Yes. It's time for the public and for "Dr Todd" to admit that childhood abuse does NOT produce criminals - it produces victims of further abuse. I've been telling it for a very long time. Time to scrap childhood abuse as a mitigating factor in courts, wash the name of abuse victims clean!

I believe even a healthy mind tends to 'forget' or push away bad experiences in order to go on. It's generally not a nice thing to do in a relationship to keep bringing up past fights etc, right? Except, is tendency is very detrimental if someone continuously abuses you (mentally or otherwise), because the effect does linger, you just don't really know why... my feeling on the matter, anyway (because I wondered how come it was so hard for me to bring up examples when asked "what did I ever do to you" quite a few times....)

On that stand, we saw John Christopher Depp II, not Johnny Depp, the actor. In his own words at an interview with Tim Burton, he said that he is not a "talker", he is shy, and he doesn't like to watch himself on the screen. He was articulate when he finally gathered his thoughts. John was on that stand divulging his heart out to everyone. Regardless of his eloquence of speech or not, I found him to be truthful and believable. He was up on that stand to clear his name, and to try to prove that he is not a wife beater. I cannot express enough gratitude to Johnny Depp for his fearless truth in this case. The parallel he draws between his childhood and his marriage are priceless. I have NEVER found a Councillor, psychotherapist, psychiatrist etc etc that has show any understanding towards that, and the numbing that we (us survivors) seek from substances. Yay for the courage to deny 'partying' in favour of numbing after such decades of gruelling. The fact that he hardly got over his childhood, immersed in the next childish, power hungry relationship, once again stripping him of his right to be his true self, and the perfect and patient way in which he describes the situations, is FABULOUS. Here’s a nuance the good doctor missed: Johnny allowing Amber’s friends to inhabit penthouses in the same building where he and Amber lived also is a great indicator: it shows that he never tried to isolate her from her friends, which often happens in abuse situations. He welcomed the friends into their lives and also shared his friends with Amber. It’s a shame Amber is twisted in her thinking there was some benefit to setting Johnny up this way. Oh well, I hear they’re taking applications at the Chick-Fil- A.

When she finally broke me I was profusely crying and peered through my fingers to see if she regretted it but to my dismay I saw her smirking almost giggling . Proud of what she accomplished. Hearing Johnny say it's like I married my mother I felt the same way. I did the same as him as a father , the complete opposite of what my mother would do. My ex-wife and 3 girlfriends were narcissistic I believe I was groomed by my mother. My brother and sister were also terrified of our mother. She threw knives at me beat me with a stick broke my hockey stick on my back , kicked my sister in the head as she untied her boots like it was a soccer ball. She would fight like a man or exactly like a hockey fight. I'm glad she's dead and I'll never have to see her again and as for girlfriends I'm very comfortable alone and a hell of a lot richer.

I had a horrible father, grandfather and a godfather who all sexually molested me until around 4, when my previous communication skills were good enough to have told our secrets and my own sense of a public self about to attend school saved me from further covert sexual abuse to physical and psychological manipulations of a life long imprint in my now life of 71 years. Beatings and Berating was my narcissistic father's sublimations to pull back on the sexual abuse. He had two other daughters to take care of and straighten out as was his personal justification to rape the youngest into her early adulthood. I get how preposterous Heard in behaving but her deepest sickness has just oozed out beyond her uncontrolled behaviors in all the court issues between her and JD. They have both been very sick puppies but her Alpha Narcissism is a hot mess as she just has had to create so much drama around such a short term marriage. Thankfully truth telling, steadied by a huge outpouring of support worldwide far eclipses her fantasy and foolish viciousness is a comedy of continuing errors. She has allowed her actions to speak volumes of the ugliness of her spirit and duel to the death of whomever she has decided has done her wrong. She needs serious psychiatric care. Hopefully JD's healing will continue and for him to come to personal peace. AH is too invested in the mindlessness of how she has been living the high drama of great delusion. My father was verbally abusive... nothing was ever good enough; if I got 99 on a test, it was why the hell didn't you get 100?!!! Harped on my weight (I weighed 120 as a high school student), always found some way to make me feel like a failure. When my son was born, I swore he would never hear anything like that from me, and would always know that I loved him and believed in him. One day when he was in grade school, he said he thought he was funny looking, and I said, no, he was a smart and handsome fella. He said, "You're my mom, you have to think that!" And I just smiled.

It was very interesting to hear how he got into acting and had never intended to be an actor. A former boyfriend of mine worked on the set of 21 Jump Street and told how Johnny would retreat to his trailer at meals rather than socialize with the others. He thought Johnny was stuck-up but I wonder now if it was just that he needed time alone because he is an introvert. I had an abusive mother myself and it really does a number on you, partly because it's not socially acceptable to say your mother was abusive. Everyone will sympathize if you had an abusive father but if it was your mother, people just act like you must be lying. My mother actually said my father abused her, and I believed her for years until I actually thought about things I had witnessed as a young child and how she treated me and my little brother.

HOLLYWOOD PRODUCERS HAVE 100 YEAR HISTORY DEALING WITH AND INTERACTING WITH CREATIVE PERFORMERS - THEY'VE DEALT WITH AND SEEN FIRST HAND, BEHAVIORS LIKE DEPP'S. i'D PREFER CUTTING TO THE CHASE HERE; BOTH LEGAL TEAMS SHOULD SECURE AND QUESTION DEPP'S EMPLOYERS AND SUBPOENA ALL CONTRACTS AND DOCUMENTS RELATED TO DEPP'S JOBS AS AN ACTOR. THE VOLATILITY OF HEARD/DEPP'S RELATIONSHIP IS NOT THE PURPOSE OF THIS TRIAL. WORKING *BACKWARD* WOULD BE MORE PRODUCTIVE AND INTERESTING IN MY OPINION. FINALLY, DEPP WILL GO ON TO PERFORM FURTHER ROLES; HE'S GONNA BE OK. I DON'T BELIEVE HEARD, ON THE OTHER HAND, WILL EVER BE A SUPERSTAR, AND HER CURRENT ROLE IN AM WILL END UP BEING THE PEAK OF HER CAREER. SHE'S JUST NOT THAT TALENTED AND PRETTY FACES ARE IN ABUNDANCE IN HOLLYWOOD - SHE'S EASILY REPLACEABLE. It's strange isn't it. I was brought up by an abusive father as my mother died when I was 9. I can't remember my dad calling me by my name, just 'It'. I didn't think anything of it, until I red a book years later called A Child Called It. I left home as early as I could, but eventually ended up in a violent relationship who used everything I had confided in him against me. That relationship wasn't the last violent relationship, I seem to attract abusive men. It's weird, because I don't want violence, I hate it. I'm now in a loving relationship, but it's taken me years to find a good man. I asked my doctor once why it is, and he said people who have suffered violence throughout their lives tend to repeat what's familiar to them. It still didn't make sense, it's not as though I'm some kind of masochist. But, like Johnny, and many other survivors of abuse, we often repeat it. It's like a dog running back to it's abusive owner and just accepting that person and the life they give it. I hope Johnny wins. It will allow other men to come forward and report abuse from their partners, male or female.

Because he isn't a grown man and was forced to marry her and then stay in that marriage because he has absolutely no agency in his own life and over his own actions whatsoever, right? No matter what you think, a marriage/relationship takes two people. And it doesn't matter what kind of mother he had or how much of a pussy his father was. Millions of people have had terrible upbringing, and millions have had it much, much worse than poor JD. And guess what? Millions have had no problems leaving toxic relationships. To think that he himself played no role in the toxicity of their marriage is simply ignorant of the real world and what real couples go through, or just out right dishonest. They both brought their own unique forms of toxicity to their relationship and neither of them can be considered totally guilty or totally innocent. What's happening here is most likely one of three things: 1.Either those who side completely with JD are starstruck fanboys/girls, 2. they have never been in an actual marriage/relationship/partnership, etc. 3. have been indoctrinated into the men's rights cult of sexism, misogyny, and outright hatred of women. On a final note, of course everyone found JD's testimony convincing; he's a freaking actor for fucks sake. And not a goddamn one of you knows either one of them, so stop with all the he's a decent guy he wouldn't do that bs. He's not your friend and you have no idea what you don't know about him. I spent 20 years married to someone who was somebody exactly like Amber Heard. One of my favorite stories was a time when I was trying to leave her. I was staying with my mother and my mother drove me to my ex's house to pick up some things. My ex of course didn't take it well even though she put together the box of stuff I was taking and I didn't have to stay there long so it didn't turn into an escalated fight or anything. I just grabbed the box and went to leave. As I was walking down the driveway my started grabbing at me and clawing at me ripping my clothes and grabbing my hair and hitting me. The whole time she was doing that she was screaming for help. I had a box in my hands I didn't even have available hands to defend myself I'm just dragging myself to the car while she pulling at me screaming towards the neighbors like I'm hitting her and hurting her. That was one of the most eye-opening and terrifying moments in my life cuz I realized what she is capable of. That was year three in our twenty years. Everything I hear about Amber Heard reminds me of her. Starting the situations, escalating the situations, and when she finally gets Johnny Depp as furious as she can make him she calls him an abuser. I would spend hours every day being called a loser and being hammered with how I was the reason why everything that was wrong in our lives was wrong and it be minute after minute of her just in the background complaining about me and putting me down and telling me I was stupid and shutting down all the things I had to say. I finally snap and we'd get into an argument and start yelling at each other and she would pull out her phone and start recording me so she could show people how crazy I was. She never recorded hours of her calling me a loser while I'm doing dishes and folding laundry while she's watching TV. No she just shows people the moment that I finally snapped. I started to figure out when she was recording me when all the sudden she'd change her tone and start acting sweet and submissive and I realize oh she's recording me now

Johnny used the term “maniac,” in reference to Amber exaggerating the consistency of his drug use. With regard to him marrying someone in her 20s, he stated that she was knowledgeable about music and literature. This would give him the impression that she was mature, in spite of her age. Also, Johnny described how he gradually started to see Amber’s true nature after the first year. I’m not saying Johnny is completely innocent, but I think he went into the relationship with the best intentions. On the other hand, I believe Amber had an ulterior motive all along.

My mom was so mean and never proud of me, never said she loved me, told me I wouldn’t get a scholarship and everything I wanted to do in life would make me poor and a failure. I was also a pretty talented musician, had a full scholarship offer but pursued something else, probably because my mom told me I’d be poor. I also dated a narcissist like Amber Heard and that relationship destroyed my mental health for over a year after it ended. Well *a HUGE issue* is that the agreement in the divorce, Amber signed in 2015, was that Amber NOT talk about the "issues" of their marriage or divorce..Amber broke that agreement, subsequently costing Johnny roles and ALOT of money..seems he has a great reason to take her to Court 🤷
@Emidoki
@Emidoki 2 года назад
Do you know why they are only referring to the op-ed then? Why can't they point to the divorce agreement or other testimonies of her saying he was abusive? She literally turned around a situation in her favor when he was the one trying to escape. Instead, she claims she was the one that was attempting to "escape" towards him, which doesn't make sense and contradicts her admissions in the recordings. I noticed that her stories change up and have too much detail, whereas his has remained surprisingly consistent almost word for word. I expect her story to change again because she is on the defense now, it would be weird for her to continue the abuse allegations as strongly. I just find it weird that they are only hanging on this one article when it's obviously so much more than that. I wonder if it's just not possible, or did he have to choose to focus on one thing?

@@Emidoki I don't know, I'm baffled by the EXACT specific terms they're going by..I mean I realize Johnny's defense is painting a broad picture of her actions BUT wouldn't it GREATLY hinge on their divorce agreement? JDs issue was marrying a woman who is mentally ill, but how was he supposed to know she was mentally ill? This would have probably happened if he married a mentally ill 45 year old.

Hmmm, at this point I'm leaning towards thinking he is a covert narc and she is borderline. Ive experienced a similar dynamic and the covert narc looks amazing on the outside, such character and social fun BUT manipulative, a liar, rageful (breaking stuff, yelling), avoidant, always walking away from problems, refusing to resolve issues, blaming me, acting the victim. I have more anxious traits and reacted only to him when i just got so frustrated and felt absolutely degraded. He degraded her.... disappeared for ages, addictive behaviors, said awful things to her. Neither are perfect. There's a dark side to him for sure. He's not a happy person (also a narc trait)

After watching some of Johnny's court testimony, and Amber Herd Birds facial expressions, half smile and raised eyebrows, looking down like it was funny when JD talked about her evening 2 bottle of wine and an Ambien daily habit, I'm of the feeling that Amber was very abusive and Johnny just tried to survive, hide, and when cornered verbally fought back. Someone throwing a bottle of vodka at you, it shattering and partially cutting off your finger would make me sleep in a locked room.

I stayed in the house for additional six-seven months after the last physical confrontation. My child and I stayed at one end of the house while I made my spouse stay at the other. I believe he is a occasional user, I know people that smokes pot every day, many times a day. Pot does not alter people behavior that much. And to some, not even cocaine. But he is addicted to pill killer medication, that’s the problem and he is minimizing his addiction. That’s someone very far from winning the battle against that. My sibling was a junkie for many years (as mr Depp says "He was bitten by the snake" many times). Not once in all those agonizing years was he violent. Even when he was in withdrawl and might raise his voice, he'd automatically stop and fall to his knees and apologise for being an @sshole. So, there are people that do abuse substances but are not violent. Actually, seeing this side of mr Depp and listening to his testimony, I had many flashbacks of my family situation. We're not just witnessing a messy divorce, we're seeing the aftermath of psychological and physical abuse and we need to think deeply about our understanding of that. Firstly, Hollywood is a dangerous business when it comes to relationships. She could have been any beautiful actress during that shower scene and he probably would have "felt something". Which is probably why Johnny was hoping she'd quit acting. Which is no doubt why so many actors say they don't want to marry an actor because there are so many examples of actors who do fall for their costars destroying their existing relationships. The 23 year age gap didn't help either but I see this court extravaganza playing out like a teenage melodrama gone bad. I have the advantage of being two days ahead of your assessment regarding the trial. So far I see it like this: It appears Johnny fell for Amber based on attraction and infatuation. It appears Amber saw a mega-star stepping stone. Documentation became her partner in crime early on which casts doubt on any intrinsically pure motives to begin with. It seems she was preparing for the end of the relationship early on. Her sadistic nature is evident by her crushing a lit cigarette on his cheek leaving a burn mark after severing his finger. The dagger she gifted him with with the inscription "Till death do us part" was maybe a premonition of things to come. Is it any surprise he threatened to cut himself at some point? She provided the invitation almost like a gothic fantasy of Romeo and Juliet. They both appear to be somewhat abusive with heavier emphasis on Amber, but this case may ultimately end up in a draw. Johnny is heavy on verbal obscenities and his wild display of breaking glass and destroying kitchen cabinets may not help his case. However, I have since learned that he had just discovered his management team had cost him millions of dollars so maybe he was just lashing out in a rare burst of frustration. Amber's photo of Johnny passed out with ice cream dripping down his legs shows another callous side to her. She had to have left him in that position for a substantial period of time to capture that photo instead of easing his legs out from underneath him which was no doubt cutting off his circulation and impeding his blood flow. If she had been concerned about his welfare she would have done that instead of waiting for the perfect photo to display him in his worst light. As far as Johnny's Modigliani moment where he went on a painting rampage of walls, mirrors and a lampshade. I found a bit of humor in it and as an artist I can appreciate creative expressionism. lol I think what we are dealing with here is excess. They are used to pricey wine and drugs, booking extra hotel suites, traveling in private jets, a lavish lifestyle. So they live their lives like spoiled children play acting in their real lives not accepting responsibility for their actions.

I have a problem with the "or" as if borderline excludes psychopathy. We are talking about CLUSTER B psychopathology here, that basically means psychopathy and narcissism, just various forms of it. Thing with BPD - especially those impulsive types - is, hell is reserved to close people and most will never see that cruel side of them... it's the Family, partner, close friends, favorite persons who see it, especially in the impulsive/vulnerable BPD types are like that. You gotta understand, when a borderline discards and smear-campaigns, that IS their secondary psychopathy at play. This is what real borderline looks like and the only reason we got a glimpse of it is, Amber took it too far.

@@no-good-productions as someone that is a friend with a women with bpd and that often helps her trough crisis i have to disagree. borderline and psychopathy are not related. I don't know if this is what you mean but you message reads like you are saying psychopathy is a secondary characteristic of BPD which it is not. Cluster B personality disorders and not "CLUSTER B phychopathology" are similar but they do have different symptoms, diagnoses and causes (according to wiki , Cluster B personality disorders, on the 20/04/22 ). Amber's behavior according to the recorded voice tapes suggest Narcissism or anti social personality but to reiterate my main point is that psychopathy is not sub element of BPD. P.S. as a programer I know the difference between exclusive or and or and I used or in my opinion of amber's problem

@no-good-productions
@no-good-productions 2 года назад
@@peter4210 where to start... psychopathy isn't meant to describe a mental illness, it was kind of created as pattern used in profiling. If we go by mental illness, you will have a hard time even finding a psychopath who does not have obvious Cluster B traits, at least if we go with the DSM, psychopathy basically is part of Cluster B. In case of borderline, the similarities are so noticeable, they were summed up in the vulnerable dark triad, this kind of known at this point. Keep in mind, secondary psychopathy is not what people think of when they hear psychopathy and even then, when we let's say speak about serial killer, those are the extreme of the spectrum and mostly factor 1 psychopaths and often have a lot of comorbidities and sadistic/shizophrenic and other elements along their psychopathy, though there are even famous serial killer with a BPD diagnosis.
