What some people fail to understand is that you can not claim self defense without an explanation of why you had to defend yourself. If you know the law well enough to not self incriminate and you are legitimately defending yourself you can explain how you felt in the moment and why you felt the need to do whatever you did in self defense. You can get a lawyer but it may get you detained for a longer period of time and if you did nothing wrong it could cost more money and time than it has to
