The sad part is that it isn't just Tapper or CNN. George Stephanopolous is considered a non-partisan observer in the establishment world. After a hundred years of intermarrying and interbreeding, the constitutionally protected press is no longer acting as a check on government. It has become it's propaganda arm, working out the give-and-take on various issues among themselves before the establishment press sells it to the public. That includes the best way to destroy any outsiders like Trump who threaten their insider game. The public is catching on as the deep state goes to dangerous extremes at this point. Maybe we should look at the efforts by the establishment to arrest political opponents, including a past duly elected American president for the first time in American history, as a trap that Trump is setting up. Nobody can deny that all of the efforts to play dirty to take out Trump has exposed them in ways we never thought possible in America.

The problem with interviewing MAGA is that they have the same lies, the same Trump approved talking points and no matter what you ask them they will take it as an opportunity to spin the same propaganda. You can try to keep them on track and try to discuss the topic at hand but they will deviate from the topic to push their agenda. Deny, Derail, Deflect. Use circular logic and completely ignore the question or topic to use the time to regurgitate the same old BS that we've all heard a billion times. By not cutting them off it's just giving them a free platform to make a mockery of the interview. A debate requires actually staying on topic

Dan covers the good and bad from both sides. There is a lot of talk about this interview and people debating if CNN did the right thing or not and if they can be fair. Dan just said what he thought about the situation then had on a guest who disagreed. Very fair reporting!

In olden days journalists were encouraged to be neutral, to report the facts. Those days are gone, alas. But, I miss them. And now, I'm not sure there's a way out of the mess we're in unless we encourage neutral journalism and centrist candidates. So, I guess I'm saying I don't share your desire for him to pick a side. Honestly curious: why should he (a journalist) pick a side?
