If I stumbled across some OG pressings from bands I like, I would definitely still have picked up if I had in collection already. Something magical about playing original vinyl and especially at that price!
It would have been daft to leave them at that price, Mike. You'll easily get more for them if you flog them and someone somewhere will have covers for sale so could be an interesting search for you 👍😉
That's a good price. I would prolly have picked them up too. Maybe you'll find some completely unplayable copies with covers that are in decent shape that you can use.
I would have absolutely bought those as well for that price. Give them a bath, print out a vaguely acceptable cover and you'll be satisfied enough! Get some plain outer cardboard sleeves, I've seen them around, and stick an A4 cover art to the front. Turbo is polish and good stuff. Honestly great haul!
100% I'd have picked them up but to be fair I don't know what I'd have done with them as I reckon it would be hard for me to find homes for them 🤔 but anyone who sells on discogs or just wanted the music it's a no brainer! 🤘🏻
100% would have bought them too, then I would comment on every specific release on discogs saying to message me if looking to sell a cover. Also if you already have some or find them in the future you can choose one disc as your play copy etc. Hopefully they will clean up nicely! Congrats on the finds!
They've cleaned up quite nicely. I'm happy with the playback on them. I think the chance of covers turning up is very slim. Metal fans seem to have a hoarding mentality
I buy records for listening, so would definitely have done the same. For the the one's I really like I would then find a copy with the cover. Sacrilege are really good, and Within The Prophecy is one of their best.
Turbo are from Poland, the "Last Warrior" is the English version of their 1987 album. I guess you mixed them up with Target, they´re a Thrash band from Belgium. I would have bought them as well... nice and cheap haul.
Hi Mike!!! i think i would have done the same thing and for that price, but yes the main thing is what happened to the cover? what damaged maybe? stolen?.... but like many would say "you play the music, not the cover". Hope you can find the missing pieces soon. cheers
No i wouldn't have bought those, but of course the main thing is if you're happy about it. I've never bought an album without a sleeve, i try not to buy a single without a picture sleeve if i know it's been released with a picture sleeve. It is likelier to find an album sleeve without the lp than other way round so i don't think it's impossible for you to find sleeve's for those. I once found a sleeve for my Elton John album. For which i already did have a sleeve, it was an upgrade. Pasi
That's total madness! It really makes you wonder what happened to them. At the end of the day, you pay for the music, not the packaging. So, if the records actually play good then getting them for £2 each is an absolute steal! Though I understand it feels like they're not complete without the outer sleeve and cover art. I probably would have done the same, because it's still getting the albums right. Cool pickups Mike 😁🤘🏻
Yeah I think it would have annoyed me if I'd left them and I suppose if I don't like having them in this condition I can probably get my money back on them at least
@metalmickey Yeah that's fair enough, I totally get that. At that price you have to take them. And you could easily double your money on them if you wanted to sell them
I probably would have done the same thing. At least you can check them all out cheaply and act as a placeholder until you can snag full copies down the road. At that point, you have a spare inset/LP in case the full version you buy has imperfections. A weird, but cool acquisition. Cheers!
If you like the music, but didn't have the albums, it isn't a waste of money. If you already had some of the albums, you have a backup in case something happens to one of them.
If I was a vinyl collector I would have snapped them up for that price as well especially all being og presses I'd imagine copies complete with covers sell for silly money on discogs and ebay
The music is what matters and you may very well find a cover with a nackered record down the line. I would have jumped on it. There is cover only selling Facebook pages out there but not seen much metal on it. I’m looking out for a cover of the MFN OG version of Savatage Sirens as I found just the record.
We're gonna have to arrange an intervention for these degenerate vinyl addicts. I do dig that Pestilence debut though, lol. Not familiar with Turbo or Living Death. Sacrilege...i was thinking a French band.
I don't think you've wasted you're money but I I probably wouldn't have done the same, far too anal for that! Mind you when you think about it lots of people buy music digitally, with no cover, no inner and not record or cd at all - that's far more daft if you ask me... Omen The Curse is a cracking album.
I've found on Amazon a pack of 10 White sleeves. I might try and see what I can cobble together by way of a cover. Certainly annoying that they've been separated somewhere along the line
