Welcome to Day 6 of my AT thruhike where I get to experience hiking in the rain for 6 hours! Featuring my new hiking buddies: Emily, Teresa, and Jane! We hiked through the rain and the cold and the wind and oooh boooy was it a doozy! Everything was soaked through, we had soggy feet, we were cold. These are the other realities of a thruhike. Thankfully, my story today ends with the most incredible Trail Angels saving us from my first rainy day!

Had me teary-eyed. So nice to know that there's still kind people in the world willing to share their home with weary hikers. I know it wasn't a great day to be on the trail, but you're living your dream, and no one said it would be perfect. Lol Y'all are doing great! ✌️🫶

Thanks for sharing Hootie. Ash you know the cold and wet weather doesn’t improve for a while. But certainly, you are handling the wet weather better than me (skulking off to a hotel). I must say I’m looking forward to watching you grow (and shrink) over the coming months. Good luck for now. Swampy.

Haha ain't that the truth? This first rainy day, we were spoiled by our Trail Angels, but you know that later on, we had to face the rain head on... for like 3 days...?! Hahaha
