I am so grateful for your channel and these video series, specifically. I grew up as a Christian in a Christian household, however I became more agnostic as life went on. These interpretations of the Bible have drawn me back, and given me a better understanding. For that I thank you. I’m 22 years old with a lot of life yet to live, and I’m glad I’ve found the path again.

I truly believe that when Esau forgave his brother and offered him a place to stay. I think we can see now who was the one truly blessed at the end. Esau was in a better spot and still humble enough to forgive the brother that did him wrong.

Just a gentle reminder that the maidservants Bilhah, who was in the service of Rachel, was also given to Jacob as a wife, though of lesser stature by convention, because Rachel had not been able to conceive herself. But as the Proxy wife, it was Rachel who named the son born from this union, Dan, which means “Judge”, because she felt that God had Judged in her favor, since up to that point, only Leah had born children to Jacob. Bilhah also gave birth to Naphtali, to represent her “Wrestling” with Leah. When Leah saw she had stopped being able to conceive-presumably due to her seniority, she gave her servant, Zilpah, to Jacob , also as a “wife”, and she bore Gad (Fortune), and Asher (Happy). So a full 1/3 of Jacob’s sons were born from the Birth War between Rachel and Leah. It’s kinda sad, but what was at stake from the Female perspective was more than the right to crow about one’s offspring, when we read in Leviticus chapter 22 (if memory serves), that “a woman is saved through childbearing.” I’ve seen folks discussing the negativity of the attitudes of Rachel towards Leah and Jacob, given that she had the heart of her husband all along, but when we look at the apparent Fact that the eternal future of a woman was tied in to her Procreation capacity and completion it brings a lot more to the table for discussion. But I think it’s important to recognize that the maidservants were also technically wives, and all those sons belonged to Jacob, just in the order of legal and legitimate standards, not a lack of convention or discourteously in any way. So while they were placed ahead of Leah and Rachel, they were legitimate heirs under the Common Law of the times, and Joseph was the only son of Rachel at the time, and the youngest of the Tribe as well. It’s quite appropriate from that perspective, imho. Great video! Many thanks 🙏 Blessings!

@@brokenmess9921 Thanks 🙏 it’s important to recognize that the Common Law of the Old Testament is quite different before the Exodus, because folks tend to throw rocks at the patriarchs and matriarchs using a standard that only truly evolved later on.. and rarely applied.. or applies even today, to the nobility. It’s held up as a Double Standard in order to castigate people that no one really knows, imho.. as a means of self justification through a side door by way of a “disrespect” towards them in order to justify their own personal perspectives on someone else or their God. Poor business that. It’s best to give grace to those upon whom heaven has shown mercy, for surely we all require Mercy in our own lives.

Jacob had a lot of shallowness about him. He only loved Racheal most because of looks. It said he enjoyed what she looked like. Sexual pleasure .. when she died he was bitter and refused to sleep with Leah again. I feel terrible how Leah must hve felt not to mention those poor maid servants that were treated as property and sex slaves. To make them bear a child so the other women can name and steal them. I don’t understand the people from back then no compassion or love

According to Scripture, it would seem that Esau did forgive Jacob… He may not have forgotten, but I believe that he did… We have to understand that back then, everyone knew God and of His Law… Whether or not they obeyed is a different story, but they all knew that forgiveness is a big deal with God… In (Genesis 33) Esau ran in and kissed Jacob, and didn’t hurt or kill him… I believe it’s in the Book of Jasher that it’s expressed that God appeared to Esau on this account of Jacob and warned him not to harm Jacob… Regardless, Esau didn’t harm Jacob so we can speculate the reason until Christ comes… Amen…

I like your words of choosing. "He may not have forgotten" is also reflected in the Book of Jasher as Esau's children constantly remained him until Esau's anger couldn't be contained.

@@7katona7 Right… All we can do is speculate on the answer to this question, because Scripture isn’t exactly clear on it… But, many people tend to over look the Book of Jasher, regardless that’s it’s directly referenced as least twice from my own memory, (Joshua 10 [and I believe] 1 Samuel 15); and quoted several times… And it does make this subject a bit clearer of their relationship, but not this particular question… Did Esau forgive Jacob…? I believe that he did, emphasis on “I BELIEVE”, are we sure he did…? No… But, one thing I’m certain of, is he didn’t forget… What I’m also certain of is this, in both the Books of Jasher and the Holy Scriptures, they read that Esau saddled up with 400 men, MEN, not women and children and a celebratory parade to roll out the “welcome wagon” for the arrival of Jacob… I believe he was originally still salty about how things went down way back when, and just as it says in Jasher, God appeared and spoke to Esau in a dream and warned him not to touch Jacob… As I’m sure anyone will attest to, if a similitude of God shows up in dream of an awakened state and tells you, no, warns you to NOT do something, yeah, they’re not doing it… After which, I could see Esau them forgiving, but most likely NEVER forgotten…

Matthew 20:26 It shall not be this way among you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, Jacob at this point has improved well above already in spiritual maturity to know the spiritual standards not to say he didn't love his brother, except that his love and value for the gift of the birthright was greater in the restoration of creation in the new heavens and new for believers that are saved would know how this status in the heavenly realm is much more greater and everlasting than any status you could attain on earth since he attained the birth right by trickery, this appears to me that by his remorseful actions to his brother and and as said by the Messiah it is more blessed to give than to receive, by gifting his brother with natural riches becomes an exchange for spiritual riches and doing so out of love that should further validate and complete his rite of passage to the birthright is how i see and understand by the basis of scripture the same applies to us even though by the sacrifice of the Messiah has gifted us an open door of opportunity provided the conditions are met to reject the things of the world to put to death the deeds of the flesh to likewise be subservient towards each other and confessing the Most High has indeed sent his beloved Son into the world for the salvation all that obey and believe worthy is the Lamb and the one seated on the throne Revelation5:13 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 2 Esdras 2: 31 -100 ''''''''''''''''''' ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I doubt it took the family arrangement for them to realize Jacob favored Rachel. Jacob made it abundantly clear that he was in love with and favored Rachel. Lea would have to be content with this as it was her father's doing that she became a wife to Jacob. He worked for their father for 7 years in hopes of marrying Rachael in the deal, only to be given Lea because their father promised him the hand of his daughter but never specifically said he'd give Rachel and wanted Lea, his elder daughter, to marry first as it was her right ad found it unsightly to marry his younger daughter before his elder. Jacob would not give up on Rachel and worked for another 7 years in order to finally have her. He did not even accept Lea willingly. In place of Rachel, they had sent Lea to wed Jacob and kept her face hidden from him, tricking him into marrying and bedding Lea whom he thought was Rachel. He did not realize it was Lea until the morning, which by then it was too late for him to reject Lea as he had already claimed her innocence. Though he WAS tricked, he was punished for the favoritism as Lea was still a good and honorable wife and shouldn't have been treated this way, so as divine punishment, Lea gave Jacob 10 sons where Rachel was punished to be childless for years until finally having Joseph and Benjamin towards the later years of Jacob when they were basically elderly.

He knows your troubles, he hears you! He is for you, on your side, always! It may feel silent at times, but he’s holding you close! May the Lord return soon! We are drawing closer. He is coming! Believe and trust in the Lord, you will be saved. Period. May the Lord bless you all! Hang in there family. Stay strong. It is not easy following the Lord. We are scoffed at. We give up our earthly dreams, our fleshly desires. What the enemy offers is short lived, but heaven is forever! Life may seem or be unfair, but God is with you! Always remember that. Things may get better or worse for you, but a kingdom awaits you! Finish the race! Repent daily and carry your cross. This world is fading fast. Your troubles are temporary! hey friend! i’ve been reading your comments and threads from different videos on youtube and man. i don’t know why but i have this inherent feeling that everything you say just feels like it makes sense. i don’t think you’re crazy or a druggy, hell i’m a stoner and i’ve done acid a couple times and i feel more grounded in reality than ever in my happy life. i’ve only lived almost 24 years (i really don’t even know the depth of what im talking about) and i’ve thought about the possibility that life itself is incomprehensible and that the truth is beyond the interpretations of human created religions. i’ve always seen religion as a human concept that does it’s best to explain everything we cannot comprehend, mixed with a little bit of human ego and skepticism to push virtues and rules to live by (i.e. religious rules/text written in different forms like the Torah and the Bible) it all basically wants us to be a good human being. to love, sympathize, care, remember, manifest, and enjoy. to me, cuz i’m such a small factor in this universe, those are the main virtues to live by, that’s my soul i guess. those “beings” or “being” or “entity” that you witnessed, funny enough reminded me a lot of star trek next gen. how a super advanced technology can look like magic and immediately be perceived as godly and divine. silly analogy but like if we showed a ferrari to a caveman. they might think that ferrari is god 😂 you know what i mean lol and i bet you know how it feels like to be that caveman. though you seem so collected and grounded while describing your experience that it truly fascinates me. i totally believe that there is life much more advanced than us in this vast universe. how could there not be? the place is so big! and humans for some reason just have this capability of being able to perceive reality and acknowledge it and be aware of it! unlike any other life form on earth, humans are the only one’s with “gods”, every other vertebrate/invertebrate on this planet is incapable of communicating that awareness, for some reason, we are special. and it makes me happy to say that hahaha. we can think about our place in this universe. we can interpret and perceive life and understand, i feel like humans are literally perfectly made to ascend at some point in some way. maybe in the future, where we’ll have the tech to “ascend”. or maybe that “ascension” is death, which in astral and existential terms or whatever, we know so little of. i’m probably just word vomiting. i’ve just felt this natural skepticism in me about everything i’ve said and reading your words gave me comfort to finally talk to someone about it. you gave me another amazing perspective at what really may be the truth, or “a” truth. i just wanted to say what i’ve been feeling and believing. thank you for sharing that enlightening and thought provoking personal information. hope life has been good my friend! 🙏🏼

@@samualstanley8671 i find it daunting that you refer to them as our creators. i’m still very skeptical about everything that i’ve recently learned, i try to be as subjective and neutral to the fact as possible. like for example, i remember reading something in those comment threads about “them” having the ability to “read” our thoughts. i personally think that may be a little bit of a stretch. i’ve always felt that human consciousness is the closest thing to 100% privacy. your mind is where you truly can be yourself. are “they” that advanced that they have the tech to somehow read our minds? is human consciousness observable by a higher being using technology not available to us? if so, what could it look like, and if it’s observable, is it physical? are we like a hive mind suppressed by existential “alien” investigation? even i sound a little crazy but i feel like they’re very valid questions in terms of what we are seriously talking about! at this point, in an infinite universe, it certainly feels plausible for that to be a tangible thing, but in my head, my core reasoning states that it’s unfathomable. i would love to keep coming back to this conversation and speaking to you about the things you know. my skepticism about it doesn’t matter, what’s real or not doesn’t really worry me, it only fascinates me. and i just want expand my perspective on life

Thanks for the video. Esau did not mention the name of God in that whole meeting. It is important for that time to mention God because God is the only authority to make a reconcile and prove of forgiveness. Jacob's carefulness is right, and as New Testament explained, Esau is the man God hate (Bible rarely mentions God hate someone). Esau inherited everything God bless to Abraham and Isaac, but this meeting shows he did not want to recognize God. As for all the details of greetings and embracing, ancient culture can do all the gestures needed but turn the table at the next moment. When Esau did not mention a word of God, he did not give any guarantee to his brother. We should appreciate Jacob's wisdom, or else the history of the whole world could be quite different.

When we look at the total story - then this is the wrong question. It was always Jacob who was holding a crutch and carried this forward through history. Jacob was escaping his true punishment or judgement which he never received. The real question is why is deceit blessed by God? This is the most important question other then this is God’s will. Why do we accept this a the true intention of God? We can draw a line to modern day Gaza. Escaping real accountability and being cruel, unforgiving is paying out in the end - we just bless it with the mantle of god’s intentions.

@@natem1982 To add: I have a bias towards Yishmael, but comparatively: Yishmael refuses to help Esau in overtaking Jacob. Yishmael himself, a scapegoat, reconciled. With Yishmael a covenant was made, despite the circumstances. God would have given Esau his own right, but Esau never turned around. God said he hated Esau. Esau had not done any wrong yet for God to hate home except for one reason: Wanting to kill the brother that God gave the divine birthright to. That is akin to Satan's "I will". The determination for revenge despite the futility. God can't work with that. It's reprobate. Jacob was a terrible person, who deceived his elderly father, who got tricked into marrying 2 women, cheated his father in law, cheated his brother, then tried to bribe his brother not to kill him, all while insulting his brother by referring to himself as his brother's servant after stealing his brother's blessing...making him head of the family. @natem1982 2 года назад
While it may have a lot of insight to certain biblical locations like Sodom and their practices, what happened to lots wife and daughter is a tad bit skewed. Just like the Abraham story is quite relevant but skewed, just like how the bible refers to having sent angels to persuade (intimidate) Esau, and how God stands with Jacob, he will build a mighty nation from Jacob and shall call him Israel. That's when he went on to have 12 sons, the same 12 tribes of Israel. Dan, Judah, Benjamin, etcetera. The problem with the book of jashar is while it uses biblical notation to tell a deeper narrative of biblical stories, it never actually accredits or relates the bible in any way, or any of the old scriptures. This was the biggest telltale sign of it's non canonical general author establishment. Alongside it being less than a thousand years old ofcourse. Atleast in the book of Enoch is correlates with biblical narrative without being considered cannon for political reasons and dogmatic reasons that make no sense other than to discredit the supernatural existence of the genesis account.

Lmao Does anyone else see how pointless it was for Jacob putting the people in his company in any formation at all? We are talking about a handful of people, that's it. These few people are all still in the same general area so what if they were standing single file more or less. His brother had a small army with him. If his brother was going to do anything like kill them that little formation wouldn't have done anything. I'm sure all that did was cause strife and conflict between his company afterwards. I guess what I'm saying is that Jacob was a pleb.
