i used to Support Dj Ak but Damn man this dude acts so fucking naive ..and corny it is annoying just listening to him ..Joe was actually a artist in the industry so obviously he knows more ...i cannot stand this fat know it all
jaja because yachty is trash and Joe is giving us an analysis of what he said before that has came true. His past endorsements have nothing to do with talent, they're based off popularity. His album sales just proved that
JR Moomoo I know he overacted the last time but you actually listen to Joe in the interview he wasn't really hating. He just telling shit how it is, he was trying to give him advise but screaming wasn't the way to go.
This is what I hate about akademiks sometimes, hes biased as hell for people he likes. If Tory Lanez sold this much he would be dancing on his grave and mentioning it in every other video.
Nigo Hilfiger im just using tory as an example because hes quick to diss him for sounding like someone else in the SLIGHTEST but lets other people slide for being a carbon copy of another person. Hes a media personality hes supposed to be unbiased and people give him credit for being that, but thats not the case with him sometimes.
No, if it was Meek Mill, he'd be doing all that. Then once Meek released his album/mixtape/whatever he's supposed to be dropping, he'll go back to being a Meek fan. Then Drake will drop a song, project, or anything bashing Meek, and then AK's lame ass will go back to hating and dissing Meek.
that's the project that makes me keep thinking maybe he will catch the golden mean between being melodic and showing personality through his uniqueness but it was a one off. He's just completely trash now, Nothing more to it anymore
Nigel .C I wouldn't necessarily say he's trash however I will say that lil boat was really good and teenage emotions seems worse as its lack luster to it but I sees where you're coming from
Logic is in the opposite of Yachty's situation. He sold more than his predicted sales, has all of his original fans still fucking with him, and had his business strait. He could of done his newest album a little better but it wasn't bad in my eyes. Give Logic credit where credit is due.
Esharido that is alot better worded, I can actually agree with that. What you said is true about 95% of the time. I appreciate you re wording it. And sadly, people start to like these types of music because it's catch and it's music about having a good time. there's no diversity because people start to listen to music to escape reality. Then that leads to kids chasing false hopes
Esharido reason I say I say it's right 95% of the time is because nothing is ever absolute. meaning even tho the majority of rap is fucked up like you say, there are still people out here that are gonna make it who won't fall under the "loser-homosexual Like- retarded" category.
the B.o.B., KiD CuDi, Wale, Drake, J. Cole, Kendrick, freshman 2009-2012 era was (about) the last group of artists built for albums that I can mention straight off the top of my head as a 26 year old. P.S. Uzi is signed to DJ Drama and Don Cannon and I assume are also helping him.. hence why he moves the way he does.
I think Yachty's camp thought the album cover and title were going to make the album appeal to more demographics, but it ended up shooting himself in the foot bc most ppl weren't fuckin with it. Also the subject matter of the album had nothing to do with the cover anyway, lol. I'm glad Joe addressed that.
Leanard Lenny Merchant: I'm happy that Joe actually said that tbh. The main reason I gave the album a chance was the explanation he gave about the title and album cover in that interview, and he delivered nothing of depth deeper than a kiddy pool.
I'm not a Joe Budden guy at all BUUUUUT, I have to put my own bias aside and admit that Joe is right about everything He said in this clip about Yachty.....damn!!
For as big as his buzz is, yes it was a flop. Not to mention his singles were not good enough. Once the label saw that the singles didn't pop they shoulda pushed it back until he released another smash hit and then make sure he dominating the charts the week he drops. They didn't calculate his release right not to mention the album was too long and he didn't bring a lot of good material to this project
People don't get that Yachty is a corporate tool...certain people are purposefully trying to sabotage Hip Hop and only want the youth to emulate the most ignorant examples of young black men they can find. Why do u think corporate America would invest so much in an artist who craps on hip hop with ease, cares nothing about the culture and hasn't sold nothing to warrant the exposure they are giving him. Yachty in basketball would be like Nike Giving a $200 million shoe deal to a bench player. Corporate America is trying to king him. The more ignorant examples of black men with a platform the better. Those dudes are easily bought and will sell their people out for a check. This is why corporate America kings wack no talent MCs.
Truth. It's crazy how people don't realize this. These companies don't care that he didn't sell any units. They just wanted to further degrade young peoples minds.
Simply Put Scents you wanna sound so smart but what "ignorance of young black men" is he perpetuating? He doesn't drink, do drugs, talk about guns or any of that. so what are you tryna say? fake woke ass
Russ said it best!! "You dropped one song and signed a deal You have less than 10 songs out You're not real So the song became bigger than the artist People know the song but they don't know the artist Not enough songs to become their favorite artist Not enough songs to be a headline artist"
I'm so happy about this. seeing artists like yatchy Rise to fame hurts me. I grew up listening to word smiths like big pun and kool g. I never thought I had the talent to rap so I was just a fan. now with yatchy doing it. I think dam I could of been a rapper. I was a great singer in high school was in the honors choir. Dam I could of sang some catchie lyrics to a hip hop beat. but the hip hop artists I look up to had serious talent.
Yeah but Migo actually got a little more serious and actually started digging into the culture of Hip Hop. Now in days you see them paying respects to the OGs in the game instead of trying to troll and say "Fuck whatever OG rapper", they knew paying respect and studying what the OGs did gets you high.
This kid in commericals with Lebron, at every festival performing, all over the country performing, all over the radio and in his debut he push under 50k..hell yea its a flop.
The amount of units sold for yachtys album is perhaps the reason why uzis manager doesn't wanna release luv is rage 2 they're afraid such a high spoken name will flop so heavy
This is what happens when your producer carries you through your career. Auto-tune and trap beats can only get you so far when you lack talent or skill. It's not that Lil Yatchy's misunderstood, he's just a bad artist.
I love this show simply, because Joe knows the business and Akademiks is an outsider who says numbers and has NO CLUE how the industry works from the inside.
MelonSquash u want people accept yall for who and what yall are,but when people express themselves y'all screaming homophobic, sexist... it's your right to be what the f you want to be,it's my right to like who you are or not.
Carl Zephirin bruh how close minded can u get these people are getting persecuted for loving someone. It's the same thing as when the Jews were being killed during the haulocast (not as bad lol) or when the Christians were being persecuted by the Romans but this is different how?
The internet created Yachty. First time I heard him was on a viral Twitter video and i immediately thought he wouldnt make it. Then he gets talked about all day on Twitter n we see the commercials and think its all music related when in reality it was bc we kept talking about him.
cloutboyray It's a joke like most these viral people, they got famous because of the people taking, not talent but just drama but at the end that shit don't last
I never really understood or saw a big need for her purpose on the show, until that last line she just told Joe: "You're mean because you hate happiness." Now she's my fave.
"No, you got memed cos you don't like happiness" - I felt sorry for Nadeska for the whole interview until she hit this 3 pointer just before the buzzer! brilliant
I definitely thought he was gonna sell way more, considering the fact that he's always the main topic of discussion and so many people defend his style and music.
Joe budden is on, actually has constructive criticism towards yachty. Listened to what he had to say, listened to his album and tried to understand where he was coming from. So many ten yr olds come on here yelling and screaming illiterate dribble and the fan girls follow. But if you actually listen to budden he has some knowledgable shit, especially for the aspiring artist. Take 📝 🤙
