The Book of Mormon has a thin history of a people called the Jaredites who populated Ancient America beginning in the third millennia BC and lasting until about 300 BC when their culture dissolved due to war and strife. However, their record made mention of Joseph of Egypt and the fact that the Americas would become the location of a New Jerusalem built by his progeny. From the scant hints provided in the Jaredite history, we have collected evidence that infers why the Americas might be a land that God covenanted to Joseph as an inheritance for his seed. These are fascinating concepts and questions that require decades of research to uncover the true history of Ancient America.
