The largest veterinary clinic in my area is filled with true animal lovers, but they still push Hills really hard, because the clinic is owned by a parent company. I always explain that we feed our pets a raw diet, and they look dismayed. The thing is…that Hills has already had to admit to pet deaths, as a result of poor formulations, just like other kibble producers. Now that meat is becoming a scarce commodity…watch Hills start pushing a “healthy”, or “balanced” filler, Vegan line for financial reasons. Just a prediction, but I don’t think the sudden proliferation of Vegan pet foods, in the wider world view… is coincidence.

Hi what kind of food products for dogs would you recommend if any that are safe and not like Hills. I believe my dog, who died because of the vet. when I brought her in for a UTI, and whatever medicine he gave her made it worse and ripped her intestine and was internally bleeding had to rush her to an emergency where she died a week later. The vet. recommended Hills and it was only by prescription.

Compassion humans with a true love of animals and not motivated by 🤑! In the U.K. in 2020 a company called VetsNow took over all the OOH’s emergency veterinary services- yes many practices got very nice pay outs but if you don’t have the money right there and then , they won’t treat your pet or offer the next money making option of putting them to sleep! All the charities I paid into all my life like @rspca, @bluecross, @catprotectionleauge no longer provide free clinics! The saddest thing I ever seen what an elderly man , with his equally elderly pet hanging with her head dropping down and blood dripping on the floor, in tears as the vet insisted that his @petplan dog insurance didn’t cover tooth extractions and he would have to pay £490:00 that day! His embarrassment and distress was horrible! They take the money off you for putting your dying cat to sleep but in my experience they had to do one more test on her - kidneys it was so evident she was dying adding another £180:00 to the £240 fee to put her to sleep! Greed Greed Greed ! That elderly little dog I’m sure didn’t need every tooth in his head extracted, nor did my cat need testing on her kidneys an hour before she died. As humans we need to understand that are pets won’t live as long as us , so give them their best life and if it feels wrong say it , find another vet !

I have been a nurse for over 30 yrs and also have seen a huge shift in the human health care. I have seen conscientious doctors railroaded out of their practice due to this very subject.

I find that with human doctors, they are not interested in treating the problem just masking the symptoms. I realize doctors/nurses can only try and diagnose the problem based on the information the patient is giving them, but sometimes a test will be necessary to see what they cannot. Then that is where insurance comes into play. And that my friend, is a rant for another time.

Exactly! Doctors are very quick to give you a prescription to get you out of their office and make you feel as if they solved your problem. I know so many people who see their PCP for a regular viral cold and are prescribed antibiotics. One reason why we have bacteria that are resistant to abx. Or patients who are prescribed one medication and then other medications are added over the years to treat the side effects caused by the initial medication. I refuse to subject myself to this madness. Why would I do it to my pets?

Yes that is true. I stopped going to take my dogs to the veterinarian a long time ago. Too expensive insurance. Didn't even minus the cost. Only few dollars. All those daily check up they're not even needed. You can just check up your dog yourself. We only went a couple of times to just get all their dog shots before we stop going. We're not going to the vet anymore. I think we can do doggy check up at home by yourself with knowledge and the right equipment. Do you agree with me?

I'd had a holistic vet until I moved to a very rural town, where there were no holistic vets within 100 miles. But I did manage to get my allopathic vet to agree to titer test my dog before vaccinating. And guess what? She hasn't had to have any boosters in the past 2 years since we moved, and I don't anticipate any in the near future! I don't know if this veterinary practice routinely vaccinates annually as most do, because I didn't give them the chance, but I'm hoping that I've influenced them to titer test all their patients from now on!! And I appreciate Dr Jones even more now that I no longer have a holistic vet! We pet parents need vets like Dr Jones, who not only has the knowledge and experience in holistic pet care, but also has the moral character and conviction to stand up to Big Pharma and their tyrannical practices!! Thanks to the good doctor for standing on his convictions. We are in an era in which the medical community has, in general, opted to sell us down the river for the sake of $$$. Whether bacterial or caused by an overgrowth of yeast, he gives great advice for this and everything else for that matter. The thing that helps yeast infections in ears, which my dog has problems with because he has long floppy ears that trap a lot of moisture, is monastat cream used for human yeast infections. You can find it at any store for a few bucks. The 2% medicated version is what I used, about a pea size amount twice a day (morning and night), but you gotta make sure you massage the base of the ear to work it down deep into the ear canal. I do that for about 7 days and it works everytime. Hope that helps!

The vet I worked for had a client spend her rent money on a sick animal that had zero chance of living. Yes, the rabbit died even after spending the money for treatment. It should have been a euth. I’ve got no degree, but could tell the animal wouldn’t be long in the world.

This happens in the medical profession, too. This happens in Academia, even at the most rigorous and "esteemed" (gag) schools. You *must* conform or be cast out, and don't you DARE have the audacity to question those who are highly regarded in their field because that can *really* be the kiss of death unless you have glaringly obvious proof that their research methodology was flawed. It is just INSANE to me that the narcissists in academia and research are so thin-skinned that they can't engage in mutually respectful discourse. They demand you silence yourself...and your conscience and moral compass...and conform. If not, they cast you out unceremoniously, or try to make an example of you.

Is absolutely disgusting how the so-called license boards treat not only veterinarians but doctors and nurses alike and if they step out of place or they say something they're not supposed to or they publish something that should be hush hush and sacred how they turn the wheel on them to make them look guilty and irresponsible and it is absolutely disgusting to me. I think there's way too much red tape and way too much politics so to speak when it comes to both the medicine of veterinarian and the medicine of human where a doctor or a dentist or a veterinarian gets slapped with fines that are absolutely ridiculous and made to look like they're incompetent or guilty of something God forbid worth of the electric chair! my son experienced being told his dog had heartworms, he was living close enough to a city to have taken up with the wrong vet. An estimate of $1200 for treatment and told the dog might die. He took his dog back up here 70 miles away, where his old vet tested her and guess what... NO HEARTWORMS. The dog lived happily for another 8 years... and died basically from old age. SCAMMERS... the 'dr' would have 'treated' the animal with something who knows what, and in the end killed it just for fun. WHO KNOWS WHAT KIND OF SELF-RIGHTEOUS CRETIN YOU MAY BE DEALING WITH NOW?

I had a vet try and tell me my cat had a heart murmur after charging me $500 for her to get spayed. They did bloodwork that they had already done that I told them not to redo too. They wanted me to do an ekg on her. They tried to make me feel bad and after I said No they said it could be because she’s scared. 😑 I was like obviously that’s what’s wrong she’s the most scaredy cat I have ever had. Eight years later the cat is still fine and has never had an issue…. I’ll never go to that vet again.
