2 hurricanes back to back sounds awful! I love your crochet sweater. I might have to try it. The last thing I frogged was a sweater I was throwing to make during an emotional down and somehow made a mistake. I will try again but right now it will stay frogged.

I'm so glad, you are okay. I even read in some German papers about the water being shut down in St. Petersburg and was sending some seriously positive vibes for all of you. Also, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Hurricane season will come to end soon. The last thing I frogged was a shawl I knit with some very precious yarn (I should enter it in the MAL) because the shawl and the process didn't make me happy. Now I'm knitting a beautiful cowl with it - I actually did, while watching this episode. Keep safe, Dear Hannah - and happy Halloween to you and your family!

I just had a knitting attack at the weekend that I fixed while watching this podcast! I had a 10sec lapse in attention that lead to 2hrs of woe. I somehow managed to switch to the wrong pattern row a whole repeat too early and didn't realise it until I was 2 rows past 😱 and it was cables 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm glad you and your family are okay and finally have power and water back. Fingers crossed there aren't any more big nasty hurricanes. My nearly 6yo is so excited for Halloween, he gets to wear his costume 3 times this year which he's very happy about, tomorrow at a school disco, trick or treating around our city centre shopping mall and on Halloween to go "proper" trick or treating.

I’m in eastern Pasco County and we got it pretty badly, too. Thankfully, the only thing we had to deal with was loss of power for five days. We didn’t evacuate, either, so I get it. Sometimes it’s harder to evacuate than it is to just hunker down. I’m glad you and your family are safe. 💜

So glad you are all safe and survived the hurricane. I live in Northern Ireland where we don't typically have terrible weather just lots of rain. We have a yellow warning for storm someone or other, I've forgotten its name. No where near anything like you describe. Yours must have been so scary. I couldn't not tell you about a knitting disaster I had. It was a 4 ply cabled sweater. It was supposed to be for me. Approximately 44" chest. When finished, it fit a 5 year old! It almost killed my knitting mojo. At least it wasn't a complete waste of time. Gauge is my biggest problem.

Oh my. Pretty yarns. I tried to make a knit shrug for my daughter and I primarily crochet. No pattern. I quickly realized that I didn’t know what I was doing 😂so it was a total failure. Live & learn. Glad you’re safe.

I'm glad you and your family got through the hurricane adventures. Ugh! You definitely needed a small yarn haul to squish and relieve stress.😊 We have gone from +20c to -3c in two weeks. So I was making fingerless gloves for my husband and screwed up the pattern and had to frog 2/3rds and do a redo. And he needs them now, no pressure!

I’m glad to hear that you are all okay. I enjoyed seeing your projects and your new yarns. I finished a pair of baby socks last week and started to take a picture of them. I was taking it outside and thought the sunlight was causing the legs to look different lengths. Of course not. One good thing about baby socks is that there isn’t as much to rip back.

Buying yarn makes me happy too. I went to my first fiber festival while visiting my mom in Missouri. It was small, but so fun. The last thing I frogged was the neckline for the poncho I was making for my mom - I didn't take the weight of the yarn into account and it went down past her bust - which totally defeated the keep her warm aspect. 😅

So glad you are all safe!! I really appreciate hearing your perspective as far as evacuation and extreme weather. I think the last yarn attack I had was deciding to frog two different projects with the same yarn and then giving that yarn away because I was never going to be happy with it.

So glad all are safe! Buying yarn make me happy as well. Love all your makes 😊 So sorry for your sourdough -your bread always looks amazing & so delicious (yum). The last thing I frogged like 4 times is a wool/silk fingering weight baby blanket for my 1st grandchild. I'm working it in moss stitch in the square. It is 2 colors - gradient shades of gray & gold. I initially did every other row gray/gold but that was much gold. then I did 2 row gray/1 row gold - did not like that either. Then did 4 rows gray/1 row gold -love it!

I posted a long story about a UFO that i found after my husband passed but it posted on the wrong podcast! It is my own design made with soft cotton yarn in my favorite color and stitch. It had begun to unravel in a strange place so i had to frog it and search for more yarn. Still need to do the sleeves but so glag i took the time and patience to do it my way. (And so glad i found it in the move from our home)

I just frogged two rows of my Islands mosaic CAL by Tinna because I couldn't figure out the reverse wave pattern. I'm doing the regular wave now, But, it put me off the project for a week!!!! I am so happy you got your power back on. We went for a week one time and I was loading ice in the freezer and refrigerator so all my food wouldn't spoil. I also keep buckets and jars with water for if it ever happens again. I live in Wisconsin so yeah, anywhere you go it's always something. HUGS

I’m so happy to hear from you and thank goodness that you’re doing well, I was thinking about you. It was very interesting hearing about all that is involved in evacuation. I live in New Brunswick,Canada and years ago we had a severe ice storm that shut down all power for 8 days but this was the middle of winter with no heat. I had two dogs so I couldn’t go to a warming station. A glass of water formed ice sitting on the counter in the kitchen. It was terrible. The weight of the ice broke trees and power lines everywhere. Mother Nature is impressive for sure. I’ve been frogging dish cloths trying different stitches to come up with a perfect fit but I have two sweaters that are hibernating in project bags because they need to be frogged and I don’t want to deal with them. Silly eh? 💜

So glad you all are okay! We are in fort Myers and just got the wind but we have family in Saint Pete whose garages and front yards were completely flooded up to their knees, it was really something. I recently had to frog a chunky cowl I was making from this beautiful grey chunky baby alpaca yarn. I had been saving it forever but something went wrong and it was 3x’s larger than it should have been. I never knew how hard this material was to frog though due to its soft fuzzy nature! Oh well..😅

I'm so glad you made it through the storm safely. I'm very much a 'they'll never notice the mistakes' knitter and almost always forge ahead, but I was working on a sweater in the round and my disaster was just that I didn't wanna knit almost 300 stitches in each round (with every second round being all purls) so I frogged the whole thing and started doing it flat in pieces. Not looking forward to seaming it, but that will be an easier mental hurdle than endless rounds and purls. (It's a fingering weight half fisherman's rib.)

I'm glad to hear you are all ok. I said many prayers for you and your area. Thank you for explaining the how's and why's of evacuation. I've never lived anywhere that hurricanes were an issue so I was one judging why people don't leave when one is coming. Luckily I now live in Michigan where there are relatively few natural disasters. I'd guess the last thing I frogged was a shawl. It wasn't an error or I didn't like it, it was really dragging through the rows. I decided if I felt like that less than a quarter of the way into the first of two balls of yarn, I'd never finish.

I worried about y’all and praying you were safe. I am so glad you are all ok. I know it was an awful week to have to deal with though, just such a mess. Glad you finally have power and get things back on track. I’m knitting the Yume Tee and KnitSipHappy’s mosaic DK socks. The last crochet disaster was a short sleeve circular yoke top. I didn’t frog it (though I should have). I did some creative alterations and got it good enough to wear around the house over a dress. The Yume I’m knitting is a circular yoke, hope it turns out better! 😁

I can relate to no power! You will never find me camping or doing any of that stuff where I cannot have all the comforts of home! When you were dealing with the hurricane I was dealing with the tornadoes on other side of Florida, but all is good! I once made a sweater, I loved the yarn, but the sweater just did not fit like it should and then living in southern Florida, what was I thinking, too hot here. I did frog the whole thing after a couple months of looking at it. Like I said, I loved the yarn, but I still have not done a thing with that yarn! Ugh! Happy you are all okay!

Whew, what an ordeal! Glad you got through safely, but a week without power? In the south? With small children?! You deserve a year of vacation and like a million dollars. I've lived in tornado country all my life, so I think the reason hurricanes inspire a kneejerk "Run!" instinct is that you get so much warning, comparatively. But then I realize if I knew about a tornado in advance, the most I'd probably do is go to a local shelter too, and that's just because I don't have a basement. My last tale of woe was my blacklight sweater for the Lisa Frank MAL. The swatch was more than generous, and yet it lied to me so bad! I frogged hundreds of stitches twice, and finally I had to track down a 2.75mm needle on a sweater-size cable. But it's going fine now!

I was testing a filet crochet blanket, a snowman, and the crochet attacked! I finished the whole thing, hung it up to take pix, and saw one row about halfway back, was off. As you know, in filet crochet a mistake is glaringly obvious. There was no way I was frogging half the blanket so I took a tapestry needle, some matching yarn, and sewed a mock DC into the openings that were supposed to be solid and cut the yarn out to make openings where they were supposed to be. Up close it won't fly, but from a distance, for pix, it works! 😂

My crochet attack was I am currently making the Irene sweater by Vicky chan, i realized after separating for the sleeves, i used the smaller hook instead of the larger one. I had to restart it with the correct hook, otherwise it would be way to small. And I'm using a indie dyed super wash merino.

(are you sure it’s pop and not margarita in that can? 🤦🏾‍♀️) The last large item I had to frog was a cardigan from The Crochet Project - a bad experience is putting it mildly. I got some new sock yarn from premiere. After I made the whole first sock with my usual stitch count I tried it on and it didn't fit! I had to frog and add 12 stitches above normal and go up a needle size. What the heck! I think its sport yarn, not fingering. Hey. I am happy only your sourdough died. I lived at places with no electricity before and i can promise it's possible to survive it. There was also no running water, no bathroom or kitchen and stuff. It's a great experience to see how little we really need. But yes i prefer electricity. I live in india in the Himalayas and the electricity is off quite often. Ok to knitting i work on my pluma morada shawl by Joji. I have many knitting attacks. Trying to make hats that actually fit is a challenge. I have frogged a lot recently. Even the hat i finished, raxtur by stephen west ,(love that hat pattern a lot), has an issue. It turns out my alpaca yarn is too soft so the earflaps don't stand. I will need to sew on buttons or something to fix it. Have a great day
