Did John Williams RIP OFF these classical pieces?

The similarity is mind blowing!! John Williams is the film music KING though so no disrespect. It’s just interesting to hear his inspirations!
Let me know what you think about these pieces by John Williams. Inspired or ripped off?! In another video I talk about “temp tracks” which film directors use as placeholders when they give the composer an edit. These could have been why they sound so similar!

Too many to be a coincidence. But then again he has had to write many hours of music, so maybe it's ok... You could add Shostakovich - Suite for Variety Orchestra: VII. Waltz No. 2. I can't think of which JW piece it is (maybe from Star Wars?) but it is one of them!

What about Ligeti's "Atmospheres" ... essentially the same as the mood music from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"

I wouldn't say ripped off but inspired by these people. John Williams is a musical genius and no-one should be disputing that. Without his many scores the world would be a poorer place.

To me, "inspired" would be if his pieces were reminiscent of classical works. Not that the passages are nearly identical with very minute changes, which is essentially plagiarism.

John Williams is just one big rip off. I am surprised someone hasn't done it to him. After all, anyone who copies John Williams just needs to point to the original. To be honest, John Williams disgusts me. At least he could acknowledge the original composer. He never does. He is a blad faced liar.

John Williams is an absolute fraude. The way he composes music is more akin to what a remix would be in pop music. Or how hiphop takes samples from 80's music. It's disgraceful. Across the stars from Star Wars Episode 2 is also a ripoff of Thaikovsky's Swan Lake as well.
