Considering that Tolkien's mythology has a different introduction of evil into the cosmos than our own, I am of the opinion that Tom Bombadil is actually Middle-Earth's Adam, and Goldberry is its Eve; but they are an Adam and Eve who did not fall and so retained their incorruption and divinely-ordained authority over creation.
Exactly what I think! "Tom Bombadil is actually Middle-Earth's Adam, and Goldberry is its Eve; but they are an Adam and Eve who did not fall and so retained their incorruption and divinely-ordained authority over creation."
@@barrelagedfaithIn Baren and Luthien Sauron transforms into a snake. Seeing how Sauron’s ring didn’t affect Tom gives even more weight to this theory. Sauron is the serpent to Tom’s Adam and Goldberry’s Eve.
@barrelagedfaith Following, Tolkien lore, Orthodox Roots, Ancient Faith, Jonathan Pageau Lord of Spirits etc. here on youtube, (although I'm currently protestant) it was only a matter of time before your channel was suggested to me haha Thankful it did! I started a Christian channel this year and it's not the easiest platform for Christians to grow on. So I'm glad to see it, keep up the good work man!
@@barrelagedfaithI also couldn't help but seeing Tom command the willow (a force of nature)to save the group, parallel Jesus commanding the storm to save the Disciples. And Jesus resisting the Satan's temptations in the wilderness, paralleling Tom resisting the ring and it having no authority over him. What do you think?
@barrelagedfaith Awesome I appreciate that! I am looking forward to catching up on the content on your channel and seeing new videos, keep it up! (Also my channel is still in the early stages bare with me haha)
Tom Bombadil reminds me heavily of Khidr, called Melchisedec by the Bible. As you know, Melchisidec was an instructor of Abraham and taught him the holy rites. Muslims believe that Melchisidec also guided Moses, teaching him about theodicy and how God turns evil into good. Bombadil fulfills both these roles for Frodo, teaching him esoteric truths (As Khidr taught to Moses) and inviting the hobbits to a sacred feast (as he did for Abraham), as well as functioning as a mystical guide for those who are lost, another role of Melchisidec.
It is kinda true, Melchizedek seems to know how and what to do being outside of the adventure, while Abraham and his offspring are the protagonists very clueless at times
In the novel, Tom speeds through the forest and river singing joyfully in order to free the hobbits from the prison of the grave. What a contrast! Joy and singing with authority verses the shadow of death!
It would be nice of Christian’s were right about the amazing science of water embedded in this subject and the artwork the HOH. HOH is , as you seem to have missed here, and it’s okay- we evil gnostics will help you see- the Dipole structure of the water molecule. H20 is read out like the HOH artworks- with Christ in the center as Oxygen - reaching out to the hydrogen. Christ is the Ox- his yoke is easy? See it yet? Hello!?
