I really couldn't imagine being brave enough as a fan to ask David or Michael what the kiss was like lol. I'm glad they're good sports about it though and can have a laugh. They seem to be great friends and to genuinely enjoy working together.
It makes me cringe TBH. You'd think we would be beyond it now, it was always the question asked of actors who did any kind of same sex relationship on screen, I'd hoped that had become more normal.
@@ericamacs3875 Well, I suppose the media does love to sensationalize. And people do it too. Frankly, I think it's a layered thing as well because with David and Michael, I see a lot of people projecting onto them due to the characters they play. They're both individuals with their own families and lives, but some people seem to genuinely ship them in real life, which is rather bizarre. I guess that type of thing also happens with a lot of celebrities though. I often cringe at some of the inappropriate questions they get because people forget that they're actors doing a job. Heck, I remember when Billie Piper, who worked on Doctor Who, was asked by an interviewer if David Tennant or Matt Smith was the better kisser.
They have both kissed other men in theater productions and movies. I think, at least in my opinion, that it’s become such a big deal because the characters are so beloved by millions of people. It certainly became a big deal to me because I love not only the characters so much but also because of the men that they are on and off screen and stage. And actually they are friends and have done things together with their families.
@@lulu480 Yeah, I think the fact that they've helped create the parasocial relationships fans have with them has also factored in. From the work they've done on Staged, to the way Georgia interacts with the fans, to how Michael talks to and about David (and the Aziraphale/Crowley relationship) in interviews and on social media, I think they've built something people are invested in beyond just the characters themselves. Many fans have a hard time seeing David and Michael as anything other than a package deal now. And I mean, it's certainly understandable. Their chemistry is freaking electric. Somehow Neil Gaiman just struck a gold mine with them, and clearly both David and Michael are well aware of it.
@@supremeoverlorde2109 so true. They often appear together on television in various skits and they clearly enjoy doing it. That skit they did for the BAFTAS was priceless. And everyone seems to love it. And I think they do too. And you’re absolutely right, together they are electric!
I predict that the pedometer thing will be Crowley building a tower of Babel to get to heaven and rescue Aziraphale because that will involve....many steps! I'll see myself out 😂
I would have been more pleased if they had both been nominated. David’s performance was bold. Michael’s performance was a quieter and more subtle but over all just as funny. And it wouldn’t really matter who won. I love them both!
@@Sendarya I didn’t realize he’d never been nominated. Seems impossible given how popular and respected his performances have been. Although I do remember he won some kind of award in 2015? An honorary award…. Don’t remember exactly what it was. I guess I could look it up myself….😏
Pedometer, eh? Think they'll break out into a chorus of "I would walked 500 miles"? Lol. Or maybe there will be an ominous heartbeat thumping in the background or woven into music? This is apparently where my brain goes, lol. Great work. I always enjoy your videos and the discord server! ❤
Without paying too much attention I thought this was going to be an analysis video of who enjoyed the kiss more. Off the cuff I was going to say Crowley because he had some hope that it would change things. I stand by my interpretation that aziraphale wanted the kiss, and had thought about what his and Crowley's first kiss would be like, but still new during and after that he was going to have to leave to go back to heaven. Either to protect crowley, or to change heaven for the better or both.
2026!? It just feels too long to wait. 😢 thanks for the updates though! Anyone see that recent tumblr response from Neil when he responded to a question about a kiss in season 3 and he said he “cannot imagine any more kissing in the future.” ? Is he messing with us?
He's telling people to stop asking him questions about season 3. It's disruptive and rude. And yes, I do think he's messing with us. I'm including that in the next news video, though!
@@SendaryaThanks! I look forward to the next video! Yeah the amount of question he gets about the next season seems exhausting. As if he would spoil anything for anyone!? But I suppose people are just desperate at this point. Although this reminds me of that meme that says …the best way to get something not included next season is to ask Neil about it. 😂
Sendarya, I enjoy your videos so much that i hold them for hours, savoring the anticipation, until I eventually give in and watch with my full attention. It's always worth the wait. 😁 Someone needs to explain this to me. I don't begrudge David any nominations, it is ridiculous that he doesn't have more, but how could anyone see everything happening on Michael's face, all the heart breaking little gestures, and not nominate him? They must be blind, or not fully watching, because they are missing the magic. Either that or they haven't obsessively watched and rewatched, then watched again. Yeah, think I'm answering my own question. 🥴 They need to watch it again, PROPERLY.
You're absolutely correct. It's a real shame that Michael didn't get a nomination as well, he deserves it equally. He's the king of microexpressions. In Good Omens, they are a pair!
I'm happy about season 3, but HOW will I survive until 2026?? I'm a tiny bit obsessive, and Good Omens replaced my obsession with Hannibal & Mads Mikkelson with a new focus on David Tennant, Michael Sheen & Neil Gaiman, but I'm not good at waiting. Maybe Bryan Fuller will get season 4 going, somehow.
As someone who has been involved in fandoms for a long, long time - it'll go faster than you think. Take one day at a time, have friends/acquaintances you can talk to about it. Neil is always active on his Tumblr, there are videos out there to watch of David and Michael talking to each other. There is someone who wrote out some of the deleted scenes from season 1. There is the Cast recording of the Good Omens book, and generally just try to fill your days with other things. There is always the fanfiction and art. Fill your days with reading other books and playing some games that interest you. Persist until it becomes a reality.
There are so many rabbit holes to explore: Neil’s other works, Terry’s books, David and Michael’s previous films and shows... I’m creating a sinkhole with all the rabbit holes I’ve dug.
So 'chuffed', to use NGs word, that David was nominated. Well deserved. But how they could NOT nominate Michael as well defies ...well, pretty much everything. Theirs is the ultimate double act in GOs. Like the song says, 'you can't have one without the other., IT IS NOT ON! (to quote Crowley.)
Ah, Sendarya, how I love thee. The only thing I hadn't heard was DT being fed hobnobs, and yet I enjoyed every. single. second of this perfectly curated video. Thank you for making these! I pronounce thee official good omens news reporter!
Thank you thank you thank you for Neil …. What a delight he is. And what a wonderful crew that work on this show. And of course, thank god for David and Michael. Oh and also a BIG THANK YOU to you.
Funny, I have a totally different association with the word 'pedometer'. At high school and university we used it to scale (relatively) large age differences between partners in a relationship. At that age, dating a boy a year younger could earn you serious points on the pedometer. 😂
I think Mrs. Sandwich might be there for Crowley now that he is alone and in danger. They seem to know each other as they leave the bookstore, and there are the signs on the doorway of her brothel. Some fans have speculated that the signs are Clues. Aziraphale enjoyed the kiss, the same way he enjoyed eating an ox rib. He wasn't really into it, but then changed his mind. It took a bit longer after the kiss because of his shock, but he might be really be craving another one.
Somehow missed it the first time around, that is a terrific picture of Michael Sheen and Derek Jacobi. Somewhere in the deeper recesses of my memory there was a comment by MS saying he based some of Aziraphale's vocal inflections on Sir Derek's.
Did you see the BBC show the Assembly where one of the lovely young neurodivergent interviewers asked Michael about the kiss? The clip is on the RU-vid BBC channel or the whole thing is on iPlayer
Dear god 2 years. I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE dramatically RIGHT NOW. (definitely not writing that at 2am ) I am in love with this story, I am not ready to get out of this world for 2 years😭 Also I have a question. Will I be the only one devastated if Aziraphael and Crowley won't end up together for at least the last episode? Since it is the last season, I cannot deal with a thought that they will just kiss or sth at the end of the season and the author will just leave us with our imagination of how the rest of their life went. I beg you I just want a happy end, them holding hands in a cafeteria is all I'm dreaming of. Lots of kisses to you pure soul as in love with this series as I am❤❤❤.
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna love whatever season 3 is gonna be. I just really hope to have Georgia and Anna do a cameo (as Sadie & Dottie who may or may not be a couple) and have an interaction with the Ineffable husbands.
Understood the Titel wron, so did not want to watch it. Avoid watching it about 10 days. Than I missed sendarya so much on RU-vid that I watched it anyway: what an (for me) unexpected great video. Thanks a lot for the research and the work you have with your videos
Titles and Thumbnails can be sooo tricky. I think I might have to rethink this one, lol. A few people did think it would discuss in universe enjoyment! If only I had a picture of the actors kissing outside the show...lol
Thanks so much for this wonderful news bits! But I do hope you are wrong with your prognosis about the air time of S3 and it’ll start earlier 😉 hope you don’t mind?!
I know it's not that great to speculate about people's personal relationships, but it's soooo hard to do after watching the GO1 interviews... Anyway, I'm quite interested in why did they film it this way, with so many cuts. I'm not an expert in filmography but it looks a bit unusual to me. Also David Tennant was phenomenal in that scene, it was a really difficult job for sure, so I hope that stupid awkwardness of the people around didn't make it unnecessarily even harder.
So surprised David T was nominated for acting and not Michael Sheen who just slays it as Aziraphale. Do hope David wins though! Really great it's getting so many awards. It makes me feel justified in my obsession.
It does help that other people also recognize it's brilliance. We aren't TOTALLY crazy...lol. I also hope Michael gets some recognition. So overlooked!
@@Sendarya I know he's been robbed over the years for awards. He should have been Oscar nominated for Frost v Nixon. Sometimes I think character actors go unrewarded because they're so different in each role.
😅you gotta read the title! It's about the actors, not the characters. If I had a pic of David and Michael kissing out of character, I'd have used it. Sadly.... that does not exist
How to tell me you didn't watch the video without saying you didn't didn't watch the video, lol. It's news about the actors, not the in universe characters.
I totally thought this would be an analysis on which character liked the kiss more and I couldn't imagine how you could spin it that either of them liked it - *at all. (*Of course said in "no one - at all - would say bebop" voice.)
