Did MaXXXine Fall Short? -  

As mentioned, I think Ti West does a fantastic job at capturing the “era” of each decade he films… in maxxxine everything was vibrant, neon, and grunge-like which fit that 80s aesthetic perfectly. Even the gore for each kill was camp af which was spot on for most 80s horror. In a way, it kind of felt like a love letter to the genre with the cast, little easter eggs scattered throughout, and mentions of other horror films and scream queens…I think in retrospect people will reflect on this and appreciate it a bit more.

I respect your opinions lol I think people expected way too much from it and were always going to come out disappointed. Plus, wasn’t Maxxxine added on? I thought when he signed on with A24 it was just for 2 movies but they performed so well they asked for a third. So this one was probably never a thought in his head until that. Ah, well, They all can’t be The Innkeepers 😂😂

Except for the gore scenes this movie was a bit boring. I couldn’t stay awake for any of the talking.
