It's so infuriating how both Fast Forward and Back to the Sewers, were screwed over before they got really good, cause both seasons, had some really hype ideas, Tri-Shredder, Shredder War, and they weren't able to implement either of those ideas! What killed the 2003 TMNT was ultimately, studio meddling, studio indecisiveness, studio fear of commitment!
yeah like for Fast Forward, Stockman and Bishop had just been redeemed and we never got to see any more of them :( Dark turtles arc had waaay more to go :( The list goes on!!!
I watched this season a while back expecting something truly awful based on all the opinions I've heard from die-hard turtles fans saying this was where the series 'jumped the shark' or whatever, but instead I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was a pretty okay season if you didn't judge it on what came before and after. Unfortunately it's REALLY hard to do that in this case. I wouldn't really come back to it, but I don't think it's bad. I also had no idea this show was going to have a second season. Definitely explains how a lot of stuff was never followed up on properly.
As flawed as fast forward is. This was the series that introduced me into teenage mutant ninja turtles. And for that I will always be thankful. Also that theme song is my guilty pleasure.
One thing I wish we got from the dark turtles is that they become good after they do and our turtles go back to they're time, the Dark Turtles become the Turtle to protect Cody and the future, I think that would be nice to see.
also leo and ralph pounding early shredder was so satisfying, heck only leo would be enough and that's what you call progression, not "oh no he used to be better and still should be cause he is a main character".
I wish there was more content of the Dark Turtles because the way it ended it was inclined for them to get better and your idea of them taking over watching over Cody is great.
13:14 It was confusing as HELL. At, best it felt like this was another "Insane in the Membrane" case, a episode that was skipped. It was shocking to learn that they skipped a entire season.
Of all the seasons of TMNT 03, this is the one that I've actually seen in full the most since my local library has the complete season on DVD. And I gotta say, I actually really like it. I like the idea of the turtles and Splinter traveling a hundred years into the future and hanging with one of April and Caseys descendants.
I was trying to remember why I remembered so little about this season, and then I realized this was pretty much the point where I'd fallen off of watching the show. I vaguely remember catching a few episodes here and there but didn't really follow it closely
I feel very much the same way as you. I can't really pinpoint what it was exactly, but I remember not being too interested in Fast Forward, therefore barely watching any of it as a result
I watched fast forward but it definitely felt like a downgrade. The animation was chunky at times and it felt like the writers were trying to de-age the plot for younger viewers.
Lot of people say this was where they started regularly watching TMNT. I can see why, considering the landscape of cartoons around this time. 4Kids basically had control of 2 channels on Saturday Mornings. 4KidsTV and KidsWB/CW4Kids/A bunch of other names. Most of TMNT aired around the time Pokemon & Yu-Gi-Oh were airing. Plus other shows, Mega Man NT Warrior, The Batman, Xiaolin Showdown, Jackie Chan Adventures, I could go on. Not saying the lineup was better than the 4KidsTV one, just that this clearly had their target demographic split, not even mentioning Disney's Saturday lineup further spliting things. But in 2006, a lot of KidsWB shows ended. People were looking for action and that's where TMNT came in.
TMNT S6 (Fast Forward) was always an oddity to me cause there’s a lot about it I still really like but there’s just as much that even now feels largely disjointed with how many plot threads are just dropped or left unresolved
yes but am I the only one there thought was fu..t they take home and cody just have too beat all the villains self but his alive in the end so he didn’t die to all the 10+ villains xD
@@chrixtianmorales2645 well kind of going off the whole thing of Fast Forward S2 getting cancelled I think we just have to naturally assume that all the other villains have been incarcerated/defeated off-screen
@@DarkKnightofAnime yeah guess your right but I remember as a kid I always just thought rip Cody. Because the turtles are gone splinter is gone and stealing and Cody is just all alone in the future and as a kid I never liked the virus villain and I wished they had take the dark turtles with them back because I really liked them as a kid and now think it’s was the best villains in fast forward
Regarding the piece of Leo's shell, real turtles can heal injuries to their shells so it probably just healed naturally. I doubt that's the production reason but it works as an in-universe explanation.
I wouldn't say that this killed off TMNT 2003,it just jump into another reality unexpectedly fast and got stranger in the process but there's alot of great things in Fast Forward that I personally love, can't say the same with Back to the Sewers,on the bright side it isn't as bad as the Turtles Babysitting their Past Selves creating more Paradox that the Time Travel Story in Sonic 06 makes alot of sense.
I liked parts of Fast Forward. The future setting, Bishop and Stockman, the Dark Turtles. But I agree it did go on for way too long and the Dunn part of the story didn't get any resolution which made it pointless. Not my favourite but not the worst. Good video. Really enjoyed your discussions about the 2003 seasons.
A cliché i don't like in some media and manga is when sometimes when the main character(s) would travel to the future and it would be an apocalypse, the reason I hate this is because it makes it feel like everything that the main characters did meant nothing which is why I liked fast forward.
@@skibot9974 Yeah, I think it ruins the whole idea that even the main characters are not the absolute center of the universe were everything hinges on them just existing. That's kinda why I like stories were if a character is whisked away from their own time into the future only to learn that their absence while certainly tragic for their loved ones was on a whole NOT that impactful to other plotlines. Like sure maybe them being there would've made things easier for other characters in accomplishing their own goals or less costly to them but not impossible without them. Like imagine if an adventurer was transported to the far future at a moment where he and his friends and allies were battling a ferocious monster that threatened a kingdom or whatever only to later find his old companions in the future setting, all alive, all doing relatively well if a bit scared both physically and mentally, sure them being gone was rough for almost everyone but that didn't stop them from trying to go on with their lives, atleast eventually after grieving.
Dude these vids about the 03 turtles getting their late but well deserved props were literally the high notes of my 2021 November and December. I loved these vids because I always felt like not enough people understood how awesome this show was and how people did not take it seriously just because it was a "Saturday Morning Cartoon"
lol nice thanks for the retrospective on this season that I briefly knew about... lol didn't knew they still kept up with the baxter running joke... now the next season back to the sewers is something I had no idea they still kept going on....so thats pretty much a whole new territory looking into this.

I actually really liked Fast Forward. Maybe that was because as a kid I was so obsessed with TMNT that I salivated over anything with them in it, but even as an adult, I enjoy this season when I revisit it. I think it's pretty creative, and I like how a lot of the future setting they created is directly related to the turtles' actions and adventures from the original five seasons. I think the main reason it gets so much flack is because of the legacy left behind by the previous seasons and its failure to meet the same standards. No, it's not as good quality wise as the first five, but I still think it's a perfectly serviceable and fun ride.
I've been looking forward to this. I started and finished this video series in about a day, last week. If you consider Season 5 to be the main ending, and "Fast Forward" to be a spin-off, it's not so bad. Then someone snorted a line, and made "Back to Sewers", and it was over. I'm rewatching the whole show now...
At least Cody was helpful and useful right from the get-go. He has a character outside of the turtles. And he doesn’t have an obsession over his cool new friends.
I never did dislike this show, even after all the craziness and some of the dark tones from the previous seasons it was a nice change of pace to see in this one. It really kept me in tune the characters and the story itself, also i don't know about you but i kinda like the theme song of the show. Also all the characters you have mentioned you forgot about Starlee who i honestly thought was meant to be a love interested for Cody.
Leos shell also bugged me too, but then I read that turtle shells do heal completely, so it just tells us that some time has passed between the seasons
I've seen an interesting theory that Leo and Shredder's fight in "Timing is Everything" could have been the catalyst for Shredder greatly upping his game following that encounter. It's something to think about anyway. I agree with your assessment that Fast Forward wasn't what brought about the demise of TMNT 2003 but rather it was a symptom of it. Season 3 got dark and season 4 was even darker. Beyond diminishing returns on 4KidsTV, the series was also buried on Cartoon Network where it was once proudly aired in the afternoons on the Miguzi block next to Teen Titans, Code LYOKO and Totally Spies but after about a year it was quietly moved to early morning and 2:30pm time slots before getting pulled all together. They really should have tried it on the Saturday night Toonami block near Justice League Unlimited but for whatever reason they never did. That frustrates me to this day. Another great video. I look forward to your discussions on Back to the Sewers and Turtles Forever.
Like two minutes before you mentioned Leo's shell I started to think, "Wait, Leo's shell isn't broken anymore." It woulda been neat if it had been broken at first but they fixed it later in episode 1 or in episode 2, put in futurebabble about being able to regrow, graft, and repair the shell damage. Boom, done, Leo is whole again and no longer permanently scarred. Could have been a good character development moment with the right setup. Maybe later in the series have one of the turtles get seriously injured and Bishop comes in, saves them, and clones and grafts a new limb for them. Like have Raph lose an entire arm because he's being boneheaded Raph, and then Bishop saves him and replaces his arm with a completely new and perfectly cloned arm. Problem with that is it might have been too dark for the season given the tone they were trying to portray.
The one moment that remained with me years after watching this show is the moment where after the mutant Leo betrays the Turtles, Raph says "You can't change a scorpions nature." Leo responds "Raph, did I ever tell you I hate that story?" That's a pretty profound lesson for a show primarily aimed at kids!
I honestly think that Fast Forward is better than the Lost Season. (can't even hold a candle to the first 4 season but I like it better than that one).
i really couldn’t adjust to the new bright, colourful art style of fast forward, everything was much more simpler in terms of shapes and proportions, like it only takes 5 lines to draw the turtle’s heads and i really missed the detailed aesthetics of the first 5 seasons. thankfully the distinct voices of the turtles kinda eased me into it but it still kinda detracted from my whole enjoyment of the show. it’s like how ben 10 classic looked amazing but then fans couldn’t adjust to the colourful redesign of omniverse
Part of the reason Omniverse's art style was so polarizing was because it was too drastic a shift from the art style of the original series and Alien Force/Ultimate Alien (which had an art style that was much closer to the original series). Plus, some of the redesigns were just plain ugly (Kevin and Big Chill being the best examples of bad Omniverse redesigns).
I think here in Europe this season actually came after season 5, which aired right after season 4, no problems whatsoever. At least in my country it was like that. So the Ninja Tribunal thing made perfect sense to me when it aired.
Me and my younger brother had the whole season on dvd when we were younger, and we watched it a lot. So I have a lot of nostalgia for the show, and I don’t think it’s anywhere near as bad as people think.
I wouldn't say that Fast Forward killed the TMNT 03 series, but it being very different from the previous seasons and changing the character designs probably didn't help. Personally I thought FW was an ok season for what it was. It's something I'll occasionally go back to.
I remember thinking how ugly the turtles looked in those suits… then it’s lines like this (20:24) that save the day hehe. Some of the humour in the show really never fail to make me laugh (especially that one episode in the earlier seasons where a foot ninja shoots an arrow with a letter at Leo and he proceeds to call it airmail). In regards to the ninja tribunal references, I just took it in stride and assumed that I missed that episode or forgot about it. Some time later I binged the whole series on RU-vid when procrastinating on my O levels and went “ah, so that’s it”. I honestly liked how Fast Forward kept things fresh with a new premise and new weapons. Although the fights were lacklustre, I really liked the character design and improved weapons for how sleek they looked (except for repairing Leo’s shell. Which felt like it captured Fast Forward in a nutshell - they wanted a clean slate). I honestly think the season had a lot more potential to be better if they handled all the loose plot threads with its villains. My brother loved Sh'okanabo but I found him an incredibly bland and dull doomsday villain and was more interested in seeing how they would come to dismantle Darius Dunn, who, like Oroku Saki, was a dangerous man with a good public reputation. I also wanted to see what they would do with the dark turtles and how they’d eventually turn on Dunn for his mistreatment and maybe be a key part in his downfall, but sadly, that never happened. I also actually forgot that Bishop was immortal when I watched the show in the past. Somehow, I never questioned why he was alive even after a 100 years. At one point I thought they were two different characters, and when I found out they were one and the same, I think my kid mind convinced myself that President Bishop was a descendent of the Villain Bishop just like Cody was to Casey and April. Initially, I didn’t like how they made him into good guy, but after re-watching that episode when I was older, it’s an interesting route to take the character. He can’t be absolved of all the bad things he did in his life but he can definitely spend the rest of that immortality repenting. And as deliberately lighthearted as it was, I was genuinely glad that Baxter Stockman could regain his original human body (even though I cringed a little when Bishop called him a “friend”. This man was ready to relieve Stockman of more body parts when the latter was alive. Then he presumably died and they had no contact. Friend might be a little pushing it). Phew, that was a long comment. Man, I really love the series. I had boy classmates coming up to me back then to tell me I couldn’y watch it because it was “a boy’s cartoon” but I still really adore it. The former few seasons hold up pretty well even to this day.
Funny story, actually: those of us down here in Spanish-speaking countries who watched the show dubbed? We only made it up to Season 2 back in the day, and then they skipped over to this one. Seriously. The whole Battle Nexus thing ended, and then next thing you know, BOOM! Ads for the Turtles in the year 2105! No context for Bishop, or the whole thing with Baxter Stockman, and especially the Ninja Tribunal or Karai possibly being good. I can't even begin to tell you how weird the whole thing was, man.
Great review, but I wish you could have spoken about the character Torbin Zixx, that legendary mercenary and smuggler who the turtles occasionally met, fought, and teamed up with throughout this season. His character arc was the most interesting thing to me rewatching it, and I wish there was some more backstory to him. So much that although Fast Forward has some flaws compared to the original five seasons, it could be redeemed with a decent spinoff series fixing some of the plot holes and giving us more backstory to the future world the turtles are sent into, as well as a cool origin story about Zixx, like how he became a smuggler and why he's referred to as "Zixx the Enigma" or "Zixx of the Black Blade" occasionally. Anyway, just a thought. Thank you for bringing back my childhood memories with this series!
I remember feeling really weird seeing this season trashed on because fast foward was my first introduction to 2003 tmnt. I remember loving it too, the only thing that bummed me out was that there wasn't a future shredder lol, wish they went through with that triceratron shredder.
I was really young when I watched this, so this is the season that sticks out to me the most. While I don't actually remember much due to me probably being _too_ young or Sonic/Kirby obsessed, this one is always the specific season I think of the most when I remember 2003 TMNT. The parts I do remember are somewhat fond. I remember liking the villains a lot (in particular the smiling guy with red hair, seeing him here made me really nostalgic) Man, hearing what happened to FF Season 2 is saddening though. Having an endpoint there would be a great ending to the series, knowing that the future is well fought for and safe. Plus a chance for development on Stockman and Bishop would've been really cool, and a rare opportunity we missed out on as is.
Fast Forward and Back to the Sewers were when 4Kids kinda gave up on the Turtles and needed some new gimmick. Like 4 talking turtles with ninja weapons wasn't a gimmick in itself. Back to the Sewers suffered the worst because it almost didn't exist if they didn't come up with the cyberspace part. Like they refused to just have the Turtles return to modern day, they were determined to add something new, be it a card game motif, co-existing with the baby selves or the cyberspace gimmick.
Great retrospective! Yeah, I totally loved the redemption of Bishop and Baxter. That was great closure. Very cool that you mentioned Nano joining the Justoc Force. I remember being confused about that since it hadn't happened it but I was ecstatic to know that he also had a happy ending. You forgot to mention the cameo of the Cowboys of Moo Mesa as game characters and the Bebop appearing in the first ep. Would have loved to see more evil turtles, see them turn good and eventually stay with Cody as the real turtles leave but that wasn't meant to be. Sterling was annoying but I liked that kind of character. Loved that he ended up in the past too. Heh, you didn't mention that awful British robot police guy. You're in the home stretch! Your TMNT retrospective series has been amazing!
so legit when i watched the Leo fake future episode it was the most hype shit ever. and i remember being genuinely mad that it was all fake. so later when i saw the real ninja tribunal i got in trouble for screaming at the top of my lungs in excitement
FF is my favorite only because it’s a sci-fi future show where things are, idk, happy? Like it’s the only future New York I’ve ever seen where tech and aliens are used for a message of unity and positivity. “Cyber-Prep” was a term I’ve heard used.
As a fan who watched the '03 turtles via youtube and continues to do so, whenever i marathon this version I always all 7 seasons. Naturally the first 5 are top notch and i like to consider FF and BttS as extra material. Good things of FF: seeing the turtles be uncles/big brothers to April and Casey's descendant, Nature vs Nurture debacle with the Dark Turtles, Bishop redemtion and positive future for Stockman, and something I am very greatful, the turtles taking a break from very high stakes. I liked that the turtles got to enjoy themselves, bro bonding, growing as ninjas with their father and being able to walk around without fear of judgement from new yorkers. They deserved the break. Also, it feels like it shows how much they love their life and what they have by having them reminisce, Raph the most.
You;re correct about a lot of us watching up until season 4... each time you've said there was another season in this retrospective I was slackjawed because I had thought there couldn't be anything beyond 4.
What Donny said about altering The future based on different choices, I feel like the future that was from the journal Was going to be season seven but they changed it because they were so nosy and Changed the timeline
I hated how we never got season 2 of this. I really wanted the Utrom shredder to return bc his ending left me like "so that's really the last we see of him?". Also I feel like the Dark Turtles (especially the Leo clone) had so much potential to redeem themselves. Really wish they would have done the "Turtles Turtles Everywhere" Episode to see the Dark Turtles hopefully redeem themselves and Dunn to be finally defeated.
1:59 Back when my "TMNT" DVD collection was severely small the primary access way to my biggest childhood obsession was a channel that weekly showed random episodes from the first 4 seasons and "Fast forward". And there's no hiding that I absolutely adored the bright stylish high tech estetic of "Fast forward". The fact that, as the time went on, "Fast forward" was impossible to find on DVD for some reason made the memories of it all the more special. As of today, I believe "Fast forward" to be the absolute low point of the show - even worse than "Back to the sewer" because "Back to the sewer" genuinely tried to get back into shape - and the only people to blame are the producers. I must notice, though, that the amount of thought and care put by the creative team into these initially stillborn seasons is still enough to make them rival things like 2012 "TMNT".
As flawed as this season is I love the concept of Dark Turtles and the Dark Leo episode. The way he started off trying to trick turtles and then having genuine doubts about his choices after he interacted with them was top-tier writing this show is known for.
11:24 I had actually watch Stockmen’s failed body experiment episode right before I found out about this episode so it was actually nice to see he finally gotten a happy ending.
just as i said before the 2003 had a similar problem as 80's version, but in reverse: the 80's was mix of action and comedy in the begining, but in the latter seasons started to become so goffy and corny that stoped having any stakes, and people stoped to care, and then in later seasons they tried to overcorrect by making them more "dark and edgy",yet failed the 2003 started as mix of action and comedy ,but in the latter seasons started to become too dark and edgy that started to make it fells to gratuitous and it was,and then in later seasons they tried to overcorrect by making them more "funny and family friendly",and also failed at least 2012 ended where its was supposed to end................and then they screw up with Rise of TMNT.......
So much Mega Man music for a series set in 21XX... truly a man of culture. I suppose Batman Beyond is probably the ur-example of how to do a 'future sequel' series right. Seeing this season's negatives almost makes me want to commit the cardinal sin of underestimating kids' intelligence, thinking that many of these episodes were predictable and 'stock' because a younger audience wouldn't be experienced enough to find it that way. There is potential here for lots of other stories involving descendants or remnants from previously established characters and settings, but it sounds like they were scared to make another villain as lethal and threatening as the Shredder, and so the new ones outside of Darius Dun are just bland.
Fast forward was for me just a fun time I remember watching it more growing up and I guess that was the point and it worked I still always rewatch it at least once a year just for fun
For the journal episode, I wished there was a brief divide of the Turtles if they should read it or not, and a in surprise twist, Mikey actually opposed it citing a bunch of time travel movies on how the future changed for the worse if they changed the past. But Donnie will be the one to convince them all by telling them about him going to the future in "Same as Never Was" and how they were able to prevent it by stopping the Shredder in Exodus.
I wouldn't say the fast forward season killed the 2003 series there were ideas and characters I did like examples being the Dark Turtles, the alien shogun guy (I forgot his name ) and Viral characters that I wish might come back in a future series. I'll give it a 7/10 wasn't perfect but there were cool ideas and potential.
Honestly if this was treated as a sequel series as a palate cleanser after all the darkness of season five it might have helped a lot with the reception. I enjoy a dark story as much as the next guy. However even I need a fluffy stuffed bunny after getting screamed in the face by an anamatroic.
the next season after it killed it, the characters were fine and the mystery of this hidden eldritch being was fascinating not to mention kicking 2003 shredder's ass lol , though that one light bomb being this uber powerful kinda killed the tension.
I didn’t really hate Fast Forward It really did have some good things going for it, but they didn’t really need to do this. The turtles having future adventures could at least be like a multi-episode arc but not an entire season. Also I love the theme song.
Even as a kid I remember being really disappointed by the art style and setting change. So much so that I ended up not watching alot of it. But now I heard how you've talked about it and how it still makes a huge effort to keep the continuity going maybe I should've gave it a chance.
Hey J, not sure if you're aware of it but you've mentioned all the other 2003 series games and I'd hate to see you leave it out completely. But, there's a Smash Brothers clone ninja turtles game for the Nintendo Wii called TMNT: Smash-Up. It has the art style and aesthetics of the 2007 animated movie, but it has the Utrom Shredder and an Utrominator. So it was clearly meant to be inspired at least somewhat by the 2003 series. Shredder even has Cyber Shredder as an alternate skin.
Fast forward is not only what brought me into the turtles, it's just sooo nostalgic. i remember looking on youtube for free Fast Forward episodes, while bopping to the theme song.
Honestly, when Fast Forward came out I thought it was meant to be a spinoff show and not season 6. The subtitle, the different color palette and look of the designs, the whole plot revolving around how the turtles weren't in the past but in a completely different time without (most) of the old supporting characters
Fast Forward was the last season I saw most, if not all, the episodes for. I couldn't do it with Back to the Sewers due to life getting in the way and some other factors lessening my interest. I'm really glad I got to see the last episode of the series though, as even without the context for the final season, it's such a nice send off, especially after knowing Casey and April's weddin was a thing thanks to Fast Forward. I don't remember the Dark Turtles at all though. Or the Awakening Day stuff. Stockman getting his happy ending after 100 years is there vividly though.
Ah, first, the Turtles arrive in a style similar to Terminator I. You forgot Jammerhead and his gang, the Street Phantoms. Thugs with cloaks that make them intangible being able to pass through solid objects via Danny Phantom. And in Viral's introduction episode we get cameos of heroes and villains from Wild West Cow Boys of Moo Mesa. Plus the way they set up Mikey's Chunin exam was clever: Leo testing Invisibility, Raph invulnerability and Donnie insight plus a fourth ability Splinter commented, Humility. Also a little detail but Grudge Match saw the return of the new younger and less evil Ultimate Ninja who manages to soften Leo's hardening heart calling him a friend. One of my fave episodes is when Zix finally gets his comeuppance in the end. Can't wait for this series finale.
15:00 Ya, This was originally meant to go somewhere because there was meant to be a Fast Forward season 2. But that got scarped because of back last from the fans. So they decided to take things Back To The Sewers. (Wait, why am I telling you this? You already know about It)
I remember when Fast Forward first aired and not liking it very much, but I still watched it. It always felt like the Turtles' power levels had been reset. I also thought there were multiple seasons of Fast Forward because it went on for so long.
I was that kid that wanted to be Robin for Halloween. However, it was specifically the Teen Titans version, who is much more Batman-like than something like TNBA Tim Drake.
I still mourn the Dark Turtles. Younger me never knew why they never showed up again after the Dark Leo episode. And knowing now that a season 2 never came to fruition, I just think the Dark Turtles deserve to be in a new iteration. Give them a chance to exist again...
Thanks for the reviews. I binge-watched the five previous part on the same day. I've only watched a couple episodes of TNMT, when I catched them on TV as a kid, but now I might watch the whole show. Can't say I'm a fan, obviously, but I did always like the turtles, I just had no access to them. Anyway, cool to see how much so many people enjoyed TNMT and what they meant for them, as the comments show. We've all have that connection to some IP from when we were kids, and it's genuingly a relief for me to see I'm not the only one keeping the inner child alive ;) I bet some of you are aspiring creators like me, so keep at it, otherwise these great things that amazed kids and gave adults some needed evasion wouldn't exist... Best of luck to you all, and keep in mind that your future is what you'll make of it (otherwise someone will make it for you).
'Everyone loves evil dopplegangers' Well...to be honest...I do. The most powerful enemy is the darkness inside you and manifesting it as a material threat is downright scary. Are you facing what could have been? Also, Wario is one of Nintendo's greatest creations to the point that he has surpassed evil doppleganger into his own being
Still one of my favorite series of all time, and I agree with you about season 6 in this video. Looking forward to season 7 and Turtles Forever!! Thanks J!! Love the content.
I got a man fast forward was definitely one of the biggest thing you need twists on teenage mutant Ninja turtles it was said to have a third season as well with so many concept and behind the scenes stuff but unfortunately they couldn't go through with it because of the issues it was pretty good from my perspective.
Fast Forward wasn't by any means a bad show but it wasn't anything great. Many of the villians seemed one-offs and not that important but only having 1 season probably hurt. Having to follow up 03-07 was a really tough spot for Fast Forward. The villians of Fast Forward had to compete against: the Elite, Foot Mystics, Karai, Hun, Baxter, Chapman, Bishop, & Shredder which is a really great rogues gallery with: X-Men, Spider-Man, Batman, & Superman having close or better villians. This is a great explanation as to why when I talk about Turtles I specify with 03-07 excluding Fast Forward & Back to the Sewers
5:15 your criticism of this phrase is completely justified and correct. HOWEVER as a child I would get extremely hype every time they said that so I think they had the right idea for their younger audience.
When I was a kid, I actually didn't have access to TV to watch past season 4 so I came to 5 and 6 as college student. I'm glad that you didn't hate this season, because I didn't as a college student. It wasn't amazing, but it was enjoyable and I'm glad we had it.
This was my introduction to the ninja turtles so I've always been a little biased about its quality. I think this video sums up the good and the bad quite well
It’s the fact that it was so abrupt when it came out I remember as a kid really getting into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their new powers from the necklace inner power I was really looking forward to seeing what they were going to be able to do with their new powers and found attitudes and then Out of nowhere fast forward more like go back in time. I was hoping that they asked for it will only be for a couple episodes and then they will go back in time but they stayed so long I stopped watching the turtles.
When I was a kid I assumed this was a spinoff of the original series, seeing as the original series has a finale that wraps everything up and the artstyle for this show is different.
