I bump this song everyday. The historical context and timing is what transcends this record from elite to timeless. I found this record when I was looking for some clarity and was beyond angry when this event happened. And music is the most expressive way to capture that that feeling. The atmosphere of the song can’t be understated. It’s like capturing a mood you can’t describe, like trying to explain how water tastes…taking that unexplainable feeling and capturing it in a time capsule. Don’t get me wrong. I bump all TMR records and even went through the treasure trove archives from 7 years ago . Would’ve never known about those other bangers if it this didn’t speak to me first. But every artist always has THE song that pulled you in initially and the rest of the catalogue keeps you there. But I think a lot of TMR fans can agree that this is his Shook Ones Part II, his Stan, his Halftime, etc.
