I think it's made pretty apparent in the movies that Gandalf knew about the Balrog pre-Moria. After Frodo makes the decision to cross through Moria, Saruman starts to narrate and mentions that Gandalf "knows what the Dwarves awoke in the darkness of Khazad Dum".
The problem is that the movies are way diff from the books, originally, Gandalf was the one who wanted to go into Moria, and Aragorn was the one who wanted to climb Carathras. There’s no way in hell Gandalf would’ve willingly led the company through Moria if he knew about the Balrog. All he knew was that there was something named “Durin’s Bane” that had brought about the ruin and death of Durin’s people
Love the video! Games workshop wasn’t something I had expected to remember today lol. Would love to see more videos on the old kingdoms of Arnor/numenor, or maybe something on the witch king of Angmar
You explan it perfectly.👌🏼 Thanks, it really filled some gaps that i had in my mind about this part of story. ( mostly assuring that i assumed right 😉) Also please try do one about Celebrimbor and another about Shelob.🙏🏻
Many says that the Balrog woke up because he felt a power ( Gandalf bc he is maiar) But when Gandalf was looking for Thrain. He went trough Moria and the Balrog did not react. So I think the ring and Gandalf together was enough to get the Balrog to wake up.
I have liked both videos. It’ll be great to see you focus on LOR because Amazon is working in a LOR tv show, I’m pretty sure you know this. Keep it up George, cool to see you as a Ranger.
Another great video man I love this stuff the Lord of the rings the lore of the Middle Earth man keep doing these please I really enjoy this kind of stuff
hope you are well George!!! sorry i got here late ^_^ would really like to see a video about the "hollin" elves i believe they're called its been so long since i read the books, but the elves who planted the trees at the gates of moria who also worked stone like dwarves and were in fact great friends with them :) i thought it was so interesting as a kid considering the hostility between the other factions of those races :')
Not from Lord of the Rings, but since you asked for suggestions even if they weren't LotR hopefully it is okay. But what about Merlin or Uther Pendragon (Arthur's father)
Hey do you think falka is an ancestor of ciri? Based on the research I have done fenn and codhringer think so but Francesca doesnt. It is a most interesting topic. Btw sorry for asking it on the wrong channel, witcher george.😁😁😂🤷♂️
