100% on point. Fanatics says they want to "10x" this hobby. Well, when you let crime, manipulation, shady practices, lying, refuse to address glaring issues and increase prices for increasingly watered down products with lowered value - that's usually not how to go about it. It's a bold strategy, Cotton, let's see if it pays off for them.

I like the over-lay process which leaves no doubt and you are correct about sigs. I think this should be implemented by ALL grading companies and I think it should go beyond 1/1's. Bottom line is who ever is responsible for this and others needs to be found and held accountable right along with the grading companies and auction houses. This hobby has been hijacked by corruption and big corp but with enough push back by the purest it can be stopped.

A visual checklist could be submitted by manufactuer to each grading service for a simple authentication process i agree but should be all numbered, autos and relics.

I understand that TAG’s grading comes with a chronological order that sequences the first, second, etc of different copies being graded over time. I think that would automatically catch this type of event that BGS obviously can’t/doesn’t catch. I would like to see you as guest discuss this on JLee’s SCL! Thanks!

So the 1/1's only difference on all if these cards is the patch? Thats garbage. I own a few one of ones. I hardly own any paninin at all. And it just so happens that the panini I do own is a one of one. They made others that look almost exactly like it except for the color of one of the graphics on it. Its hardly a one of one

Typically you will also see a difference in foil (i.e. one might be black, one blue etc) but they've been lazy and sometimes kept them the same.

Love the digging … fully understand the patch swap..but why are there 2 cards both 1/1 with same card number in the first place. Is the fake patch (swap) a counterfeit?

No, most inserts have multiple 1/1s these days. For this insert I showed in the previous video that there is a 1/1 for manufacturer logo, laundry tag, NFL shield and then also team logo

@@DanTheCardMan2 I know and saw that … but would they not be different card numbers on the back? For example. PTAG, PTAG2 … they would not be the same card number even if a different parallel. This opens up the question (if same card number on back) that it is counterfeit, duplicate (replacement) that went out the back door, et.

So many people out there are sitting on fake and altered cards. Many will get a hard gut punch when they go sell finding out the cards are worthless. Grading won't save you.

Scammers will always try and find a way. As much as we want to blame BGS, I’m going to defend them a little. The first one that was graded, the real one, has a 10 million serial number. That was years ago. Maybe around when the card first came out. Grading companies weren’t doing any photo scanning, nevermind Panini back in 2017/18. Then the fake got graded, probably 2020 time frame by the serial #, how could BGS reference it to anything? Even if they found it was graded before, what would cause them to think that somebody didn’t just crack it out and grade it again? All we can hope for is that Fanatics and grading companies do better and now with scans from PSA, BGS needs to get on the ball. There’ll still be scammers out there no matter what. Even if the images weren't on hand, their process still should have flagged that it was a duplicate request. They should have investigated further before grading the item. Yes it could have been a regrade but all TPGs have an obligation to protect their brand and customers from being exposed to unnecessary risk, they needed to do better and having a crap business environment is not an excuse.

@@DanTheCardMan2 agree. They have had changes in leadership. You can’t put blame on things that happened years ago. You can but nothing can change it. What’s BGS suppose to do, go back years and recall items? Now when it came to the fake autographed Topps cards that got stolen, now that’s a different story since that was really recent. I’m betting this 1/1 got submitted to PWCC, PWCC had it graded and then it was sold. We really need these companies calling out these sellers. Why no attack PWCC? Then we will see changes.

One of the issues with your setting off flags if someone grades a 1 of 1 that's been graded already is the fact that some people crack and regrade the same card hoping for better grades

Correct but the expectation on the TPGs should be to do some checks and balances before proceeding with the grade. They have an obligation to protect their brand and customers and ignorance and a poor business process on their part is not a good excuse. If they seemingly ignored it and just thought "oh its a regrade", why didn't they deactivate the original cert?

If the manufacturers refuse to provide a photo database, or to identify the card on the back (ie 1/1 logo) then all of the grading companies should immediately stop grading all patch cards. End of story.

This question is for Dan In regards to Beckett… What makes you feel they need to track this stuff? Grading a card with Beckett is around $20 It’s not like PSA where that card would be 4 digits It’s just another card through Beckett
