Really like how Wright's contribution was so raw that the only analysis needed is just a highlights reel. Sometimes bball can be as simple as getting the ball and putting it in the basket.
I did it like a highlights video because the video was about defense. But I sort of agree in the second part of your comment. It's a good idea btw to make a video about Wright, and how he transformed Oly ;)
@@BasketHead Yeah I was kiiiind of joking with my comment. But I also think Oly is playing a much simpler version of their basketball when Wright is on the floor. Simple PnRs and high-low passes. And the reason probably is a combination of Wright's immense offensive talent and the lack of time to learn the team's more complicated plays. Shows how coach B can adjust his philosophy to fit the player.
I don't know if Olympiakos will be able to take eventually the home advantage. The only thing I know is that no one wants to confront Olympiakos in the playoffs with or without home advantage.
@@dimitris.t1130 He got 2 euroleagues on a time were even Real Madrid were on a bit of a down fall for some time he had Misic and Larkin bombing 3 points from even their homes living room after that everyone knew how to counter his 2 star players and Efes downfall began so and with Panathinaikos everyone knows his tactic the ball to Nun for quick easy points if not to Grigonis or Mhtoglou for 3 points
@@rackhir100 considering olympiacos plays a passive passing game that involves all 5 players in the court to cooperate and score instead of just throwing 3 points then and there like other teams do(Monaco-Efes-Real Madrid) Yes 71 points was a masterclass
One coach has 3 titles the recent years and the other 0. If you think the one with 0 titles the recent years is better dont.make dreams about your life. You are terrible in making decisions.
Great insights mate. That kind of videos make me appreciate Ataman's work even more. It's rather than easy to beat Coach B and this Olympiacos team. Especially on the road. Keep up the good work!
Yeah it s a really complicated code. It goes like this "let s play iso with Nunn half possessions and the other half play pick n roll with Grant while Nunn looks around taking a rest and hope for the best".
@@BasketHeadNope man. That’s literally what they’ve been doing from the beginning of the season till now. Lessor sets a screen for Nun, so that he can get an open three pointer and shoot it, every single time. Otherwise they will play iso with nun. They’ve been lucky so far that neither lessor nor nun have been seriously injured. When this happens, their season is over. Olympiacos has had many serious injuries throughout this season. They learnt how to survive in difficult situations and that’s what made them stronger. I am telling you, it’s our turn to raise the euroleague trophy!
It is so easy for the best coach the last 2 years in Euroleague to stop pick and roll and iso game. Pao doesn't have another plan at offense. Piece of cake for coach bartzokas
1Olympiacos could (and should) have won much more easily if a) the open looks in the 3rd quarter would have dropped to increase the lead b) Nunn and a couple of other players didn't score some crazy circus shots that kept them in the game (thinking for example a Papapetrou shot off the glass or Sloukas attempt through a block from Peters etc) Specifically the momentum of the 3rd quarter was for a 10+ point lead for Oly but Nunn's crazy 3+1 play made it a close game again out of nowhere. In the previous minutes Oly missed open 3s with Canaan and some easy baskets (that would have also been +1) from Petrusev and Fall. But that's how basketball is, especially in derbies. Small moments can decide the whole game
Can say the same as a Panathinaikos fan though. Our players also missed wide open shots, they also had the momentum in the first half and If they were not so careless with the ball they would've had a big lead in the half. Panathinaikos could have won this game If a couple of shots would have gone in in the last minutes of the 4th, but that's basketball.
Yeah no shit, had Nunn been more careful with passing, had Grigonis hit the open looks and had Lessort played better defense, Panathinaikos would have won. WTF logic is that?
@@emilio9350 No I am not talking hypothetically, the shots were there, they simply didn't go in. Pana after the 1st quarter scored almost exclusively on 1on1 situations and with hard shots. Agreed that Grigonis missed some open looks too though. The important part was the momentum of the game which was leading to an easy Oly win until Nunn scored a couple of crazy shots. Anyways
This is the second derby within a month with a very similar scenario: PAO forcing early turnovers and getting a lead, Olympiacos recovering despite horrible shooting, hitting PAO in the paint, getting a lot of transition points and Wright sealing the game in the final minutes. From a tactical perspectice Olympiacos are one step ahead right now, but we are all expecting Ataman to come up with some response rather sooner than later
Is it possible to compare this game to the two games in ESAKE as Panathinaikos won both of them, but PAOBC posted a long declaration after the second one about the (Greek) referees?

Basketball quality and tactial details reached the top after the break in EL. This bullshit annual schedule doesn't work. Let them teams train together man.
Olympiakos defence intensity is always over that blurry line of a foul whistle. Mpartzokas is a really good coach and obviously has more than one plans. As long as the ref enable such a rough game, the result will be a 75-70 as final score. Whenever lessort was left with a forward after a switch he was being massively fouled, Moses wright was boxing him too. Many of olympiakos steals were the outcome of risky hands on the ball that mostly get called as fouls. Yet olympiakos won only by 6. After all there's the unwritten rule that that you can't do more than 22 fouls in a single game. Oly had 21.
If EL was like NBA and everything was called, then Oly would have been a different team and Bartzokas would have had different game plans. But with ifs noone makes the right conclusions
@@TMPOUZI I am not sure that what you are saying makes sense.Watching another euroleague's game. If you watch any other game by any other team you ll clearly see that olympiacos is playing amazing defense And that he is allowed a tougher game than any other team.
@@rackhir100 well I don't see that. EL generally is a league where physical plays and especially borderline defence are allowed. Even NBA analysts say that. If your team is soft, it will meet its well-deserved fate
Great analysis, as always. Allow me to say that more than half of the red steals and green turnovers are results from strong physical defence and non called fouls. This defence can be accepted by refs only when treated similarly on the other side of the court as well, which I didn’t see during P3 and especially crucial P4. Furthermore, Pana paid Grigonis’s bad day who lost important open shots and allowed oly defence to close inside and focus mostly on Nunn, Grigo with out any doubt, is a very important player for coach Ataman’s basic plays and offensive plan and his superior shooting ability from the perimeter was mostly needed.
@@PersonaPrime Why? its the truth...Basketball is not football...By the book of basketball laws, the defence olympiakos plays 60% of the games are fouls. You cant blame them though for playing like that. When you luck offensive talent, it is kinda natural to play hard defence in order to steal the game

@@TMPOUZI "my team"? Don't let the Greek overwhelm you...if you mean PAO, well, Real can verify what they can handle or not...one thing is sure: when the refs favor you and allow american football tactics in bball you can't do much
Your team is playing just as hard defence, borderline fouling, and the refs are favoring Trakis' team, cause he spends money in every direction. Winning once Teal Madrid does not make you the best team in Europe. Getting in the final match after a whole season, after winning your opponents in the play-offs make you the best team. Any team can beat any team in one match, everybody knows that and admits that except if you are a toddler or a fanatic. American football tactics is your team's propaganda. Lose the green shades on your eyes, and enjoy basketball.

@@thanell1373 That's only your opinion.Stress is not as important as you think. The Euroleague, Greek Cup, and Greek Super Cup results prove that Olympiacos has a better team than Panathinaikos. The opinion that Ataman is a better coach than Bartzokas can only be heard as a joke.
