small price to pay to kill a person who he had loved who used him and almost got him killed. Claude knew how obsessed Catalina became with his death.
Claudius has no feelings. He can't love. Maria said the Leones now known as the Pavanos offered Claudius up to the Colombian cartels to make a deal because Maria lied to Sal about Claudius and Maria. Claudius didn't kill Miguel and Cruz because Miguel was compliant. Claudius tried to kill Catalina when she shot Miguel in the back and made a break for it. Grand Theft Aero lead up to Kingdom Comes. The ability to do Kingdom Comes before Grand Theft Aero is a glitch. If Claudius didn't kill Catalina, CJ would've gladly.
Yeah, you're right that killin Catalina and Miguel in the Cuttin the Grass mission could end up badly for Claude. But Catalina had to know that Claude was alive. He was on the news, plus the Cartel cut a deal with the mafia to give Claude up and Catalina seems to be a highly-ranked member in the Cartel so she had to know about Claude bein alive. Kingdom Come mission is possible to complete before Grand Theft Aero, I think canonically we should assume that the missions for King Courtney are completed as soon as they're unlocked so Catalina simply knew all along. At the end, actually it's hard to believe that Claude came there to kill Catalina cuh he literally went in there without no weapons and just handed her the money. if he wanted to cap her, he would just conduct an assault on the mansion init
@@SebaInit I think she thought he was dead because she said “I left you pouring your heart out into the gutter”, as if she thought she killed Claude. If the Colombian Cartel knew Claude was in that convoy and didn’t kill him, I think it was a bad move, but this is why I think they didn’t. She may have been busy to see him on the news too, and she also had to lay low on account of the robbery. As for the ending I think he just wanted her dead at any price and didn’t care anymore so he walked straight into the lions’ den.
@@justsomeguy747 yeah, that line youve given does indicate that, for a lot of time I actually thought the same but I think that by the time of the Last Requests mission she had to already know that he is alive. You still don't convince with the last mission but in this case both of our opinions could be valid so I cant really say that yours is illogical, especially considerin how mysterious Claude's psychology is
My take is he wasn't just going to kill her, he was going to make her suffer and Maria was why he lost Salvatore's trust. The guy is paranoid and was the reason his family were constantly on eggshells. If Maria hadn't had Asuka as a friend it's likely he would have killed her for the liability she is there and then. When someone shoots you and leaves a bitter feeling killing them is too easy. Suffering is the preferred option and he was doing that by taking down her slice of the empire.
Ooooh, so you sayin that he tried to ruin the cartel to make her life difficult to make her suffer instead of just killin her? Hmm, well that actually makes sense since Claude was workin most of the time against the Cartel durin the game, altho we also have the missions for the Jamaicans, who as Claude knew from Kenji missions, were in league with the Cartel, so that would be the only thing that would kind of put this theory into doubt for me. And actually the last mission as well cos I dont know how goin to Catalina's mansion with no weapons and payin her half a mil was meant to get him any closer to either killin her or ruinin her life. So yeah, a very creative and interestin theory, altho there are a few flaws to it imo.
Make Maria suffer because she was abused by her old tyrant husband and she wants to leave him and be free? What’s wrong with you? She did nothing wrong. She never hurt anyone.
You mean the one with Niko and Darko? If so, yes, those are similar cases and Niko shows here that Claude didn't really want to hunt down Catalina, which is what the game suggests ;d
