I got emotional watching this. So many times, I fall short and repent. I am discovering how wretched I am, but the assurance of salvation because I have "mustard-seed-faith" can be an overwhelming concept. I just want to be with Christ now and forever. That is all I want, but I'm also discovering what separates me from him as well. It's all so simple and yet so complicated. Thank God for his holy and divine son, the King of all Kings, Yahweh, Yeshua, Lord Jesus Christ!

the best question is "Once you believe, do you always believe?" ask yourself that. Think about your life's beliefs, " do you always believe in them?" The scriptures your giving us is in present tense, "believes" not "believed".
@ShamelesslyRed
@ShamelesslyRed Месяц назад
No, that's not the best question. At the point of being born again, you are sealed, and NO ONE can snatch you from His hand" That includes you in your rebellion. Or me. Or anyone who is born of God's will. He will discipline you. Hebrews 12:8-9. And it does hurt. But the Father doesn't lie. And because He can't lie, His children do not perish but have EVER LASTING LIFE. It's tragic that anyone doubts this. Think of the harm done to the sheep in telling them they can be eternally separated from the Father. It creates immediate fear and disbelief in them for what's already been done. It's a doctrine of devils to preach against eternal security

@@ShamelesslyRed Have you read the Parable of 10 Virgins? The salt and the light?(Matt 5;13) , Rev 3? Lukewarm believers?( Jesus will spew them out of His mouth) Have'nt you read any of those? You have been deceived.

@user-po6yi3yg2j no, I haven't been deceived. And parables do not contradict eternal security. None of those verses teach losing salvation. @ShamelesslyRed Paul even says in Romans, "unless you believed in vain." There are people who believe, and later recount their belief (apostasy), and then blaspheme the Holy Spirit. Apostasy is described in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 1 Timothy 4:1, Hebrews 3:12, Luke 8:13, Hebrews 6:4-6, 2 Peter 2:20-22, etc. And, parables, are part of scripture, therefore, they do, in fact, teach lessons regarding eternal salvation. 10 Virgins Lamps, is about people, who were once pure believers, failing to keep their fire burning, and consequently, being locked out of the kingdom by their Lord. We see throughout Revelation, our Lord, removing the candles of believers - churches. Also in Revelation, we see believers taking the mark if the beast, and therefore, losing their salvation. Lukewarm Christians being vomited out. Sorry, but that one is point blank. You either obey His first command - love thy God, or you are not worthy of Him. But these are believers... No, these are tares among the wheat. They are goats among the sheep. They are seed falling on rocky ground. We also read in the book of Acts, two separate accounts of believers losing their salvation. First, Ananias and his wife Sapphira in Acts 5. And secondly, Simon Magus, in Acts 8. Sorry, my sister, but you are following a false doctrine. Yes, only the blood of the Lamb can save us. And we are saved in this belief. Not of our works. "Faith without works is dead." Meaning, you should see fruit come from your belief. "Unless you believed in vain." Vain: empty, hollow, not producing works. "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." Matthew 24:13 You are not saved. You are being saved. But if you do not endure, or you believe in vain, or you blaspheme the Holy Spirit, or you take the MARK, you will not be saved. 1. Justification 2. Sanctification 3. Glorification Shalom

I believe the phrase should be “Once justified, always justified.” There are three salvations: salvation from the penalty of sin (immediate justification by trusting in Christ’s sacrifice), salvation from the power of sin (sanctification by Holy Spirit), and salvation from the presence of sin (glorification for eternity). Justification is the guarantee of eternal life, sanctification is my obedience to and growth in Holy Spirit, glorification is my life in G-d in His presence for eternity).

I'm going to bring some other bible verses to the table to see if someone could kindly explain them since I think they're somewhat speaking against once saved always saved. - 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (Paul says that we need self-discipline to "win the race". Followed by a warning from Israel's history where although people were saved from Egypt, not every one of them got to enter the promised land.) - Mark 4:18-19 "Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful." (The parable show that there are people who first listen to the word but this world making it unfruitful. In other parts of a scripture like James 2:26 and Mark 11:12-25 where Jesus curses a fig tree, shows that faith without fruits (or works) is dead. We need faith to believe. This shows us that, unlike Jesus' mercy, our belief is something that we can lose. And if we do, we must remember that in John 3:16 "whoever believes in him". - Matthew 18: 21-31. "... Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ In anger, his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.” (Jesus clearly says how our heavenly Father treats us unless we forgive our brothers and sisters. In my understanding, this shows that God expects more from us after we are saved.) And for you to know, I'm not trying to disprove the idea of "once saved always saved". I'm just a one follower of Christ who tries to figure things out by staying true, not only for some but for all that is written in the Bible.

Salvation is conditional so long as you are obedient to God. Once saved, always saved? Sorry, but this sounds a lot more like the easy way out and justification to continue to live a sinful lifestyle once you have chosen to believe. This is heresy. I in no way am trying to undercut that salvation is through Christ, but I detest the idea that we can continue to live a sinful lifestyle and still enter the kingdom of heaven after death. The doctrine of unconditional eternal security appears in Genesis 3:4, where the serpent said to Eve, “You surely will not die!” (NASB). As an agent of Satan, the serpent gave Adam and Eve a false sense of security, making them willing to sin. They proved the error of this doctrine when they sinned and forfeited eternal life on the earth. Anyone who tells you that you can believe in Jesus Christ as your personal savior yet continue to sin without ANY consequences and repentance is not sharing the gospel. They are doing the bidding for Satan.

@@dough3821 Based on the teachings of Jesus in the Bible, it is clear that repentance is an important aspect of salvation. In Matthew 4:17, Jesus says, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." And in Luke 13:3, he says, "Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish." In addition, the Apostle Paul writes in Romans 6:1-2, "What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?" Based on these teachings, it is clear that while accepting Jesus is necessary for salvation, repentance and turning away from sin is also a necessary component of salvation. It is important to continue to have discussions with others about beliefs and interpretations of the Bible, but ultimately, it is up to each individual to seek a personal relationship with Jesus and strive toward living a life that reflects His teachings. Here are more verses that talk about how deliberately sinning will result in eternal damnation. Hebrews 10:26-31 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” ... Hebrews 6:4-6 For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt. Also, while I have a different perspective on this topic, I still value and respect your beliefs and I will leave judgement on my soul or yours to Jesus instead of a mere human being (respectfully).
@yohannesferede9623
@yohannesferede9623 Год назад
@@dough3821 It is important to remember that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9) and not by any works that we do. However, faith in Jesus also involves a change in behavior and a turning away from sin (Acts 26:20). We cannot continue to willfully sin and expect to receive the benefits of salvation. In 1 John 3:6-9, it says "No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God." In James 2:14-26, it also says that faith without works is dead. Our faith in Jesus should result in good works and a desire to live a more righteous life. This does not mean that we will never sin again, but it means that we are actively seeking to follow Jesus and turn away from sin. Ultimately, it is not up to us to decide who is or isn't saved. Only God knows the heart and it is up to each individual to examine their own heart and relationship with Jesus Christ.

@yohannesferede9623 Год назад
@@dough3821 Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for engaging in this discussion. I understand that you believe the King James Bible is the most accurate translation, but it is important to note that there are many reputable translations available today, and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Regarding James 2:14-26, I believe that this passage is talking about the relationship between faith and works, and how one's faith is demonstrated by their actions. While it is true that we are justified before God by faith alone, this faith should lead to good works as evidence of our salvation. It is also important to note that repentance is a crucial part of faith in Jesus Christ. In Luke 13:3, Jesus says, "unless you repent, you will all likewise perish." Repentance involves turning away from our sins and turning to God. While we are saved by grace through faith, it is not a license to continue in sin. As believers, we should strive to live a life that is pleasing to God. I am confident in my faith in Jesus Christ and the promises of eternal life that He offers. While I do not claim to be perfect, I trust in His grace and righteousness to cover my sins. Thank you again for this discussion.
@yohannesferede9623
@yohannesferede9623 Год назад
@@dough3821 While it is true that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, Jesus also emphasized the importance of obedience in following Him. In Revelation 22:14, Jesus says, "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city." This implies that our obedience to Christ's commands is necessary for us to enter heaven and have eternal life. Furthermore, in John 14:15, Jesus says, "If you love me, keep my commands." This reinforces the idea that our love for Christ should lead us to follow His teachings and commands. In Matthew 7:21, Jesus says, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." Jesus is making it clear here that it is not just enough to acknowledge Him as Lord, but we need to do His will and obey His commands. So while we are saved by grace through faith, our faith should lead us to obey Christ and follow His commands. It is not about trusting in our works, but about living out our faith in obedience to Christ. As James 2:17-18 says, "Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, 'You have faith; I have deeds.' Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds." Our faith should lead us to live a life of obedience to Christ.

You can't go out and murder and be saved Jesus is our example and we should try our best to do what Jesus did and Jesus didn't murder anyone or sin in general and if "Once Your saved Your always saved" was true Jesus never said it was Yes He may say we will have eternal life and yes You are born again only 1 time You can still fall away, think of Peter He was saved and Jesus told Him he would deny Jesus three times he said he wouldn't but he did so he fell away even though he was saved there are many other people in the Bible that were saved but fell away.

Yes once saved we are always saved. The moment we believe and put faith in Jesus Christ that he died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins we are saved, we are justified in God's eye, we are reborn ( our old self died with Christ on the cross and we are new people) we are made righteous. It only happen once. At that moment the HolySpirit comes and dwell in us, when that happens we start seeing sin for what it is, SIN. The HolySpirit will guide us and convict us everytime we sin. When we are saved it doesn't mean we are sinless... Your example on Peter actually support OSAS ..when he realized what he did.. he cried and repented.. and yes he still saved. Once saved always saved YES I believe that.. and we still sin yes, because our fleshly nature always want to do sin and our spiritual nature wants to do God's will and these two fight all the time until the day we die. We just have to walk more in the spirit and how to do that? Read your Bible so you know what God want you to do and not fall in Satan's lie. The HolySpirit who dwell in a reborn Christian will help him/her to the truth, God's truth. That is the road to Sanctification. If someone said he has been saved and later on went and murder someone, she/he probably have never been saved in the first place. Because when you are saved you are a reborn Christian, you are a God fearing being... there's NO way you are able to do those sins.. the HolySpirit will convict you when you lie, so going your way and murder someone??? No way, I doubt it will happen to someone who had been saved or reborn.

There is a difference between discipleship and salvation. The “why do you call me lord lord but don’t do as I say” refers to the people that proclaim to know God because of their religious works but they haven’t believed. Jesus did tell us to not sin anymore because sin will have earthly consequences, but we won’t lose our salvation, we will just have earthly punishment from God. Hope this helped!

The question is not whether 'once saved always saved'(OSAS) is true or not. It is verifiably true! The question is how do you define salvation? Those who dispute 'OSAS' have mostly been programmed by performance based teaching/teachers from birth. Highest achievers get the best/highest rewards. The good, beautiful, talented and genius are always elevated. While the naughty, plain, clumsy and struggling are left in the dust by a self indulgent proud world. This performance based teaching permeated the church from the very beginning. Law verses Grace. Everything has always been performance based, theres always someone better, smarter, prettier, holier and etc... It's when The Spirit of Truth, by God's Grace helps us to realize that none of that matters? That our sin sick souls are all destined to death and hell regardless of our beauty or station? That only God's perfect love, sacrifice and victory through the precious perfect blood of His one and only Son Jesus Christ matters. When this wonderful truth and our understanding, acceptance and embracing of it meet? By simply believing it? That then, there is a beautiful transformation, just like the caterpillar turning into a butterfly. True Salvation is a perfect undeniable work that cannot be reversed. Try turning a butterfly into a caterpillar. God's perfect plan of redemption is far to planned out through the ages and wonderful, to be simply undone by poor performance. That's why He performed a perfect birth, through perfect Blood, a perfect life, through perfect Blood, a perfect death through perfect Blood and a perfect Resurrection through perfect Blood! He did it simply because He loved us so much and knew we couldn't! That perfect perfection is who we become in His eyes when true salvation happens. How is that undone? Ever see a butterfly trying to get back into a cocoon? I think not. Maranatha ☝️

"Go and sin no more" "If you love me, keep my commandments, he who says he loves me and keeps not my commandments is a liar amd the truth is not in him." Once saved always save is another falacy bordering on "licenced-to-sin" just like the RC church (first beast of Revelation) preaches "indulgences". A saved man will not try to justify his sin. Once saved, you can still stray too far until you are "luke-warm" faith and God will "spit you out". Don't confide in sin, confide in Christ to deliver you from sin. Once saved always saved is absolute garbage. Someone born again will not be okay with murder and still be saved.

Imagine the horrors of believing you can lose salvation from one day to the next! How would you even know if you are currently saved or are under a temporarily unsaved state? God does NOT leave us guessing, this is not Islam where they believe they find out on the day of judgment if they are saved or not, Jesus Christ gives us assurance that we are saved the second we put our faith and trust in Him!

@@Dispensational_David One thing that helps me in this area is to keep your eyes on the power cross. Jesus came to fulfill the law, and he didn't die on the cross so that we would still have to add in our own works. If we have to add in our own works that is only diminishing the cross and putting some of the onus on ourselves. Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast" Also, keep in mind that even 1 sin breaks us from the glory of God (James 2:10, Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23). If we were dependent upon our own works then we would all be doomed considering we all sin all day/every day. Even Paul struggled (Romans 7). When you become born again you literally have a new life (2 Corinthians 5:7), it would be illogical to think that a new creation can be undone.

justification *(in the eyes of God; Romans 4:1-5)* comes from faith *(hebrews 11:1)* in Jesus’ finished work on the cross resulting in salvation by grace: romans 10:1-10, Romans 4:1-5, John 3:16-18, ephesians 2:8-10, galatians 2:15-21, titus 3:5-7, galatians 3, John 3:36, Romans 1:16, 1 John 5:13, romans 11:6, romans 5, acts 16:31 , romans 3:21-22, phillipians 3:9, John 5:24 and w faith comes the opportunity to show works(hebrews 11:8) *(which justify you in the eyes of men, help your brothers in humanity; james 2. and store rewards in heaven Luke 14:13-14 )* but the works don’t give you eternal life/justify you. so works don’t affect salvation. (titus 3:5-7) 2 different justifications (luke 16:15) i THINK if u lose faith = lose salvation because believing is our side of the covenant, its conditional to have eternal life, u must have faith but if we stop believing do we also stop being justified? cuz hebrews 10:26-39 i think might be talking about believers holding on to their faith cuz if you lose “confidence” / faith or draw back “my soul shall have no pleasure in him” and that if they lose it, its impossible to get back hebrews 6:4-6 -if the people who were once made partakers of the holy ghost fall away (change their mind/ stop believing) it’s impossible to renew them again unto repentance (changing their mind again)- john 6:39 απολεσωI - I might lose The word απολεσω is the 1st person single form of the verb marked similar below. Its tense is aorist (which indicates the mere fact of the action, with deliberate silence about when the action takes place or how long it would last), its voice is active (which indicates that the subject performs the action, instead of receives it), and its mood is subjunctive (which expresses *probability* or *possibility*). αναστησωI - I might rise (it *or all which he hath given me* up again at the last day.)

I would see the contradictions of ppl saying "you're saved forever but" so many times, I decided to go my own way cause that didn't seem right. It didn't seem right from what I knew to be true about what Jesus did and said. It didn't make sense that God would send his son down for temporary or conditional salvation. People try to poke holes where there are none in our belief in what Jesus said . They are ones who want to rely through works SO BAD they would read in what they want. They can't stand it's this easy. I'm just being consistent. I've dealt with people try to determine my salvation off of subjective human opinions and treat me a certain way because of it my whole life. I've even dealt with outright judgment from ppl who claim to spread the word, but just want to seem superior because they go to church so many times a week. But if it's not about works and I'm saved then there's no point in arguing about who looks more godly. It's safe to say that even those who fall away (if they were saved in the past) are washed of their sins also. Why is that the big GOTCHA? We are ALL unworthy so why does it stop at them? People who think we are wrong are the one's being inconsistent. He forgives us Past,present, and future. When we and "the fallen Christians" sin, even great sin, it's no longer counted against us! Why would ppl have such little faith in God that they believe his plan would be so flawed? That he would send his son to die and rise for us just for us to have to earn our way? AND STILL NOT HAVE CONFIDENCE in him. God is NOT a liar, so I HAVE to have confidence in him. Why wouldn't God get as many as he possibly could? Like the Bible said he never let's us go even if we go away from him. I can't help but feel that these kinds of people are either misled or the ones who want to save themselves. I'm sorry, but can someone tell me if I'm making sense lol😅I'm glad I found your channel, because my brother who is learning to be a pastor at his church, are sadly conflating works with grace all the time. They say you can't lose your salvation too, but they also they that that should show on the outside and that can prove whether you are actually saved. No wonder I've been back and forth with being conflicted and going back to what I know is true, that I am saved because of Jesus not because of what I do. This pushes away ppl who doesn't fit their standard of what a Christian looks like. Please pray for my brother and his wife🙏 He used to believe in Christ, but now he says things like you have to go to church and being taught to teach this

The contention is that Jesus warned believers that if they are not abiding in Him, thus not ready for the Bridegroom, they will be left behind at the pre great tribulation rapture event ( note verse 6 of John 15:1-8 & Luke 12:40-49 ) BUT believers err by thinking this is losing salvation when those left behind are still saved but missed out on being partakers of the first fruits of the resurrection as vessels unto honor in His House, vessels of gold & silver, thus left behind to die, but their spirits will be with the Lord in Heaven ( 2 Corinthians 5:7-11 & Revelation 6:9-11 ) to be resurrected after the great tribulation ( Revelation 7:9-17 ) as vessels unto dishonor in His House for not having looked to Him for help in departing from iniquity daily ( 2 Timothy 2:18-21 & Hebrews 12:1-11 ).
